Guitarmeister.....I'm not sure there will be a prize for the 1,000,000th post...but I bet I can narrow it down to maybe 3 or 4 people who will be the one who does it...lol ! It took me over three years to break 1000 and I'm damn proud of it ;)

If anyone is in Virginia, Minnesota this weekend, our band Tornado Alley will be playing at Poppers Bar from 9:30 to 1:30am friday and saturday...The menu will consist of classic and progressive rock & blues..... Peace, SD

Cheese - I just talked to Michelle and she said that she is still into going so I would be more than happy to take the tickets out of your hands. Let me know what they run and we can meet up before the show. Thanks a lot. Looking forward to a good time.

Stevee T, :) you're right.

Matt, they cost almost $75 with the fees, etc, so 70 even would be plenty, if that's alright with you. When it's closer to the time for the show, we'll figure out how we're going to hook up so you can get your tickets!! Or I can mail them to you and we could settle up later...whatever works!

Michelle: Good God....I could really use one of those "easy" buttons right now. After the car insurance fiasco, I finally found a chaper rate where I won't have to give both arms and legs every month. What a stressful few days.....and I don't stress out over very much at all.

I could really use a Calgon moment....or a Calgon month, for that matter.

The Satch gig gear on sale at the Enmore (17th) was generally septic-70's; Who invents that side show alley crap anyway?

Like the busted downstairs dunnies on the nite; the lines for the room were like septic- also;

The gig was awsome however, & I hope JS lives forever!!

Hi everyone...what's up? Sorry for being so quiet for the past week or so, but I've been trying to enjoy my spring break. ;-)

So...what have I been up to? I decided to hang around school for another semester. I was originally planning on graduating in December, but now I'll wait and graduate in May 2006.

Part of the reason I decided to stay was because I wanted to apply to be editor in chief of the newspaper next year. I had an interview for that on Friday, but I didn't get the job. Oh well...I can still apply for another position (one that would still be a promotion), and if I don't get that I can just stay where I am now.

Anyway, that's enough about me. I thought I'd take a moment to talk about a few CDs that I bought today:

Neal Schon: I On U - This album came out last month, but I didn't get around to buying it until today... Does anyone else here have it? If I had to describe it briefly, I would call it "EOC-lite"...it sounds very similar to EOC (as well as the softer parts of Stu Hamm's Outbound), but that's not a fair description because this album is so much more than that. It's very laid back and just cool all around. I love the strings (I guess they're synth strings, actually) on Taken There. It'd be cool to hear more of that type of music from Neal.

Dave Weiner: Shove The Sun Aside - Wow. Everyone needs to buy this album. I can hear Steve Vai's influence here, but Dave's own style is still there. My favorite track is Ghost Of Denmark Street. Also...Dave's Party Piece (from Steve's Live At The Astoria) is included on this album as a bonus track. If you're even just a casual fan of Dave's music (based on what you've heard from his work with Steve), you'll love this album.

Ozzy Osbourne: Prince Of Darkness - This is a great box set for both old and new fans. I consider myself a big Ozzy fan (I have all of his studio albums and some of the soundtracks that his music appears on, etc.), but 30 of the 52 songs on this set are new to me (they're either completely new songs, or live or demo versions of classic songs). I bought this set for $29.99 at Best Buy...it's a steal at that price, so go buy it before the end of the week (they'll raise the price on Tuesday when the next new releases come out) if you can. This set also includes the "new" versions of the songs from Ozzy's first two albums (when Ozzy remastered them a few years ago, he had new musicians rerecord the bass and drum tracks due to contract disputes with the original musicians). I'm having an extremely hard time listening to these songs because of this, but hey...I can just stick to the original albums. The rest of this box set (including crazy stuff like a cover of Born To Be Wild with Miss Piggy, and the song Stayin' Alive with solos by guitarists such as Dweezil Zappa, Zakk Wylde, and Nuno Bettencourt) is more than worth the price tag. Buy it.

Does anyone have any thoughts on these albums?

...Austin...
