Wow, I don't think this site has ever had as many newcomers over one day than it ever has. Looking through the posts today, I was about 6 pages behind, saw sooo many newbies...a lot of new people every day, but that was a lot for barely even one day! Just goes to show you, Satch is rockin' the entire world!!! Just wating to see some strange posts on here from like aliens or something?! Going to get some more CD's and some DVD's in a minute or so. In case anyone has been wondering (i doubt it though), getting a little better, it's going slooowwwlyyy.

Zen - Yea - hope you enjoyed Barcelona. Roy enjoyed your visit I know.
SteveeT - Flymans was recorded in my flat in Dundee, Scotland a few years ago. My best friend, Gaeme (annoyingly plays drums, guitar, bass, keyboards and is a great keyboard player and sound engineer too!), did all the rest of the music. Although he plays drums, he actually played sample drums in real time from his keyboard, incredible to watch. You can see him here http://www.watty2000.plus.com/ He is a good friend of Roy's too. Actually he knew Roy before I did as they went to music school together.
Glad you liked the site. Its pretty basic but its about as much as I can do. I will pay someone to make it better.

Zen - maybe Roy showed you some Iron Horse stuff, but if not, there is a live video on my SBM site filmed in Lorien France with Roy in the background somewhere. You need Real Audio Player to see it. Did Roy show you him in the other 'film' video with the guy and girl in the car, police appearing and Roy walking down the street at the end of the video carrying his guitar - I like that one.

RIP
Guitarist Rod Price of Foghat Dies at 57
WILTON, New Hampshire (AP) - Guitarist Rod Price, founding member of the blues boogie band Foghat, died Tuesday after falling down a stairway at his home, a family friend said. He was 57.
The London native's solos drove Foghat to three platinum and eight gold records during the band's quarter-century career. After many years of touring he settled in Wilton in 1994.
Many in town knew Price as a loving father who never missed his son's baseball, soccer or basketball games. Fewer people knew of Price's musical background.
Price had played with Champion Jack Dupree, Eddie Kirkland, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Willie Dixon and Honey Boy Edwards.
In recent years, Price concentrated on his blues projects, cutting several CDs and giving private guitar lessons at his home.

Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" tops a survey of all-time best songs to drive to. The poll was conducted by a Scottish radio station, and according the Scottish newspaper the Evening Times, "Bohemian Rhapsody" edged out Guns N' Roses' "Sweet Child O' Mine." Here's the top ten:
1. Queen, "Bohemian Rhapsody"
2. Guns N' Roses, "Sweet Child O' Mine"
3. Nirvana, "Smells Like Teen Spirit"
4. U2, "Vertigo"
5. Red Hot Chili Peppers, "By The Way"

Hi everyone at Satchland!
tune, ¡hola! ¿qué tal? I'm 100% free of flu, it's kind of a rebirth for me :-) I hope you can take up again the lessons asap,
take it easy.
On the other hand, thanks to you and Leanne (BigBunny) for sharing Joe's meet and greet story, specially the little details,
priceless.
estrela, olá! how are things? I guess a bit anxious waiting for the day of the new job :-)
962, yes I have Nuno's "Schizophonic" and I really like more the production and the guitar work of Mourning Widows, I have the self-titled album in a wish list, I'll pick it up when I have the chance. By the way, I've been listening to your music. I like your song "Shining Light" very much, the rhythm, the melody and the guitar playing is fantastic and I like some oriental winds of "Juggling Karma".
michelle, I love the atmosphere and the feeling involved in "Reel Satriani", the only thing that I regret from Reel is the
length! It would have been really good one more hour...It really deserves a DVD edition, and if it's a deluxe pack with lots of extras, more recording sessions, songs and live stuff much better. By the way, it's cool to know more about Nathan East from you and jazzzy, I didn't know very much about Nathan, I only remembered him at that legendary night of the Legends of Guitar in Seville, Spain :-)
bahduh, I got your mail :-)
Steven Wilde, hi Steven, I'm fine, I received the good vibes from "Cali" by you :-) You seem a bit busy with the recordings, keep on rockin! And happy 900 shiny posts!
Do The Stu, about Neal Schon's new album "I On U", I agree with you in it's like a Neal Schon's EOC, but while I consider
Joe's "Engines of Creation" a masterpiece (for me his best after Crystal Planet) I can't say the same of "I On U". In my
humble opinion of non-musician listener, it has three amazing tracks, my favorite "Blue Passion" (very Satrianish by the way) it's worth buying the album for this song, "Taken There" and "Father". I don't really like this album fully. Neal Schon has changed his style of composition comparing with his previous albums that I absolutely love, and there's too much rhythm for my liking. But it's a question of tastes, I've listened to it only three times, perhaps I need more listenings.
What you said about Dave Weiner's album sounds interesting, being a great fan of Vai I think I'll pick it up.
Zinc Master, I can't believe "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf is not on the list of best driving songs!
estrela & 962, I've found more shots of the "beach" of Madrid (Pantano de San Juan) better than the one I put, check them out if you like:

Do The Stu
I've owned Dave's album for nearly a year now and I'm still listening to it quite often, its an excellent album and now that he has a distribution deal with favoured nations it will be available in most record stores so it'll be much less hassle for him to get his excellent music out to those who wanna' hear i. :-)

LotusFeet777, I've bought recently a nice collection of old Joe clippings (new for me :-) at e-bay and in one of the
interviews there's something about the Silver Surfer thing, here goes:
"Ray Zell: Who does the shopping?
Joe: "Usually both of us. I like food shopping. I don't like clothes shopping. I like cooking. I like going out to eat a lot.
I like reading books. I like intelligent science fiction books."
Ray Zell: Comic-books?
Joe: "No."
Ray Zell: But...your "Surfing With The Alien" album cover has a picture of the Silver Surfer...
Joe: "Yeah, that's just one of those funny stories where the title just came to me as I was writing the track.
And when I delivered it to Relativity (Satch's label), the production manager Jim Koslowski - who we call Kos - his former nickname was the Silver Surfer. He just sort of casually mentioned it to me. And I said, 'What's a Silver Sulfer?' He of course went, 'WHAT?!'. So he sent me a couple of original comic books, and I really got into it. I thought it was really cool. He was a positive figure, he stood for good. Yet he was riddled with these metaphysical questions and angst about existence..."
Ray Zell: I couldn't have put it better myself."
(Kerrang, 1992)
