Achoo - I wish I could have taken all this at a young age also!! I'm 38 and getting a degree in Civil Engineering from Portland State. I'm taking one music class a qtr (when I can) and will hopefully get a minor in music also. I here you about playing in a rutt. That is a big reason why I'm putting in the extra time for these music classes. I have a lot on my plate with engineering but I need something as a stress relief. At 26 you're still a puppy. lol Good luck with the nursing and forensics. I like the forensics too but hate studying chemestry. Off to work got to pretend to be an engineer.

Hickbert - I have a class in Oregon Land Use Law this qtr. Should be interesting. Keep an eye out I'm sure we'll have some good fodder for debate.

Defense Attorney Johnnie Cochran Jr. Dies

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in December 2003, died Tuesday at his home in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. He was 67.

Cochran's legal career representing both victims of police abuse and celebrities in peril converged under the media glare when he successfully defended O.J. Simpson from murder charges.

With his gift for courtroom oratory, Cochran became known for championing the causes of black defendants and for the iconic phrase, "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit," in Simpson's murder trial.

"He was a brilliant strategist who never lost touch with the common man," said Sanford Rubinstein, a former colleague. "He took particular pride in standing up with those who were wrongfully treated. He truly loved people and the public adored him."

While Cochran represented celebrities who included professional football players and rappers, he also stuck up for — as one colleague put it — the "common man."

Cochran represented a Haitian immigrant tortured by New York police, a 19-year-old black woman who was shot a dozen times by police as she sat in a locked car and a white trucker who was videotaped being beaten by a mob during the 1992 Los Angeles riots.

He proudly displayed copies in his office of the multimillion-dollar checks he won for ordinary citizens who said they were abused by police.

"The clients I've cared about the most are the No Js, the ones who nobody knows," he once said.

Over the years, Cochran represented football great Jim Brown on rape and assault charges, actor Todd Bridges on attempted murder charges, rappers Tupac Shakur on a weapons charge, Snoop Dogg on a murder charge and Sean "P. Diddy" Combs on gun and bribery charges stemming from a nightclub shooting.

Cochran used the "if it doesn't fit" phrase in his closing argument at the Simpson trial, describing the moment when the former football player tried on bloodstained "murder gloves" to show jurors they did not fit. One glove was found at the murder scene; the defense said the other glove was planted at Simpson's home by racist police.

Jurors found Simpson not guilty of the 1994 slayings of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.

"I've got to say, I don't think I'd be home today without Johnnie," Simpson said Tuesday by telephone from Florida. "I always tell people, if your kids or your loved ones got in trouble, you would want Johnnie. Even his adversaries respected him."

After Simpson's acquittal, Cochran appeared on countless TV talk shows, was awarded his own show on cable's Court TV, traveled the world giving speeches, and was parodied in films and on such TV shows as "Seinfeld" and "South Park."

In other cases, Cochran also represented former Black Panther Elmer "Geronimo" Pratt, who spent 27 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. When Cochran helped Pratt win his freedom in 1997 he called the moment "the happiest day of my life practicing law."

Although he frequently took police departments on in court, Cochran denied being anti-police and supported the decision of his only son, Jonathan, to join the California Highway Patrol.

achoo, I think you have me confused with one of the other girls. I'm not a teacher. Heck, I didn't like school THAT much. lol! Keep up the hard work!

bahduh, glad to hear Jordan is doing better. Give him hugs for us here at T2J :)

Benny, dude, don't even worry about what other people think. It's the wish of the family to have their little girl's life celebrated. If that involves music and a band, then so be it. Let those few people talk. When their day comes, if they want it to be a somber occasion with everybody wearing black listening to organ death music, then they can have it their way at that time. It's what this family wants, so don't even think about the wankers with their noses in the air.

Powerslave, I know the feeling. We have the new car blues payment thing going on too. My last car was paid off (I had it for 15 yrs), so now a car payment is a nice chunk o' change out the window every month, not to mention every friggin' utility increasing like never before in history. Bastards! lol! Good luck! I got Weiners album through MeyerJane Music. It just came out of FN last week or so.

PETE MULAS, Thanking me in the same post as thanking Joe! whoa! I'm so proud of you Pete. You deserve MUCH success in your life. As always, I wish you the best :) Is your cd for sale?

bigbunny, "don't they look like droppings? ;) ... . . .. . . ... .. " LMAO - they do now!

Stevee, only 10 minutes away! It doesn't get any better than that! We have 2 newer venues here that are only about 10 minutes away. One is more like a theater, and the other doubles as a hockey rink. We'll be seeing Billy Idol in May in the theater one, and ZZ Top in Aug. in the bigger one. I had bad seats there to see Godsmack, so I got floor seats for ZZ Top. I'm gonna need me Elton John Pinball Wizard boots for that show. lol!

Man, after a week of cloudy days, the sun is so bright this morning I feel like a vampire. Damn bats!

Happy Humpday!

Michelle, I would opt for a pair of Gene Simmons specials rather that the Pinball Wizard boots myself.. Closer connection to the music at hand.

SOTD Brandy by Looking Glass.. I know this is a sappy old song but I just heard it this morning and it still tugs me ok!! Maybe it needs a heavy metal treatment!!!

Wow, I am approaching post 969!!! Along with 696 a very special post count!!! I wish it could stick there forever!!

969, "post" "stick", sometimes I crack myself up.........

Hello everybody. I am French and I thus have a great deal of the evil to speak english. I have a question for the god of the guitar: When you planned to make a concert in France for to play your new titles? Oh, I am only 16 years old and I think of having made many faults because I do not speak English. I hope that everybody understands me?

On peut donc parler français?

Sinon je m'aide quand même du dictionnaire français/anglais pour parler. Je viens de traduire ça:

I didn't like Joe's new sound when he played on the modified Peavey XXX. And I don't know if his lastest album was created with sound his new ampli (the JSX); but the sound is similar to it. In fact, many people will say as me: the most beautiful "sound" is this who was outside heads the Marshall which Joe possessed during the concert to San Fransisco.

Clarky, DCK, or anyone else wih experience: I've been using my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and it seems to have these sympathetic vibrations on a handfull of notes when I play them on the guitar. It sounds like the tubes are rattling, and then I get a low frequency ugly overtone that goes with it. The tubes are new, and they look fine (not glowing cherry or anything) I also had it biased by pros, so it's nothing I did haha! And when I plug it direct, I hear none of this, which would lead me to believe nothing is wrong with the amp, tubes etc, and it's just vibration in the cabinet that is transfering through the preamp tubes. I've heard plenty of other times that this is a common problem in combo amps because the speaker is right next to the tubes. Any ideas about how to remedy this? Thanks

Good Morning Satchland - HOW IS EVERYONE?

A little behind on pages. It's great to see blue and to see it twice in a row. Well thats just GREAT. Joe mentioned a CD from Peter Mulas. Does anybody know or have any info on him? Website? email? He's most likely a member at Satchland. I'm curious and like to hear some of his music.

Lucy Sorets- Did you get a chance to see "The Surfing With The Alien" my son did in the fan art page?

Spizazz- I listen to your Satch covers. Sounds good. I think its cool we came from the same stompping grounds also. When my band plays out, I'd love to have you come to the show.

Steven Wilde- How you doing? The preloader problem is fixed. The mp3's were loading on the first frame causing the screen to stay black. check it out http://thebluesmavericks.com

Michelle-Estrela- How's everything?

Tasty - I love the joke. I was not offended. I'm a man. lol!!!! Sorry ladies. Blame it on the cavemen. They started it. lol!!!!

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYBODY !!!!
