You know people are people, no-one is perfect but we all have good in us. When people screw up, say wrong things, its done and we learn. The only smart thing to do is focus on the good because the past is past. Anger is a problem with self, not others. Never judge a person because we never know that person's life, his troubles, thoughts, influences.

My calming insight for the day :o)

Ronnie

Stevee T - I know - working on the tunes bit. Not sure whats up there.

cuth - Shredz is done... it just needs a little 'house work' done to it - tidying up here and there....

then I'm off to the US to master it

I still have to sort out some of the legal stuff, the art work, web site etc.....

but I'm well on the home straight and very very pleased with it...

in the gaps between sorting out all this misc stuff for Shredz, I'm involved in contributing to writing the new DC album in prepararion for the tour coming in spring 2006

and I'm writing for my 2nd album "Volume 4"

lol... as Yoda pointed out on the phone the other day....
I should have completed another 2 albums in the time it's taken to do this.....

so Volume IV is a reasonable enough title for my 2nd album...

this one however will take less than a year...

Good Morning Satchland..... How are you guys?

I'm a little down today. Last night I called my Mother in law to thank her for the Fathers Day card she sent me. She told me one are good family friends(local man from Wisconsin)was in a construction accident. Todd is about 42 yrs old and took over his dad's excavation business. They were digging a trench when one of his emplyees colasped in the trench. Todd thought the guy had a heart attack and jump in the trench to help him. Turns out they hit a pocket of Methane gas which is oderless and very dangerous to inhale. They were exposed to the gas to long. The guy he tried to save died last night and Todd has a less than 1 % chance to live. Even if he survives he'll never be normal ever again. I dont know what say......This is so sad for all of us and it's not fair. Todd is great guy...very successful....father of a 4yr. old girl...beautiful wife....has a huge farm....hunts dear...fishes. He had everything going for him and It's just not right. Please keep Todd in your thoughts today and be safe and careful.

My english exam was today, I feel "ok" with how I did...it didn't feel that hard but its one of these exams where you have a checklist of things to include.

To create my 3D stuff I use 3DS MAX 5 (even though I also have 7...but meh) and I occasionally use MAYA 5 (but its sooo hard to adapt to).

I asked my head of 6th form what my predicted grades were and she said that because of my B' in the AS media exam and the A' i got for the film project I did then I should be ok with it. She said that she can see me getting well over 300 points but I'm not so sure...who knows we'll see how it goes.

mikesb - I have the line-up ready to do this live... it's a real good one too...

before we prep for stage though I need 'product'....
yeah it's takin a long time... but look at this year.... I've not touched Shredz since early December due to the DC tour and then for a further few more weeks because of a track I've been working on called Space Time [an experimental track for me from a style perpsective - it'll be on Volume IV]....

the tour is done, Space Time is done [just needs mixing and mastering]

Shredz needs a little comparative mixing to balance all the songs out...
I am going to replace the electric guitars on Virtus with nylon strung classical guitar - no biggie really...
then I just need to make the arrangements for mastering, art work and all the other stuff...

in the mean time musically, I'm going to dive into Vol 4...
I have some very nice ideas for it already.....

Shredz is very classical / orchestral driven......

I've decided to expand... mix it all up... this way the album will be build less around a specific sound / idea
this worked well for Shredz but won't work for Vol4...
I'm still experimenting with the Vol4 album concept...

Ambidextrous Golfer

Four lawyers in a law firm lived and died for their Saturday morning round of golf. It was their favorite moment of the week. Then one of the lawyers was transferred to an office in another city. It wasn't quite the same without him.

A new woman lawyer joined their law firm. One day she overheard the remaining three talking about their golf round at the coffee table.

Curious, she spoke up, "You know, I used to play on my golf team in college and I was pretty good. Would you mind if I joined you next week?"

The three lawyers looked at each other. They were hesitant. Not one of them wanted to say 'yes', but she had them on the spot. Finally one man said it would be okay, but they would be starting pretty early at 6:30 am.

He figured the early Tee-Time would discourage her immediately. The woman said this might be a problem and asked if she could possibly be up to 15 minutes late. They rolled their eyes but said this would be okay. She smiled and said, "Good, then I'll be there either at 6:30 or 6:45."

She showed up right at 6:30 and wound up beating all three of them with an eye-opening 2-under par round. She was a fun and pleasant person the entire round. The guys were impressed! Back in the clubhouse they congratulated her and happily invited her back the next week. She smiled and said "Sure, I'll be here at 6:30 or 6:45."

The next week she again showed up at 6:30 Saturday morning. Only this time, she played left-handed. The three lawyers were incredulous as she still managed to beat them with an even par round despite playing with her off-hand.

By now the guys were totally amazed, but wondered if she was just trying to make them look bad by beating them left-handed. They couldn't figure her out. She was again very pleasant and didn't seem to be showing them up, but each man began to harbor a burning desire to beat her!

In the third week they all had their game faces on. But this week she was 15 minutes late! This had the guys irritable because each was determined to play the best round of golf of his life to beat her. As they waited for her, they figured her late arrival was some petty gamesmanship on her part.

Finally she showed up. This week the lady lawyer played right-handed which was a good thing since she narrowly beat all three of them. However she was so gracious and so complimentary of their strong play, it was hard to keep a grudge against her. This woman was a riddle no one could figure out!

Back in the clubhouse she had all three guys shaking their heads at her ability. They had a couple beers after their round which helped the conversation loosen up.

Finally one of the men could contain his curiosity no longer. He asked her point blank, "How do you decide if you're going to golf right-handed or left-handed?"

The lady blushed and grinned. She said, "That's easy. When my dad taught me to play golf, I learned I was ambidextrous. I have always had fun switching back and forth. Then when I met my husband in college and got married, I discovered he always sleeps in the nude.

From then on I developed a silly habit. Right before I left in the morning for golf practice, I would pull the covers off him. If his you-know-what was pointing to the right, I golfed right-handed; if it was pointed to the left, I golfed left-handed" Astonished at this bizarre information, one of the guys shot back, "But what if it's pointed straight up in the air?" She said, "Then I'm fifteen minutes late."

Good day Satchland

News from Canada

Live 8's venue for the Canadian show has been chosen as well as the huge list of bands. The venue will be Park Place (formerly Molson Park) just south of Barrie and north of Toronto. Tickets are free, a stupid skill testing question is required to get tickets :s thats all. Acts include Candian bands The Tragically Hip, Great Big Sea, Sam Roberts, Bare Naked Ladies, Bryan Adams, Jann Arden and Brue Cockburn among other not so good Canadian artists like Simple Plan (biggest bunch of whiners I have ever heard) and Celein Dion doing a satellite performance, thats wank. Show starts at 11 am, there are still 3 more acts to be booked, the Rolling Stones might be one of them as they are practising in Toronto for their world tour.
