sup peoples this is my first post i dont know what to say......... ummm

i would like to thank joe satriani for making crazy melodic music. just when i about given up all hope for music. my friend lets me borrow a cd called "'stange beautiful music" after listening to it i was hooked.lol. I had to let everyone i knew about your music. Almost everytime i got in my car and bump "mind storm" on the sterio full blast people go crazy "who's it buy" "where can i buy it" can i borrow it" not to sound like "mind "storm" is the only good song on strange beautifull music, its just that that's the song everyone likes to hear. it gets me and friends hyped for whatever we got to do.lol.

Just when i thought music could not get any better, the anathology cd comes out, and i hear "slick". Words cannot describe how good of a song "slick" really is.

Hey Joe...where you goin' with that guitar in your hand...

Fantastic Grove show, it was amazing to finally witness all those incredible licks live. Have you played "If I Could Fly" live yet? Any thoughts on G3 Next? All the Best....

Suzie 2000: Very true. Forgive me- I am just REALLY biased ;)

962: Indeed, III Sides and Pornograffiti are great musical acheivements. I think one of the reasons why I like Nuno and John Petrucci so much is their wide variety. Nuno shows that he can go from jazzy to funky to balladic to rockin' all in one great album...

Master Yoda: Sorry about your bad experience. It's things like that that cause my aversion to performing in front of many people...

Wow... so I saw An Evening with Joe Satriani right here in St. Louis just last year... amazing! My first ever Joe concert! I was strapped for cash over the summer, and thought I was doomed to never go, when my girlfriend got me tickets for our anniversary a few weeks before the concert! Needless to say, we're still happily together! : )
Such a great song list, Joe was energetic, wailing away on Chromeboy like nothing I'd ever imagined, and ending with my girlfriend's favorite, Always with Me, Always with You, and my favorite Satch Boogie. Thanks a lot Joe, you really made my decade!
Man I love jamming to Lords of Karma...

Hi mr. Satriani,

As one of your greatest fans, I'd really like to know how one can be trained by you in guitar playing . I ask , for I know that Kirk Hammet has been one of your trainees and I thaught perhaps you could help me to figure what I shoul do , or by which one of your other trainees I should be trained at first. I know this might sound kind of loud for some one to ask such things, but it's the only way left for a helpless gal in one of the 3rd world countries to become a guitarist.

I really appreciate your Strange Beautiful Music ! Thanks for your attention and taking me serious , Golnaz

Joe, you gotta read this..I know that in all the hundreds of messages posted here over a short amount of time it is highly unlikely that you will see this one... but what the hell i'll give it a shot..

This is quite uncanny actually, I was in the exact position Silverknight describes a few posts up... no cash.. thinking i couldnt go to the show.. and my girlfriend goes out and buys us satch tickets for our aniversary like 2 months ago (strange coincidence eh?).. lucky me.. unfortunately.. she for some reason thought the show was on the 19th... when in fact it was on the 13th .. (im talking about the Vancouver show here)... I of course did not have the tickets.. she was keeping them at her house.. I then hear on the radio today that the satch show last night was awesome... u can imagine my reaction... later that night she phones me up crying and feeling like absolute shit that she mixed up the date, lost 120 bucks, made me miss u play, and lost her oppurtunity to see you live for the first time..

I had seen u play at g3 with malmsteen before but was really looking forward to a more intimate and focused night of your music... at any rate, the poor girl feels horrible, and i was wondering.. just maybe.. since everyone knows your such a nice guy... if theres any way u can help me out? I know its our own damn stupid fault and that I may very well be mocked here for being so ignorant of such an important fact.... and that its none of your concern some tards didnt show up for your concert... but ya never know.. i felt i had to try something... lol... we just really wanna see you play and i feel so bad for her.... =\ aw well..

bring g3 back here in the fall then at least and think of playing bells of lal at the vancouver show when u do ;)

Makes you realize what's important.

Hickbert - I too have been the way of the Jackson. And have a bit of the Okie in me. Saw Alan on the Mercury tour (50 Merc my favorite car). Crazy 'bout a Mercury I was also singing All My Exes Live in Texas Wed at work. It was a big hit.LOL When my now wife first started dating country music was the only music that we could decide on while in the car. So, now mixed in with Metallica and Vinnie Moore is Garth, Alan, Joe Diffy (love that guy), etc. Time to get thegirls up for school. Plus I have to start preparing my mind for tomorrow night. JOE!!!.

Cheese - Have a safe trip and call me if you need anything.

What does love mean?

A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-Olds, "What does love mean?"

The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love." Rebecca- age 8

When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4

"Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK." Danny - age 7

"Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss" Emily - age 8

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a fri! end who you hate." Nikka - age 6 (we need a few million more Nik ka's on this planet)

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday." Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6

"During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn't scared anymore." Cindy - age 8

"My mommy loves me more than anybody . You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night." Clare - age 6

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine-age 5

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford." Chris - age 7

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4

"I know my older ! sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones." Lauren - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you." (what an image) Karen - age 7

"Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn't think it's gross." Mark - age 6

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget." Jessica - age 8

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor! , the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry"
