A nice bowl of chili would hit the spot right now - since it is snowing out side and about 30 degrees, give or take a few degrees.

just incase any of you missed it

talk2joe cd 2

we have decided to do a second cd. it will be organized a bit differently. + You will submit your song as an mp3 to an email account(if your track is chosen a cd of the non compressed wave file will be sent to OCPS470 for mastering). + Everybody that is a posting member of t2j (meaning you must post here to be on the cd) is eligible to submit. + Songs must be Less than 6 minutes in length. + There is no fee this year. But we would like all contributors to buy a copy of the disc when it is ready.(and if you want to send some cash to keep t2j.com alive it is very welcome). + Your song must not be posted online anywhere ie: website, soundclick etc. for one year(it is ok for you to have it on a cd just not for free download)! after that it's fair game once again. + By submitting your song , you are agreeing to allow t2j.com records to use and have the right to distribute your song. + All submissions will be judged by a panel of judges. + Vocal songs will also be accepted this time. + Submissions deadline is March 28 05. The deadline will not be extended for anyone, as we are trying for an August release. + The email addy to submit songs is talk2joecd@hotmail.com

STEVEN- Great news about getting tickets to a Joe concert! I've never seen him play live either, am hoping to next time he tours England although who knows when it'll be! Thanks for your e-mail, still no news with the piano exam result yet unfortunately... Take care and speak to you soon- any more updates on your trip over to England?

SteveeT- (I think) you asked me what cabinet we got with the JSX Head, no we didn't get a Peavey one, but a Marshall 1960A Angled 350w one. I hope it was you who asked me, if not, ignore this message! Sorry about the delay in reply, I'm on a go-slow at the moment.

I remember just around this time last year Satch's Is there Love in Space CD was just coming out, my mom preordered me the CD from like sony.com or something for an easter gift, got the cd and an extra CD booklet that was signed by Joe. Joe's obviously been doing more touring than usual, haven't even heard a thing about a new CD in the works yet.

-Probably will be my last post for a while, c-ya Satchland!!!

Stevee T, actually my ex and I get along okay, I've always tried to put Chris's best interests ahead of any personal feelings my ex and I may have, and we are able to talk to each other pretty freely. In some respects, it helped a lot in the beginning that he wasn't in the same town, but now I wish he was so Chris could see more of him, etc.

Estrela, hi back you sweet lady! You are very dear, and yes, in a couple of days Chris will be home and I can get that hug in person!

Steven, I'm going to try sending e-mail through my work e-mail to see if that can get to you....I'll do it on my lunch today, let me know if you get it!! And if you do get to see Joe and tell him hi from us, please also tell him we'll be at 4 of his concerts in April...YEAH!!

Suzie2000, thanks very much for the kind words to Austin and myself for our webcast entries....that's so nice to hear!!

Silent_Shady, glad you like the crazy stuff I post.....if you want a lot more laughs, you should go back and read stuff that Zinc Master and michelle have posted...absolutely hilarious!!

To Anyone Interested!

John Petrucci's Solo CD is in my player & being givin the once over as I write this email.

He gives thanks to Joe Satriani & Steve Vai in the liner notes.

1st song heavy.

Most songs are of 7 minutes long, or more.

2nd song...I forget

3rd song best so far IMHO

4th song kinda of a Vai love ballad thing

5th song heavy

6th song kinda upbeat Satch-ish----finally...a melody I can almost remember....kinda Flyin' in A Blue Dreamish... especially at the very end..

7th song...finally some slow soulful expression..alittle jazzy..gets heavier in the middle

8th song...11 minutes long...same stuff.

1. Overall Rating - Technically 8-10

2. Tone...a little tOO round for me---closed wah wah...

3. Composition - 5-6 at best

4. Melodies - nearly non-existant...at least not memorable

Clarky's effort should squash John's efforts like a bug on a Cylon's metal head...no disrespect to JP...I expected so much!!

Satch Kicks Petrucci's ass in so many ways!!!!!!

You can now return to your regularly programmed channel.

hey folks, I just uploaded some more guitar photos - my (dad's) silver-series Squier Strat, and my newly customised Ibanez GIO. Originally a GSA60, I'm now calling it a GSA600! I changed the tuners, bridge, nut, pickups and half the electronics so it's pretty unique now! Go here, to my "Guitars, Concerts" album if you're at all interested....they're on page 3 of photos!

Mr Nick, yeah, I do wonder if Joe ever logs on and sees "400 pages of new posts" and thinks "....fuck it".

Working huh? Where are you working dude? Hope you're doing something cool! I hope your ACM time has got you something good too....

estrela, hehe, good move on editing out all the bold! :-) Thanks a lot for your comments, I look forward to hearing more.....I've not yet been to Spain but it's somewhere I really want to go. A very good friend of mine is half Spanish, and has given me good accounts of what the Spanish culture is like...

I get the impression that South American culture is generally very much the same. There seems to be a great deal of passion and tradition under the surface of Spanish culture, and it makes for a vibrant atmosphere, especially with such a rich mix of things that are very modern and new-age, and things that are very traditional and quite old.

From what little I have seen, I get the feeling Brazil is much the same, with the same kind of energy, but generally poorer. I'd love to visit Brazil, and many other parts of South America. For some reason I'm fascinated by Panama, I really want to go there! Thanks for putting up with my continual questions! hehe

Stevee T, thanks for your JP review....it was interesting, but not particularly surprising! yeah, Joe is just the daddy really!
Suzie, hi! Hows the amp going? And did you get your Grade 8 results yet?

Zinc Master - I still don't buy it. ;-) If it was in the chili all along, I think the person probably saw it first and ate it anyway...just to cause this big thing. Oh well...we're spending way too much time talking about this.

sharky6801 - Ice 9 comes from the book Cat's Cradle, written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. It's a form of water that is frozen at room temperature. Read the book for more info. ;-)
Suzie2000 - Thanks. :-)

I understand where you are coming from - your position makes absolute sense - and may be correct. It is just fun to talk about a finger in chili - something different to discuss for once.

NIN plan unusual packaging

Nine Inch Nails is planning some unorthodox packaging for its new album, With Teeth, according to a posting on the band's official website by founder and frontman Trent Reznor. While not giving any clues of what the package will look like, Reznor wrote, "We're doing something that feels right to me but deviates from the norm. I have always thought the format of the CD effectively put an end to album artwork. (So) we designed something that feels in touch with how people experience music in 2005. We will be opening ourselves up for criticism here but I assure you when you see the big picture, it will all make sense."

With Teeth arrives in stores on May 3rd in both standard CD and DualDisc formats.

The DualDisc will include two separate mixes of the album -- one in DVD-Audio surround sound and one in Dolby 5.1 surround sound -- the video for the record's first single, "The Hand That Feeds," in-studio performance footage of three other new songs from the CD, a photo gallery and lyrics.

A limited edition vinyl version of the album will be released one week earlier, on 04.26.

Listening parties for With Teeth will take place in clubs in thirteen different cities, beginning tomorrow and ending on 04.02.

Nine Inch Nails begins a headlining North American theatre tour on 04.27 in San Francisco, with the trek wrapping up on 05.31 in San Diego. A larger fall trek is also in the works.

Hi Joe, It took me a while to figure out how to sign in to this web-page, your site is really cool by the way and I like the photoes of your recent tour to Aus/NZ, Penfolds is pretty cool too and I see that you prefer the Shiraz to that of the Chardonnay (I prefer the latter). Have been listening to your music for a couple of years now, since my son brought me to your concert in Dublin, Ireland, cool too I saw Steve Vai & Dream Theater in the same year, since them we haven't had any good bands in Ireland (I don't like U2). Impressed with your "Is there love in space" album, an interesting mix, the vocals are not bad either. I guess that you must be a ZZ Top fan, cause "I like the rain" reminds me of ZZ, a great band. Keep up the good work and look forward to you coming back to Ireland, sooooooon!!!
