Message from ALFF. SHOWBOX THEATER Seattle,WA.4 05. HELLO jOE ,

YOU SHOULD GO BACK TO YOUR MARSHALLS & WELLS AMPLIFIERS THOSE PEAVEYS ARE NOT CUTTING IT.

TO MATT BISSINET: YOUR BASS RIG SOUNDED GREAT, BUT THE HOUSE P.A. WAS CHEAP AND THIS WAS EVIDENT DUE TO THE DYNAMICS OF YOUR PLAYING. THE MAINS OUT FRONT SOUNDED LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO VOMIT AND BURST APART.

I BELIVE OTHER THAN THAT THE SHOW WAS GREAT. YOU ALL HAD YOUR MOMENTS THAT WE ALL SHARED.

Hey Joey,

Yesterday, the jazz fest begans for two weeks as it does every year way down here in NawLeens (New Orleans)... Where ya at? Where Ya At - is also a local rag around here. The crawfish be jumpin', the Mississippi is still black, and rollin', the bling bling is blinging, the local coon-ass folks will dig ya. S. Vai came by and said hi the udda day. One thing about here not elsewhere was dah stippers on stage. Ya baby, uncle Steve is good to his cronies.

Joey baby, you really started someting with your surf album. The best rocken rocker for the whole *@#$% decade!

I'd like to hear ya do mature stuff too. Perhaps even sophisticated, latin, jazzy, afican, voodoo or theatical and a whisper of another hemisphere. Cross some lines, barriers, drop the rock world on it's ear again. Get a raunchy singer. Ya - I know, it's a lot of work. Well, always hoping! Metheny has 16 grammys. That shouldn't be ignored. Holdsworth has none. Go figure. Just an idea.

Yo, that Satch swing thing has got it goin' on! ZZ Top eat yur heart out!

Jimmy Page did the Death Wish triolgy (w/C. Bronson)... When's your turn?

Humbly, ~V~

aussieRGman I dont mind trying to help you with your networking solutions. I have some background in networking myself so I could try and help you with whatever problems or questions you might have. Going wireless is a pain in the butt to setup in all honesty but once your connected you shouldnt have problems being disconnected unless there is some sort of electrical storm or something going on, I know I get cut off when the weather is bad sometimes. Cables can be annoying and get in the way but are easier to install and get connected and are cheaper depending on the setup you use though. If you use Giga bit LAN which runs at 1000 MB per second compared to the usual 100 MB Ethernet cables that you can buy these days, giga bit LAN is expensive but runs extremely fast. Wireless is not nearly as fast giga bit or regular Cateogry 5 Ethernet cable which runs 100 MB per second but still it works depending on what your doing. If your into mass downloading of large files and large file sharing either Gigabit LAN or fiber optics is your best bet but both are quite expensive and not as common yet but you can get them. I wish I had gigabit wireless LAN in my home cause I got lots of files to transfer and it would be easier if its fast.

Speaking of band woes, our drummer recently stagedived and, as you might have guessed, no one caught him, so after falling 5 feet, he broke his arm badly!!!! quite funny now actually. its been 3 weeks and he can actually play really well, hes still in a cast but hes all set for our gig next week!

Mike and Steve - The upside toall this is that I can now look for a higher quality of musician. These guys were ok but I was (not to be arrogant) a notch above from technique to basic musical knowlege. If I asked for Bb7#13 chord all I would get back would be the look of four deer in headlights. So we'll see how it goes.

SteveeT: Yeah, brushes are more quiet, but you can't execute the rolls the way you can with sticks or thunder rods, and he needs those capabilities. I liked te idea about the freezer bag...except I think instead of putting it over the snare I'll just put it over my head and then I won't hear the drum so loud. What do you think?

man, I can't wait, I get to jam with almost all my friends tonight. it's gonna be so fun. one guys is coming (he is the best guitarist in shcool in my opinion) it's gonna be so fun. I wish I was in Seattle watching Steve Vai but this will still be really fun. maybe next time. what I am trying to do is get my parents to let me go to Ozz Fest this summer, that would be sweet! they didnt' say no, but they did't say yes. I hope it works out, that would be fun. I mostly want to see Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, that would rock!

Here's a plea for informed opions for the guitarists out there..... I was a in a local music shop and came across an Ibanez SA220......picked it up....bad for the old bank account!. It played smooth as butter, and I fell in love with the feel, but absolutely hated the color. So I look through the Ibanez catalog and decided the S470 suits my aesthetic sense much better. Both are roughly in the same price range.

So then I try a JS100 at a different shop.....love the body, but whoever set it up (assuming it was ever touched after it came out of the box) had absolutely no idea what they were doing. Never have I played a guitar with so much fret buzz......Buzz Lightyear didn't have that much buzz. Which I don't attribute to the design or the model, just the lack of a decent setup.

So.....if I'm buying a "tide me over" guitar in the $500 price range to do me until I can buy both a JS1000 BP and an ESP VIper Standard, would the S470 be a better value for the money than the JS100? I do like the ZR tremolo system that comes on the S470. The SA220 played like a dream, but I'm not exactly jazzed about the SAT tremolo system nor the color of the binding on it.

Opinions? ;-)

Yeah, 962 there will be pics of this one, and there will be one of me doing a dance pretending to be camp, some guy snapped a pic of me when I wasn't paying attention but oh well all in good spirits lmao

Not drunk, just tipsy, and I only bough 3 out of 5 pints. Its amazing how far chat up lines go.

But I got runs in 3 days and i day in the gym....I'm trying to get back on track. My jeans are looser so that's a good sign. Have a great weekend! Oh....I left a message on Steven's machine. Yes, i am worried too..... :-(

Slans: Hey Roy! How r u? I hope you r staying outa trouble, at least not getting hurt.....How's the house coming along? U and the Mrs all settled in? It took me a few years, and I still have stuff that needs to be done. 4 yrs, but it was the best thing i ever did was to buy my home. Tell me about M. Lee Firkins. I never heard about him. U know I love the blues & SRV. I look forward to hearing great music. I know he's incredible if u are listening to him. Take care. ;-)) I've missed talkin to u... I can't believe I'll be able to buy your CD so soon! Can't wait!!

FablawyerSBM: Hi Ronnie! How was Thialand and GA? I can't wait to hear about your trip. Send me some cool photos from Thai if u can. I have an extra ticket to see Joe Perry from Aerosmith on May 5th 8pm at Webster Hall NYC if u are interested, let me know ok? I'm looking forward to hanging with u in NYC again soon. :))

Cheese101: Thanks again Traci! I loved reading about your adventure, so very cool! U will love Vai!!! I didn't mention how blown away I was by his stage presence and the music was just amazing!!! His shows were so inexpensive. NYC was more of course, always is. I couldn't believe the base price was 20-25 bucks at other venues! Amazing price for incredible talent!! Have a great time at the show!!! You'll love it!!

SteveeT: How's it going? I imagine u got the new guitar? How's the lesson with Greg Howe going? I know u must be learning so much, a great opportunity! So what's with u and tastey? hmmmm ....Ain't I cute too? J/K! I'm back in the gym, look out here comes trouble! I have to send u a photo of when I competed in bodybuilding. I'm on a mission to get back in shape, already've lost a few pounds. Carry on dude....... Oh! EJ in NYC July 9th @ BB King's Club! U going?......I'll be there, front row. ;-))

BigBunny: Thanks for the kind and wise words. It's hard for me to not blame myself for things not working out. I always feel responsible even when I should'nt. I'm working on changing that, trust me. I loved your photos from your "encounter with joe" ....very cool!!

powerslave214...IMHO---my JS100 kicks ass..I'm worried the JS2PRM won't live up to it...I've played a 1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom for the last 31 years, and I still can't believe I play the JS100 all the time now...(but you've gotta have a good Luthier to set it up, and you've got to have a lucky JS100 too)...lol...good luck

PhryDom...nice to see ya!!

jblaze1...hope you hit the lottery...this way no worky...lol

marimariSRV...only 1 Greg Howe lesson so far, next lesson next Saturday...JS2PRM's are supposed to ship April 1st... hmmmm.....let's see...it's almost May already....arggghh....All the ladies here are cuties....I'll be at the Gym tomorrow too....EJ at BB's...wonder if they're are any front row tickets left....btw...if you'd care for one of my CD samplers....I'll send you a copy if you'd like one...just need your address...just send it to info@stevetrott.com

Delfino - I almost forgot to answer you. I had a singer that used to put all kinds of stomp boxes in his mic line. He always had some weird effect that he wanted to use in songs. So, yea go with it you might find something that you like.
