if al-Q ain't scared of that... they fucking should be...

never a truer word said bro....
being offline for the last few days has killed me.... not being able to read anything (my tv gets no channels - everything came second or third hand)... i bought a paper today a literally cried while reading it in a shopping centre.... and their coverage was sparse at best.....
Alexandre I remember! We will sort it out one day! I'm sure! Take care my friend :-)
regarding the London thing, all I can think is to quote from a book I read today (yes! all in one day lol):
Question: What Can A Thoughtful Man Hope For Mankind on Earth, Given the Experience of the Past Million Years?

Answer: Nothing.

Brother al...it looks to me like it could be 1 of 4 things or a combination of 2 or 3 ,,,lol

#1. The coating on your trem unit had somthing on it before it was coated..IE...oil or a substance that was not compatible w/the black oxide dipping. #2. After time the Black Oxide soulition breaks down in the dipping bin, which would not make the metal friendly w/the oxide..either of the 2 would cause sweat to bring out the natural reaction of the metal which is rust. #3. You've had your hand where it should not be. "NOT GOING TO COMENT ON THAT" #4. You dont clean your gear,,Maybe try a FRIENDLY cleaner..looks to me that you rest your picking hand on the trem unit abit?? Also...metals are weired,,you just might have a bad batch of trem unit....meaning the metal has a bad mix to it.. I hope this helps you & by the way,,not trying to be a SMARTASS w/ the hand comment..DAKOOK

Chutbert - "US administrations have exhibited imperial leanings and have taken corresponding actions for over a century now and, regardless how loathesome the response, the only fix to the issue is to look at the root cause; these people are not bombing London or New York because they hate "freedom"; they hate not being left the hell alone to solve their own problems."

i agree.

i guess imperial leanings is the best way to put it.....u took the words right out of my head

this was yet another rude awakening. surprisingly, no one is aware of the terror attack on India just the day before the london blasts (on the 6th)....& when we screamed our throats out about terrorism for the last ...over 25 yrs....no one gave a damn! .......everyone's soooo isolated from the rest-of-the-world's reality

it's just a matter of respect .....

Clarky:Yip some history, while i was travelling the silk road in Uzbekistan i often wondered how interesting it would be archeology there, maybe when i,m so old, limp & can only hold a brush, lol

Starting Kung Fu classes again in 2 weeks, waving goodbye to fags & beer cept for family gatherings when the fuse burns low & meeting friends not seen in a long while, time for change, they say wisdom comes with age, i dont buy that, wisdom to me comes from making an effort to learn from another, killing my ignorance softly, so much to learn, so little time

VFRrocker:Just had to vent & get rid of that anger bro,man when i heard Bush & co were doing business with the taliban years ago, i sat back & stared numb at the sky. I know,i know, its politicians, but the taliban! The guys that feed the world heroin! I dont have words, back to vent on the guitar, i,m off t buy a few sets of strings, maybe need a new guitar b4 the day is through, close mouth, energy HOT

Zenfish:Bro if they think cancelling debt with some parts of Africa is going to sweeten the pot & change my view of these low lifes, they got another thing coming, chances are the rich will benifit more anyway instead of the needy, my sights are set, the day the U.S. impeach Bush & the UK get rid of Blair will be a happy day. The U.S. & UK are good people mostly, piloted by a couple of wankers, The problem is, who do we replace these people with?Any ideas?

Cuth:Any ideas? Now that i think of it, if i win the lottery take it, you know your rights & are well learnt, why dont you run?I,d back y bro

Hey Al: Im sure you could take it to a place where theyd treat it and all, I was wondering, do you get any problems with the edge system, ie. a wobbly whammy bar?? (for anyone unfamiliar with the guitar this will sound awkward) I keep tightening the screw at the back of the guitar, but the whammy bar is wobbly, and it squeaks when rotated, any suggestions anyone?

Top 10 Odd College Courses

College courses aren't all Econ 101 and The History of Europe: 1500-Present. A trend among many colleges and universities is to offer courses that are slightly off the beaten track. Many of these courses draw their themes from pop culture or sports, or they may be the brainchildren of professors who want to share their passion with students. They may be no less serious than traditional courses, but they certainly cover new academic ground.

Students take these offbeat courses for a variety of reasons--hoping for an easy A, to try something fun, or to explore a new interest. Underwater Basket Weaving 101 may be an urban legend, but these ten unusual courses are for real:

1) You can boldly go where no other philosophy student has gone before in Georgetown University's "Philosophy and Star Trek" course, where students discuss the nature of time travel, the ability of computers to think and feel, and other philosophical dilemmas facing the crew of the Starship Enterprise.

2) Discover how Brick really felt when Opal left him for his neighbor's best friend's sister in the University of Wisconsin's course entitled "Daytime Serials: Family and Social Roles." Students analyze the plots, themes, and characters of daytime soaps and discuss their impact on modern life.

3) If you've been longing to research how hot dogs, theme parks, and the five-day workweek have impacted American leisure culture, check out the University of Iowa course "The American Vacation." This course pays particular attention to how American families' varying backgrounds shape their vacation experiences.

4) Bowdoin College students can delve into "The Horror Film in Context" in the school's English Department. Students read Freud and Poe and watch Hitchcock and Craven, all while discussing the horror genre's treatment of gender, class, and family.

5) At Williams College, students can learn more about those in the cement shoe industry by enrolling in "Comparative History of Organized Crime," which compares the work of goodfellas from the United States, Italy, Japan, and Russia.

6) If you've got a romantic urge for adventure, check out Barnard College's course on "The Road Movie," which studies Easy Rider and Thelma and Louise, while also discussing the genre's literary precursors, like On the Road and The Odyssey.

7) If hitting the road doesn't satisfy your rebellious streak, sign up for Brown University's course on "American Degenerates," in which students discuss how early British-American writers embraced the grotesque, monstrous, "not our kind" status bestowed on them by the mother country and reflected their zeal for cultural and physical degeneracy in their literature.

8) Those artsy types at the Rhode Island School of Design can put down their paintbrushes and take "The Art of Sin and the Sin of Art," which contemplates the relationship between sin and the art world. The course catalog invites you to "lust with the saints and burn with the sinners."

9) If talking about death several times a week in class sounds like a good time to you, try Purdue University's "Death and the Nineteenth Century" course. Every poem and novel in the course deals with the 19th-century conception of mortality and the world beyond.

10) At Centre College in Danville, Kentucky, students can take "Art of Walking," in which students not only read literature by noted perambulators like Kant and Nietzsche, but go for neighborhood strolls with their professor and his dog.

Most college programs offer interesting courses to introduce you to new and fascinating subject matters. Take advantage of the many possibilities offered to you by sitting down with your advisor to talk about course options and then really thinking about the courses you choose to take.

Billy Graham was returning to Charlotte after a speaking engagement, and when his plane arrived there was a limousine there to transport him to his home. As he prepared to get into the limo, he stopped and spoke to the driver.

"You know" he said, "I'm 87 years old, and I've never driven a limousine. Would you mind if I drove it for a while?"

The driver said, "No problem--have at it."

Billy got into the driver's seat, and they headed off down the highway.

A short distance away sat a rookie state trooper operating his first speed trap. The long black limo went by him doing 70 in a 55 mph zone.

The trooper pulled out, easily caught the limo, and got out of his patrol car to begin the procedure.

The young trooper walked up to the driver's door, and when the glass was rolled down he was surprised to see who was driving.

He immediately excused himself and went back to his car and called his supervisor.

He told the supervisor, "I know we are supposed to enforce the law, but I also know that important people are given certain courtesies. I need to know what I should do because I have stopped a very important person."

The supervisor asked, "Is it the governor?"

The young trooper said, "No, he's more important than that."

The supervisor said, "Oh, so it's the president."

The young trooper said, "No, he's even more important than that."

The supervisor finally asked, "Well then, who is it?"

The young trooper replied, "I think it's Jesus because he's got Billy Graham for a chauffeur!"

big bad moon 1889: Nick I'll be at both shows........I'll be arriving around 4 to get a good table. Doors @ 6 Ronnie (FablawyerSBM) and his girl will be there but Stevee T is not going to make it. bummmer. EJ's manager is hopefully putting me on the guest list for the 2nd show, said he would take care of it. Les Paul may be there. He was at EJ's gig in Teaneck, NJ the 1st EJ show where I met EJ and Jeff. When I saw Eric the other night he said to me I met you before....in Teaneck NJ, Les Paul was there!! I said "OMG Eric! you have such a great memory! Yes, and Les Paul just had a big Birthday Bash in NYC for his 90th but I missed it.....Joe Satriani showed up and played a song I think it was Satch Boogie. I heard there were alot of other great musicians there as well". We chatted for a litle more, I was the last person to get to talk to him so I didn't have much time. Anyway I'll see you there!!

paul yeah, thanks man, it was mainly for the benefit of my Inbox people ;-) it's so touch and go here... hard drives acting weird, connection itself up and down, and if hurricane dennis makes his way this way i'll almost certainly be offline for a while due to the storms....
man, the effin AC is dead again... it's 5 to 10 in the morning and already over 80 degrees (that's around 27 degrees in old money)... and the humidity + flying biting animals don't help either.... if i wasn't related to my landlord i'd probably throttle him... later peeps, Dave
