Suzie - A T2J-fest is kinda the plan!!! I'm just gonna buy standing tickets; that way, you can push your way to where you want to stand!!! It's at the Hammersmith Apollo too, which is a reasonably large venue, so it should be fine. There's also a really nice pub in the tube station opposite, although it's quite small...

MariMari Ha ha, I think that you've confused me with someone intelligent - lol You're damn right as well 'smart' is way better and in your case smart and driven. How come you've ended up re-visiting music now ? I'm assuming a change inpersonal circumstances ?

Fabollox lol.............. I just hear the Scottish accent when Roy talks t y............... I know that a change in his 'activities' gave rise to his nick and I've always assumed that 'slan' is a Scots 'so long' ? I've checked out the whole site and Mike SB's interview (which was great), looking good man. How are you going to distribute the album ? Have you thought about guitar9.com ?

Naty So you're back now? :-)

Delfino, yup, that was me bro! Difficulty depends on what kind of fixed bridge you want to use. Naturally, if it's a strat-type guitar, then using a Fender-type fixed bridge is easiest. It looks like a start trem but is screwed on....you just have to swap them, and the worst you'll have to do is fill the old holes and re-drill, which is easy.

What I decided to do, however, was put a Les Paul type fixed bridge on a Strat type guitar. A large part of the reason was that the bridge I was fitting had fine-tuners, and with locking tuners on the other end with a graphite nut, I figured it ought to be pretty stable.

The difficulty in doing this is that Les Pauls have a high-up bridge with the neck angled back at 10 degrees, so you still get the low action. To achieve the low action on a strat-type guitar without having the neck angled back (which would have been far easier!) means routing a cavity on the body for the bridge to sit in. I was very lucky to have access to a router and workshop to play with! It's not the best-looking job in the world, but as a prototype it's very succesful, and it's very stable.

If you want to have a look, there's a couple of photos here: http://community.webshots.com/album/121661929VRygwS/2

It's the one labelled as "GSA600"!

Suzie, aww I'm dead jealous now...I want my pound back too!

Clarky: That's a pretty cool little message from Fripp!! If he likes it you must be doing something right....right? haha! BTW, you played the guitars on the album right? You're both the album and live guitarist for DC band right? At any rate, nice job man! That's what we all really do this music thing for, the joy of expression, and ultimately the respect from our peers for our efforts.

Nice job, I'm thinking of changing the neck and the bridge just because of my own preferences to different materials/styles.

How much would a standard fender fixed-bridge generally cost, as well as how much would a maple fret-board cost, as these are the components that seem to suit my requirements the best.

I am also at the stage of choosing pickups and I like the sound of Seymour Duncan Duckbuckers (for bridge) for strat (which is what the guitar basically is) but I still need to choose a neck and mid pickup...we'll see how it goes. My custom "Delfino" guitar is going to be the one I take to uni once its finished.

Does anyone know what all the different controls on the Fender Jaguar/Jazzmaster are?

I have never known, and can't remember playing one.

DELFINO- We have got a Fender Jaguar, I must admit though it has one or two controls that have never been fully investigated! I am not the most technical person on the planet!!! LOL. Also found out a design flaw in the jaguar is that the distance between the bridge and the base of it is too big, so certain lighter strings will snap... I do love it though, it's a 1962 re-issue antigua finish and I just LOVE it! One of my favourites!

Hey alll.... Bad horse: 5 years ago, when i first started, my guitar techer introduced me to blues... and that set me straight on a bluesy path. So most of the stuff i play is blues based, and I think its a true soul sharing style. Have you seen Crossroads, not the britney spears one! It is a classy film about blues made in the early 80's. Steve Vai plays a part in the end as the devils guitar player! I highly recommend you and everyone else to watch it, especially all the bluesists in here!
