Hey Joe,
Not like 2 Jam with Marty Friedman as his music 4 speed (2003) is a bit like your'e Engines of creation and me thinks this/you's would sound FAB together.......just a thought, and thats all (genisis)
Love, peace and happiness and good stuff too..J.Becker & family.

Hello Keniko,
Yeah... I've been pretty busy lately traveling with my job and all! Trying to catch up on all the emails, satchland postings and just calls to family and friends. It's been lots of fun... but you got to work at it to stay in touch.
Sorry I'm going to miss you for the gig this Saturday, but yes I'll have a video clip recording on my website for all to see. I'll let you know when it's completed.
As for the holiday... you have a safe and wonderful time with everyone up in Wisconsin. I love it there! So much to do and lots to see. Enjoy!
Talk to ya soon,
Spizazz

PhryDom, cool, you got exactly what I meant! Also, I find when I do know the gist (or is it jist?) of a phrase or verse or melody or something I then find it a lot easier to put in the extra bits. Hal Leonard books are good but I do think they over-do it!

Good Morning Satchland..... How Are WE Today?
Please don't go to Florida to swim.
Stevee T..... I see Stevee has a new toy. Awesome !!!!!. I don't much about the 2488. I do know if it's a Tascam is got to be good. I had (going back to "78") a Tascam 234 syn cassette. This was pre Porta studio days. It was a two track cassette player/recorder. From there I bought the first porta studio model ....Tascam 144, then went the 246, then the 8 trk rack model( 688 maybe?) the Adat and now Pro Tools LE. Tascam stuff is awesome. I had one of there analog boards for years. I loved that stuff. So how do you like it? What features does the 2488 have? Is it a all in one box with cd burning? What was your recorder before the 2488? I read somewere Bruce Springsteen had recorded a cd in a pro studio and didn't like the sound. He bought a porta studio...did the cd in his living room and that's what was released. Amazing. I love technology and if I had the money I'd be the biggest gear slut you'd ever know. Anyway, I'm happy for ya'.
Band update.... Audition tonight. I'm psyed. I got a email from another rhythm section. These guys played with a well know Blues singer in the Chi-Town area named Deb Sietz. I'm sending them a cd to rehearse to. I'll let you know what happens. It's funny..... You wait and wait and all of sudden the sky opens and these rhythm sections start pouring down on me. Cool.....
Have A Great Day Everyone.

962 living over here makes me doubt my spelling even more that it used to! lol according to dictionary.com it's gist and not jist... but whatever... I agree with you - once you know the gist it's easier to see wtf they're talking about with the little grace notes & accidentals... I can see why they do it though - if they didn't a load of anoraks would probably write in saying "there's sounds on the record that aren't in the book!" lol...
mom it's cloudy today, so pretty good... I hope it rains! Yesterday it started cloudy then went all sunny and hot and crap :-(

michelle...now every time I see a thong...your cauliflower comes to mind....lmao.
Keniko...good luck with the auditions!!
The Tascam 2488 is 24 bit /24 track porta studio with on board effects, synth & drum machine along with the built in CD burner....It also allows for 270 virtual tracks on top of the 24 dedicated tracks. Its very easy to use, and the price tag isn't unreasonable, great bang for the buck
I've been using an Alesis 8 track VHS format ADAT machine which sounds great, but alas, I normaly record stereo for drums, keys + guitars so there goes the neighborhood.
Next stop Pro Tools Very Nice Studio
big bad moon 1889....welcome back!!

STEVEE T- thanks man its god to be back
so i just got back from the orthodontist. i hate that place but today was my last visit thank god!
got tix to go see eric johnson at BB kings down in time square in the city on july 9th, it should be an awsome show.
im looking to get a strat but dont want to spend a lot of money, im looking in to the fender standard strat and put texas special pick-ups in it. ive read good things about it, if anyone has played it or owns it, and could give some feedback on it that would be awsome.

Stevee T....... Happy 1700..... Like I said Tascam stuff is awesome. A pair of powered speakers and you got a 24trk studio at 24bit that fits under your arm. You gotta love that. I love technology. Speaking of..... consider this..... When Adat hit in the early "90's" one Adat was around 4k (give or take)...now the HD24 is 24trk for $1500. Now that's technology. Sounds like you got a winner. I don't think you'll be running out of tracks soon. If you do ...... well I just gotta hear that song. Have fun.
Ohhh....I just finished watching the web cast again.
JOE....YOU ARE THE MAN..... Just an incredible display of musicianship. Awesome !!!!!!!!
