Good Morning Satchland...... How are you guys?

I just want to say thanks to all of you for the support for my friend Todd passing. Life throws you curve balls every once and a while and its best we all carry our own bats so we can knock them out of the park. That's exactly what I'm going to do. Life moves on but like Stevee T said a little piece is missing. I for one am very glad I crossed paths with Todd. I loved his strength and repected what he stood for. He was full of life and worked very hard for his success. It's sad to know good people....I mean really good people like Todd have to leave this Earth when people like Sahdam(thank God not anymore) and Bid Laden are free to walk around and cause so much pain and misery fueled by hate. There's so much more to life then greed and hate and it's a shame these people dont get it. Count your blessings and give your spouse and children a big squeeeeez and live HUGE !!!!! Todd you'll be missed....

I did some digging 'cause I was curious to see just what gas killed my friend Todd. I was told it was Methane...but there not sure.... OSHA is investigating. Read on....

Construction accident kills two

printable page

REEDSBURG - Friday's accident at a construction site on Exhibit Circle has resulted in the death of two workers, who were exposed to unknown gases while working in a man hole.

Duane Nobs, 56 of LaValle, died Sunday at UW-Hospital and his co-worker, Todd Labansky, 44 of Reedsburg, died Monday evening, also at the hospital, Sauk County Coroner Betty Hinze reported. Labansky and Nobs worked for B & L Excavating of LaValle.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. on June 17. Police and rescue workers responded to a report of two unconscious men in a manhole on Exhibit Circle, where a subdivision is being built. Emergency personnel found Nobs and Labansky about 8-10 feet below ground, Assistant Fire Chief Craig Douglas said.

Reedsburg firefighters used breathing gear and harnesses to retrieve the men, he said. The men remained unconscious when an ambulance crew took them to Reedsburg Area Medical Center.

Both were later transferred to University Hospital in Madison, Douglas said.

"(Nobs) died due to exposure to the toxic atmosphere," Betty Hinze, Sauk County coroner said. Labansky's death was also caused by exposure to toxic gas, Hinze added. "They're looking into the actual type of gas it may be."

Hinze said the gas was from the soil or some other natural process, not natural gas from a utility pipeline. It will take several weeks for air and soil samples to be analyzed before the details of what caused their deaths can be determined, Hinze said.

Remembering

Nobs was the village president in LaValle for at least nine years said trustee Linda Champagne. "He didn't take any decision lightly," she said. "This is only my second year on the board, and I learned a lot from him. He was a good leader and he had the best interest of the community at heart all the time," she said. Champagne also recalled Nobs being a good neighbor for all the time they lived near each other. A smile was always on his face even if he wasn't in the best mood, she said.

Several other members of the LaValle village board have memories of Nobs. "He will be remembered as a fireman, a village president, as a businessman," said village clerk David Doering.

Comments from family members of Todd Labansky were not available as of press time.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is also investigating the accident, said Kim Stille, director of the OSHA office in Madison. The agency always investigates when there is a death in a workplace situation.

A variety of dangerous gases generated by bacterial action in the soil, including hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide, can build up in enclosed spaces, she said.

She said she did not know how soon OSHA staff members would complete the investigation.

I second that question maestro!

Delfino+DCK: The iPod may have slighlty better quality, but the earphones do count for some of the bass etc. so if i were to buy one, the Zen would be my choice, think its better value.......

How is everyone anyways??

Keniko, so very sorry about your friend Todd, he sounds like he was such a good person. Hugs.....

DCK, your keyboard died....hmmm, maybe it's catching, mine died in chat the other night, could my board have infected your board? :( I sure hope not!

FOR GOODNESS SAKE, SOMEONE PLEEEEEEZE HELP MICHELLE OUT....she needs that password desperately....I can feel her vibrating from all the way over here in Oregon.... if you'd been in chat with her last night when she found out about the concert, you'd know what I mean...I'm still "chelle-shocked" from the experience...the screaming.....oh my! :l

Chelle, you weren't planning on going to that concert or anything, were ya? hehehehehehe........

BROTHER AL, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

Joe, sounds like it was a great party for Mr. Paul, and I'm sure he was thrilled to have you and many others there to celebrate with....I believe you did an interview with him years ago for a guitar magazine...very cool! Oh, and I never get tired of watching the webcast...pretty please, with sugar on top, is there the possibility of a DVD from this tour? I'm hoping you're at least considering it...maybe a fan poll would help? :) Ummm, I vote YES!!

Stevee T, danny K, thank you both for checking out Powerhouse, and thanks for your feedback...I'm glad people are diggin it!

SupaaDave, thanks for checkin out the tune amigo! Also, $125 for a used Floyd Rose with no arm? hahaha. Something I saw the other day that cracked me up - "Ibanez Jem 7V body....mint condition". On slightly-closer inspection of the thumbnail photo I saw that it wasn't a Jem body. It was a rip off.....there was no cavity routed for the middle pickup, it was just an RG body that somenoe had routed. I sent a message to the guy saying "is this one of those lesser-known H-H arrangement Jem's", obviously taking the piss and he replied with "this may be a lesser-Jem but I can assure you the workmanship is top-notch".

Some poor f*ck*r actually paid a good couple of hundred bucks for that! haha.

NSPike, haha, thanks for checking out Powerhouse. Yeah I realised I could do that trick a few years ago and have been itching to stick it in a track ever since! Thanks for your kind remarks :-)

962 Ha good on ya bro' :-) I hope that you enjoy the gig, I bet that Luke is gonna rock the joint hard.....................one word "underated".......... As for me I'm cool man, thanks for asking, you can't have everything that you want all the time but I've got enough blessings at the moment :-) :-)

Keniko I'm sorry to read about your friend Todd. There are too many rules and regulations in this world and I can't judge the situation but I work in a construction related field. I find it hard to believe that somebody can be taken from this earth in such a manner and not figure that the regs have not been adhered to. I'm not being heartless man and I'm sorry if it seems that way, accidents happen but risks should be identified. It doesn't matter now who is 'culpable' but I'm saddened because it seems that this loss was avoidable. RIP Todd may your family find the strength that they need.

Dave You've got some mischief going on around now bro' for sure! ;-)

Cube guy from England...........roflmao ;-) Dude, I don't think that I can take such an accolade! lmao ;-)

cuth - lol...

Suzie - I realy hope I get this job. The money's great, and it's something I enjoy doing. I'd be really lucky though - not many people manage to come straight out of Uni and into a career of their choice. If I get it I'm going to get sooo drunk... lmao

OCPS - Kind of. It's not really a music school per se; it's a government run system whereby the intrumental teachers visit schools and teach the kids. At the moment I'm doing that, but it's off my own back and kind of freelance, which I'm not entriely happy with. For a start, I have no idea whether or not I'm insured. If I were to get this job, it would all be made official; and I'd be earning about twice the amount of money!!!

Clarky - I've never heard that, but I have Symphonies 1 - 4 and Piano Concertos 1 - 4. The Symphonies are amazing, but I just can't get enough of the Piano Concertos, particularly no. 3.

hello people how are you all. I am okay, My brother cut the top of his finger of from the lawn mower. He was mowing a lawn that was kindof downhill and he slipt and his hand went under the mower and hit the blade. It cute his finger 10 times till he pulled it out. But he will be fine.

Keniko: I hope that you are a little better. It is hard to handle this kind of stuff. (at least it was for me when my friend passed away) Joe really helped me though. I am very thankful for Joe and his music.
