petrucci_js: lol see it is fun. I would get lessons from him but I cant. He is my dads best friend, and I dont really see him very often. I think that he has been playing for about... 10 years. I am really sure how long though. I never really took the time to ask him. Maybe I should. How long have you been playing?

Hannah: are you in here?

ka girl: I have been playing for 3 years.

Wow, 10 years! My guitar teacher has been playing for about 25 or 30 years and even he doesn't know all of Joe's songs. HOWEVER, I am sure that he could if he wanted to. He is really crazy at guitar! In a good way of course.

petucci_js: I am not sure if he has been playing for 10 years or not I was just guessing. He could have only been playing for 4 years. He started listening to Joe when he was 14.

that is funny because I have only been listening to Joe for about 6 years and I am more of a fan than he is. It seams that every other word that I say is Joe Satriani, or something about him. I cant get enough of him. It drives me absolutly crazy.

ka girl: 4 years??!! If you're right, then he must practice alot. I love the guitar; it's a beuatiful instrument. But I'm not one of those guys that practices 12 hours a day. Hmmm...come to think of it, I wonder how good I would be if I praticed 12 hours a day...? I'd probably still be no good...lol

OK I got to go but I talk to you like tomorrow or some thing. Bye.

Joe, I graduated from San Marin High (Novato, CA) in 1982, and was the guy responsible for getting The Squares to play our senior prom at The Fairmont Hotel in S.F. You guys were great! Unfortunately, several years ago I lost the two EP cassette tapes I had from The Squares. Any chance of getting any of The Squares songs on .mp3 (I know you've moved on, but apparently I haven't! I still have a couple of songs stuck in my head: "Let me take your picture;" and the cover of "I love how you love me"). Sincerely, Mike Atkins mvatkins9@san.rr.com now residing in San Diego, CA

Funny enough to share...... WOMAN'S PERFECT BREAKFAST She's sitting at the table with her gourmet coffee. Her son is on the cover of the Wheaties box. Her daughter is on the cover of Business Week. Her boyfriend is on the cover of Playgirl. And her husband is on the back of the milk carton.

WOMEN'S REVENGE "Cash, check or charge?" I asked, after folding items the woman wished to purchase. As she fumbled for her wallet I noticed a remote control for a television set in her purse. "So, do you always carry your TV remote?" I asked. "No," she replied, " but my husband refused to come shopping with me, and I figured this was the most evil thing I could do to him legally."

UNDERSTANDING WOMEN (A MAN'S PERSPECTIVE) I know I'm not going to understand women. I'll never understand how you can take boiling hot wax, pour it onto your upper thigh, rip the hair out by the root, and still be afraid of a spider.

MARRIAGE SEMINAR While attending a Marriage Seminar dealing with communication, Tom and his wife Grace listened to the instructor, "It is essential that husbands and wives know each other's likes and dislikes." He addressed the man, "Can you name your wife's favorite flower?" Tom leaned over, touched his wife's arm gently and whispered, "It's Pillsbury, isn't it?

CIGARETTES AND TAMPONS A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles. The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him. He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife. She directs him down the correct aisle. A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter. She says, confused, "Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife? He answers, " You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooo-ooo--oo-ooo much cheaper. So, I figure if I have to roll my own .......... so does she. ( I figure this guy is the one on the milk carton! )

cont.....

WIFE VS. HUSBAND A couple drove down a country road for several miles, not saying a word. An earlier discussion had led to an argument and neither of them wanted to concede their position. As they passed a barnyard of mules, goats, and pigs, the husband asked sarcastically, "Relatives of yours?" "Yep," the wife replies, in laws"

W O R D S A husband read an article to his wife about how many words women usea day... 30,000 to a man's 15,000. The wife replied, "The reason has to be because we have to repeat everything to men...The husband then turned to his wife and asked, "What?"

CREATION A man said to his wife one day, "I don't know how you can be so stupid and so beautiful all at the same time. " The wife responded, "Allow me to explain. God made me beautiful so you would be attracted to me; God made me stupid so I would be attracted to you!

WHO DOES WHAT A man and his wife were having an argument about who should brew the coffee each morning. The wife said, "You should do it, because you get up first, and then we don't have to wait as long to get our coffee." The husband said, " You are in charge of cooking around here and you should do it, because that is your job, and I can just wait for my coffee." Wife replies, "No, you should do it, and besides, it is in the Bible that the man should do the coffee." Husband replies, "I can't believe that, show me." So she fetched the Bible, and opened the New Testament and showed him at the top of several pages, that it indeed says.........."HEBREWS"

THE SILENT TREATMENT A man and his wife were having some problems at home and were giving each other the silent treatment. Suddenly, the man realized that the next day, he would need his wife to wake him at 5:00 AM for an early morning business flight. Not wanting to be the first to break the silence (and LOSE), he wrote on a piece of paper, "Please wake me at 5:00 AM." He left it where he knew she would find it. The next morning, the man woke up, only to discover it was 9:00 AM and he had missed his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't wakened him, when he noticed a piece of paper by the bed. The paper said, " It is 5:00 AM. Wake up." Men are not equipped for these kinds of contests. God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece.

Mikesb - well... obviously I love my lil' 'un... and he's a leftie... and I'll teach him guitar... and I have lefties for him to play...

but if he touches any of the guitars in the studio -
Wrath, Lust, Pride, Envy, Avarice or Sloth

he dies...

one rule.. a simple one...

delfino - hahaaa... yes I've heard something similar

when someone asks me what I'm drinking I just say "Stella"...

says it all.... lmao...

ocps - now I'm going to make a dreaful generalisation.... but....
the few lefties playing rightie that I've seen up close seem only to be about to do legato centric playing....

not too much alternate picking etc...

that just tells me that the sync issue never really goes away.. it just gets "improved"

and then you get complete bastards like Michael Angelo who speed picks like a demon leftie and rightie....
but he ain't fair...

SteveT - and now you're on 1666.... The Great Fire of London

1664 helps with history.....

1664: great beer... London gets totally wasted... 1665: London got real sick = The Great Plague - Black Death 1666: The Great Fire of London - which killed off the plague everyone was happy.. time for a pint..

YaYo - Locrian mode - I read your post and was going to comment on it but didn't really have time to give the thought that it deserves......

the reason that it sounds unstable is tat the 5th is not perfect.. so right away this'll make many folks cringe... and for most others, your ear will be naturally pulled towards the center key and you'll be begging for it to resolve...
in classical music chord VII was only ever used in inversion [mostly 1st and 2nd inv's - chord: VII7b and VII7c] - making for a nice alternative for chord II or IV during a cadence...

so all this means that chord VII is not somewhere tat most guys would hang out on for long... it's mostly used for colouration...

when you look at this tonality from a modal perspective this instablity and "need to resolve" is very strong...

if you want to create music purely using this most, note selection is more critical than with other modes if you want the remove the feeling of the need to resolve....

personally... I like it... I like the need to resolve... giving the impression the you are going to... and then don't.. or resolve some place else.... especially some place horrid...

like dangling a candy bar in front of a baby... then just as he closes his eyes and makes to take a bite......
you quickly swap it out with a dog poop wrapped in nettles and sprinkled lightly with wasps, broken glass and razor blades.....

SURPRISE ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! .... bwwwaaaahahaahaahahahaa..

godguns - nice one bro... so everything is nice and happy???

are you looking forward to January?? cos it'll get a bit nippy I bet..
