Right SlickPotatoHead! What abou sound? I mean evry musician have to get his own sound (voice) as Jimi Hemdrix had. So it is important for one's individuality. And you also have to get something spesial in music that close only to your understanding. I realy wish you to spend more time with your guitar!

Have fun!!

Greetings, Satchlings!

Yep, it's a long weekend (Queen's Birthday) which means State Youth Camp. Was a blast. The boys kept us up (no surprises there), took some injuries for the team, ate too much good food, had some great discussions etc etc. All the things you do when you're a teenager or you're young at heart and haven't ruined your body yet.

Had to drive home by myself early this morning, as the University doesn't care about public holidays and regularly allocates 9am exams to me on public holidays. Went pretty well despite 12 hours sleep and extreme amounts of exercise in the last 72 hours. Got radio tonight 'til 12 so sleep will be appreciated when it eventually comes.

DaveW: "Who's Maria?" I'd tell you, but you'd say "yeah I know"

Greetings Joe,

Listen I just wanted to ask you if you could set up a lesson tab on your site. I have the 41 private lessons book......believe me it will take the rest of my life to work through all of it at the pace I'm going! But I would really like to see maybe some of your thoughts these days on techniques you have obviously mastered. Most importantly***** I would love to see and hear you bestow upon us examples of pitch axis*****!!! and I've noticed how you will pivot between particular mode groupings, these types of lessons would be awsome!

Anyway, Ive been requsting "lifestyle" on the local radio station, and they are playing it. Yep, I got your back Satch! -Rock 0n-

Ladies and gents,HERE is a review of the show attended by Mari, Ronnie, Stevee T and me... Great shows, and here is a description, by Frank himself of the tech problems he had to deal with for that show....

"Well, I'm glad to be back talking to you all. The dates were real good... the crowds were better than ever reaction-wise, and we even sold out B.B. King's. Now THAT was unexpected!

But the trip wasn't without it's problems. 2 minutes before going out on stage at B.B.'s, my entire guitar rig went into the crapper. We tried to make it work from the side of the stage for over half an hour... no luck. In the end, I told the guys to just rip out my speakers from my rack and stick them in a Marshall. I have never, in my entire career, done a full gig with a Marshall. I've never even done a full tune with one.

And now, with a sold out show in N.Y., and great expectations from quite a few folks, public and industry alike, I've gotta go on and do a show with an amp that I have no idea what it'll do. Plus, I was running it as a 4 ohm amp into a 2 ohm load, which my speakers are. I just knew it was only a matter of time before the output transformers overheated... they didn't though, but they sure got hot. But the amp popped it's ohmage selector switch out during Avi's solo, and it was a dicey minute or two while we looked for why the Marshall was not working anymore. Then we found the switch and fixed it just in time. Close call. Not to mention I didn't have half my rack stuff... my delays, reverb... stuff like that. So I just improvised and did the best I could do.

It was pretty tricky there... my stuff is usually pretty clean, and the Marshall is anything but clean... but I did the best I could, modified some of the stuff on the fly, and still managed to do the three hours. I want to thank everyone who was there for being so into it... it helped me immeasurably.

Now I'll look into the rig to find out what happened to it. I have 6 backup systems in that rig, and every single one failed... Murphy's Law.

But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because it forced me to work just a little bit harder and that turned it into a success. I don't know..., maybe if I'd have had my rig normal I might have been a bit more complacent, so in the end it worked out better than if it hadn't have broken down.

But I sure don't want it to happen again because, let me tell you, that 30 minutes was a REALLY long 30 minutes! "

Lemme tell you, despite all this the sound was superb!!!!

mikesb, i can relate to that story, ive been in shows with previous bands and things just decide not to work or an amp would die in the middle of the first set or strings would break right at the best part of a solo all part of playing live I guess,

I guess thats why joe has techo's with him on the road :-)

Classic Pink Floyd Lineup to Play Live 8

LONDON - Organizers of the London Live 8 concert said Sunday that the British rock band Pink Floyd would perform with its classic lineup at the July event for the first time in more than two decades.

Guitarist David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason, bass player Roger Waters and keyboard player Richard Wright have not performed on stage together since 1981.

The group, which achieved major success with their 1973 album "Dark Side Of The Moon," will join musical acts including Elton John, Madonna, Paul McCartney and Coldplay at the anti-poverty concert in Hyde Park on July 2.

"Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G-8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world," Gilmour said.

"It's crazy that America gives such a paltry percentage of its GNP to the starving nations."

Waters, the group's founder, split with the rest of the band after a falling-out in the 1980s.

"Any squabbles Roger and the band have had in the past are so petty in this context, and if re-forming for this concert will help focus attention then it's going to be worthwhile," Gilmour said

PhryDom - I know ATL bt Cabbagetown?? I stood in the rain for 2 days and watch Lou reed, Tom Petty, The Killers, Interpol, Miachael Tolcher, Keane, Joan Jett. Actually Tom Petty and Tolcher were pretty good. Wasn't really my scene this year, but its always fun.

Cuthbert - 2 buckhead malls now - Lenox and Phipps - need lotsacash for the latter.

Mikesb\Mari - got the pic of us from BBs yet?

SteveeT\Clarky - CD out in a few weeks. I have a couple of things to do with it first. You will be able to get it on cdbaby or from Roy's site. Site is better because I don't have to pay seller fees that way. Of course, those contributing will get one for free.
