Flashlight > Hope so man !!.. may your wishes come true ...look at us .. we have waited almost 20 years since I started listening to Joe. It was a long wait to see my Guitar God come and rock my city.
Now all of us so thrilled that we have started to counted days, checking out special guest tickets to buy, planning for some good banners for his show ... I was looking out a teacher to teach me guitars ... and I feel this is the prefect time to meet Joe Satriani and take his blessing and then start the process of learning, I am not keen on becoming a professional guitarist but I would sure would like groom that in myself coz thats a passion.
I would love to play like a Joe ... atleast for myself, he has healed me with his music most of the times when i was going thru tough time and I have come thru shining.
So I have decided that I will try my best to meet Joe when he is here and take his blessing and then start my lessons, here in India it is considered aspicious if one takes the blessing of a great teacher and then start the learning process.
So I hope my wishes come thru.

JAZZY: thanks you! I'm now officially as old as Michael Jordan's jersey (the real one not the #45 jersey he got stuck with on the first comback). Actually, do you remember the simpsons episode where Homer is comparing what he has accomplished at his age to what Edison had achieved (kind of on a graph). That's the way I feel haha! The older I get the more the feeling of desperation gets that I won't make it as a full time guitarist. Although, so far I'm way ahead of the game, I mean Satch wasn't even close to a big time career till his late twenties. I'm not delusional though, I know the window for big time guitar instrumental albums has swung shut since Surfing, but if I can just make a good living at music (without a real job haah) and earn some moderate respect from my peers, that's huge success to me haha!
Stevee T: I heard about half of the JP solo album, and the thing is, he is and will always be a phenominal player, but on a few songs (a lot of them actually) he goes on an extended 2+ minute solo section that just turns into this "I can play faster than bats flying out of my nether region for a real long time." He tends to go on these tangents an lose the composition of the song. Also, I think his tone was better earlier in his career. I love warm tone, but I think Rudesses keys sound is approaching JP's old real guitar tone, where JP's tone is approaching a sampled guitar sound that you could find on any Korg Kyboard. I thought DT should get rid of the vocals, but maybe they need them to force the guys to not loose all elements of tast in their playing.

Happy 23rd Oliver!!
Flashlight, I think you have officially won the record for reaching 100 posts the fastest. It only took 1 month! There should be some sort of prize for that or something...like mittens & duct tape. lol! Congrats.
I'm 2 days behind. I hit the last post instead of the edit post last night and screwed myself up. I hate when that happens. lol!

Hey everyone how are we all! Iv'e seen joe live, I have Joe's live in San Fransico dvd and have seen a few other clips of him. I have always wondered why does he sometimes use his left hand (frets) to use his tremelo? especially with those squeals he does. If i had my own lock in tremelo i'd be able to experiment and figure it ou,t but because i have only played a few guitars with lock ins and havent got much experience with them, I dont know. I'd appreciate it if anyone could explain this to me. Thank you
Daniel
P.S I cant check the threads very often so if you could please email me or add me to MSN fresh_m3at@hotmail.com

Zinc Master thanx for the nice words about my painting :) I've only just realized that the webmaster must have taken that shot of the painting - because it is on a wood background, the photo I sent him was different.

Hi Joe
Greetings from Mumbai, India!
I was extremely disspointed when you decided to cancel your Mumbai leg of your tour last year(due to SARS?) - so am extremely thrilled that you are coming to Mumbai, Bangalore and Calcutta after all!
I would consider it a great honor, sir, if I was considered for a crew position during your Indian trip. I have done my share of event support and can be of considerable assistance here in India.
Out here in India, the most popular song has always been 'Summer Song' - I guess because it is on the first G3 album too.
I look forward to the webmaster's or your reply. Once again- it would be an honor to be considered for crew position and I do hope that it would work out!
Best Regards,
Suj
