Guitarmiester - I've got a fairly similar tone to Joe from My Chromeboy and to a lesser degree JS100. I'm running through a 525Q Wah Pedal to Boss Chorus pedal to Zoom II pedal. The Zoom II has lots of amp emulations - I'd have to check which amp/distortion setting it is (I think LEAD or OVERDRIVE). I'm then running this into Fender Champ 25E Amp on clean channel. I'm pretty happy with the Tone - but of course it does depend on the song. Joe uses the Whammy pedal a lot on the new CDs so that has a lot to do with his new sound. I'm definitely in the market for a JSX when I can afford one - seeing that in Concert the other day confirmed that for me.

Dear Joe: thanks for the memories and ringing in the ears in adelaide on the 20th (sunday night) you had some stiff competition with the v8 touring cars on that weekend with a gig after the race, but many people came, saw, and were conquered with shred fest '05, and i hope to see you back in adelaide real soon, as you may know, not many international acts come to adelaide, because many people think adelaide is the arse end of australia, but thanks so much, and also was there any recordings of the shows done in aussie? Yeah ok, you, me... we know it's bullshit. but imagine the poor bastards that read that and belive it! Who the hell listend to that sound anyway?? Beethoven(no offense to beethoven fans I like his music a lot it's just that he was the only deaf perason I could think of)??
Stevee T: Well man ppl have to be really crazy to vote highly for you :PP on the other hand this place is filled with crazy ppl (I will not name anyone) you did get in top 10 :P

And yeah it is incredibly nice of Joe to do something like this. If Jazzzzzzzy wins maybe Joe would have second thoughs ;) Still best of luck to you dad.

Phil: Nothing is new man. nothing is EVER new. One year ago things would probably still be the same (except for some details). SSDD all the time man.

Hello all :)

I am new to Js.. just wanted to say hi.. I saw Joe play (first time) at the Keswick back in Oct... I was floored and totally hooked on his groove & tone. Thanks Joe!! you brought the guitar back into my world my man!! after that show I really got back into it.. I broke out my 92 ibanez 550 (I am not sure if it's an SG? which I think is now the RG series) it was stuffed in it's case and sitting in my closet.. **hangs head low** lol

Thanks again, SR

Romanowski Ordered to Pay Ex-Teammate By JUSTIN M. NORTON Associated Press Writer

OAKLAND, Calif. - A jury ordered Bill Romanowski to pay former Oakland Raiders teammate Marcus Williams $340,000 in damages on Tuesday for smashing the tight end's face with a punch during a practice drill in 2003. Williams had been seeking millions of dollars in damages for the Aug. 24, 2003, attack, saying it broke his left eye socket, shortened his memory, gave him double vision and depression, and ended his career after less than two seasons.

"We are very pleased with the verdict because it establishes that there are limits to the violence in football," said Williams' attorney, James Brosnahan.

Williams received $40,000 in medical expenses and $300,000 for lost wages - about one season's salary.

Jurors reached their verdict after deliberating for two days. Romanowski showed no visible emotion as the verdict was read, but his wife gave him a hug.

Neither side said it plans to appeal the verdict.

"If Marcus Williams would have come to us then and said write us a check for $340,000 this would have been done in a heart beat," said Romanowski's attorney, Jeffrey Springer. "There was never an opportunity in this case to settle this case or resolve it for anything other than millions of dollars."

During the trial, Williams testified that after he blocked Romanowski during a running drill, Romanowski grabbed his helmet and then ripped it off before the crushing blow was delivered.

"This was not football - there are lines and limits and rules," Brosnahan said.

Romanowski told jurors he did punch Williams in the face, but did not remember much more about the fight.

"There was a fight that broke out," he said. "My reaction was a reaction from being pushed in the back."

Williams also testified that his life has now turned into nightmare, with no real hopes of playing football while at the same time seeing Romanowski in his dreams.

"He is satisfied that we established what we set out to establish ... that what Romanowski did was wrong," Brosnahan said. "You have to respect the jury because they listen carefully to all the evidence."

Williams, who entered the league as an undrafted free agent, played in 13 games as a rookie during Oakland's Super Bowl season. He was used primarily on special teams but was trying to earn a regular position before the injury.

The Raiders have claimed they are not responsible for any damages and fined Romanowski $60,000. Romanowski was not charged with a crime.

Romanowski, a married father of two, is known for fanatical behavior during his career and has been fined more than $100,000.

Romanowski, released by the Raiders last March after failing a physical, has a long history of scrapes with opponents and others. One of his more well-publicized confrontations came in December 1997, when he spit in the face of San Francisco 49ers receiver J.J. Stokes while playing for the Denver Broncos in a nationally televised game.

Gday Joe (and all the rest of you Satch freaks)

I caught your gig in Perth last night and I have to say it was incredible. I thought I had an inkling of what to expect after watching the Live in SF and G3 Live DVDs, but actually being there was something else altogether. I think one of my favourite parts of the gig had to be the 9-minute-plus version of "Always With Me..." - I was completely blown away. That, and I also remember the note you hit at the end of the first part of the solo in "Time" - you nailed the most "appropriate" pinched harmonic I think I've ever heard (live, at least). Thanks for coming out to Oz (and Perth esp.!) and putting on a fantastic show for everyone.

A couple of other things: one, have you ever thought of getting together with Oakley and doing your own signature range of shades? I know you've been wearing Oakley sunglasses for a fair few years now (at least in a lot of the live and promo material I've seen) so I think it'd be cool to see the Satriani signature range.

Lastly, and this one might be better (read: more quickly) answered by my fellow fans out there, I've got a 2003 model Ibanez JS1000 with the "BTB" colour scheme (mainly a darkish blue, with patches of navy blue on it - like a blue version of a cow). My question is: what does "BTB" stand for? I can't seem to find any info on the net about it and the Ibanez website says it only comes in one colour, BP - Black Pearl. Any takers?

Cheers all Rob
