SupaaDave, ah now I understand.....sorry, I thought you had one of the older ones where you cut the ball end off and clamp it in, but now I realise you have one of the newer ones where you keep it....right?!
marimariSRV, nice one! I don't think it will stop the post-chatting but it's still worth a try! Thanks for the email :-)

Mikesb - well... obviously I love my lil' 'un... and he's a leftie... and I'll teach him guitar... and I have lefties for him to play...
but if he touches any of the guitars in the studio -
Wrath, Lust, Pride, Envy, Avarice or Sloth
he dies...
one rule.. a simple one...
delfino - hahaaa... yes I've heard something similar
when someone asks me what I'm drinking I just say "Stella"...
says it all.... lmao...
ocps - now I'm going to make a dreaful generalisation.... but....
the few lefties playing rightie that I've seen up close seem only to be about to do legato centric playing....
not too much alternate picking etc...
that just tells me that the sync issue never really goes away.. it just gets "improved"
and then you get complete bastards like Michael Angelo who speed picks like a demon leftie and rightie....
but he ain't fair...
SteveT - and now you're on 1666.... The Great Fire of London
1664 helps with history.....
1664: great beer... London gets totally wasted...
1665: London got real sick = The Great Plague - Black Death
1666: The Great Fire of London - which killed off the plague everyone was happy.. time for a pint..
YaYo - Locrian mode - I read your post and was going to comment on it but didn't really have time to give the thought that it deserves......
the reason that it sounds unstable is tat the 5th is not perfect.. so right away this'll make many folks cringe... and for most others, your ear will be naturally pulled towards the center key and you'll be begging for it to resolve...
in classical music chord VII was only ever used in inversion [mostly 1st and 2nd inv's - chord: VII7b and VII7c] - making for a nice alternative for chord II or IV during a cadence...
so all this means that chord VII is not somewhere tat most guys would hang out on for long... it's mostly used for colouration...
when you look at this tonality from a modal perspective this instablity and "need to resolve" is very strong...
if you want to create music purely using this most, note selection is more critical than with other modes if you want the remove the feeling of the need to resolve....
personally... I like it... I like the need to resolve... giving the impression the you are going to... and then don't.. or resolve some place else.... especially some place horrid...
like dangling a candy bar in front of a baby... then just as he closes his eyes and makes to take a bite......
you quickly swap it out with a dog poop wrapped in nettles and sprinkled lightly with wasps, broken glass and razor blades.....
SURPRISE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! .... bwwwaaaahahaahaahahahaa..
godguns - nice one bro... so everything is nice and happy???
are you looking forward to January?? cos it'll get a bit nippy I bet..

962...lol...no, I do have the type where you need to cut the ball end off.....but I completely removed the bolt that would normally keep the string tight at the bridge, and ran the string through the hole where the bolt was. Fortunately the ball end is bigger than the hole, so I still have a functional guitar. When I stripped the inside thread the original E string I had was useless because I had already cut the ball end off. Luckily I had extra E's handy.

Well the revision session today was pretty much a waste of time, I mean whats the point in turning up when you havent got notes...
People honestly test my patients sometimes...taking what notes I have and not contributing anything themselves...arse-wanks.
My mate has lent me "One flew over the cuckoos nest" as I have never watched it, so that should be something to do before going down the pub.
Can't wait to see whose on the T2J CD, cant wait to see the album artwork either :-)

Good Morning Satchland........How is Everyone?
Band update..... Well after waiting since March of "04" I'm getting ready to leave to audition the rhythm section and the phone rings. The bass player called to cancel 'cause his car was stolen from the train station. He works in Chicago and commutes by train to the city(smart dude )He emailed me today to appologize and to reschedule. We rescheduled for the week of June 27th. Before this line up I was talkin' with a different drummer while looking for a bass player. When I finially found one(the guy above) I scheduled a audtion. Then United Ailines goes on strike(drummers employer) He calls and can't committ 'cause he don't know if he has a job or not( can't blame him for that and told him so)The judge was supposed to make a ruling on May 30th on the strike. I never heard from him again and now the bass player's car gets stolen. Can you say frustrated. I know these guys have bigger issuses and problems then me. I got to ask you. What does a guitarist or any other musician have to do to find people to play with? I can't believe it's been this hard. LIke I tell Steven Wilde....Keep your chin up. I guess that's all I can do. The good news is. I've rescheduled the audition and I got you guys to bitch at......LOL.......
ka girl..... Yes, I'm in a band or...... read above. Visit me at http://www.thebluesmavericks.com sign the guest book or let me know what you think. Keep playin' your guitar. It's the greatest feeling in the world to play an instrument. Good luck to you. How's the down hill bike training going?
Clarky.... I see you mentioned Micheal Angelo. He lives in the Chicago area and is obviously real well known . He just signed a gorgeous Redhead to his M.A.C.E. label. She is a great player. Her name is Katrina Johansson. Ever hear of her? I love Redheads.... That's why I married one. Here's the link http://www.katrinaguitar.com
OCPS470...... You're right about Morse. He picks everything. I was at the last NAMM show in Chicago years ago. Steve was there endoresing Music Man. He was playing his signature guitar through a Rockman(remember those)He had the output plug into a headphone amp. You were able to just walk up and put on a pair of headphones and watch him wail. I mean wail. It was great. I remember at the Korg booth{under a small tent} I heard this great music so I walk in It's Steve Smith on Drums Frank Gambale on guitar and Tom Costner on the keys.. I met Andy Timmons...he was there for the sustainiac pickup and with Danger Danger. It was friken awesome to be there.
Estrela...Mari.... Thanks for the email. That was pretty funny.
Speaking of funny...How's are Mcguyver girlie doing?
GODGUNSGUITARS.....Glad you're settled in. Also glad you found an amp.
Nola..... Where are you?
Have A Great Day Everyone !!!!!!
Edit----hoiguy79..... I like the approch to Always With Me..... I know what you mean about the bad notes. It's not bad. You played around the Melody real well. It's a respectable version. Great job.

Keniko, the MacGuyver girl hasn't had to make any contraptions lately. LOL! I've been busy getting stuff together for my nephew. We're having a party for him tonight. His apartment burned down in the middle of the night about 2 weeks back. He's a hard sleeper, so when the guy banging on his door woke him up, he left with what he was wearing - a t-shirt and boxers. Being half asleep, he figured it was going to be like a fire drill and he would be allowed back in shortly. Not the case. He didn't have much, but everything he did have was lost. Wallet, car keys, about 100 DVD's, pictures, all his papers - everything. They did find one wooden box which contained his eyeglasses, a deck of cards, and a few other useless things that were all soggy wet. He was very grateful to have his glasses! We're all getting together and getting him some things to replace the things he lost. It's not going to add up to to much, but it will help. Knowing him, he'll think it's cool having all new stuff, which is probably better than his old stuff, but it sure sucks to lose everything you own. I think he thinks it's just a picnic for shits and giggles.
One of the things I'm giving him is a nice Buxton wallet I bought for my husband, but he never used it because it's to small. I printed out a wallet size photo of a magnet I thought was funny, and put it in the first picture slot. It has a guy's smiling face on it and it reads " When things look bad I just remember that I've got a real big d**k and things seem much better." Yep, ya can always count on Aunt Shel for moral support ;-)
It's a BEAUTIFUL day here in PA! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Anyone remember the movies The Outsiders & Rumble Fish? This September there's gonna be a DVD release of each, with deleted scenes, director commentaries, new (but old) soundtrack etc. Just around my birthday too :-) Loved those movies (and the books) since I was very young... oh and handsome too.... laters!

Congratulations Boston, MA & Boulder, CO.......you lead the country overall in Marijuana use !! If those census takers had just come a little further into northern Minnesota, they would have had to change everything. It grows better than corn and helps some folks get through the long, cold winters up here ;) Bwa-ha-ha !!
PhryDom....I visited Atlanta and New Orleans once....New Orleans was so sickingly hot you did'nt want to leave the air conditioned hotel.

michelle..... That's to bad about your Nephew. If my band was togather I'd seriously help with a fund raiser in Chi-Town for him. At least he's alive and I hope well. Lives are kinda hard to replace. I love the photo in the wallet. Yep Aunt Shel has done it again. Unfortunately for me and my wife I'm just an average guy with an average......
On a happier note...lol!!!!! I'm proud to announce my son Aaron has graduated Devry and tonight is the ceremony( I know a guy who wrote a song with that title)We're so proud of our boys. I love being a parent. They have made our lives so great. With Fathers Day Sunday. It's the best present Dad could get. To have two wonderful young adults. I can't wait to be a Grandpa( Did I really say that)....
Have A Great Weekend Everyone !!!!!!! Happy Fathers Day !!!!!
Edit......SlickPatatoHead.... Crossroads is a cult classic. I love that movie also.
