anyone here that has a strat- when you got it was the bridge elevated from the body a little?, cuz in the manual it says that fender sets it 1/8th above the bridge but you can adjust it yourself. i just want to know if mine is suposed to be like that or not? and if it is, which way is better to play elvated bridge or flush?
thanks

BBM - Putting the bride at 1/8" will give the desired tension that Fender wants. If you like more tension when you use the bar, tighten the spring screws. The tension of the springs is according to Hooke's Law * Fs = -kx * where x is the distance from neutral and k is the spring constant. The longer you make the springs the larger the force you have to overcome when using the trem bar. So in short, start at where the strings stay in tune, then more to more tension depending on what feels comfortable to you.

Its a pain in the butt to find EJ's music, its so difficult and I dont have a credit card, I am only 18 after all, 19 soon though but still...I have a few of the songs from Alien Love Child: Live and Beyond and I want to get the album but I cant find it, like a lot of other albums. I want to get Seven Worlds from 98, it should be easier to find since its a bit more recent but ya never know. Seven Worlds has some great tunes, A Song for Life is one of them. Tones is excellent I have heard, I have heard only Souful Terrain from that album. I wish I could get my hands on all the albums.

Hey all. Been a few weeks, but I'm here now.
Big Bunny: hi, how's things? Doing fine(ish) here. As long as my father does not increase his pestering I'll be fine. Fortunately I don't live anywhere near them these days, so I can keep a comfortable distance.
Bahduh: Hi! About the Australian cricket team, my thoughts have always been that they were out of practice. They're (almost all) back now. Look out! The Ashes are not as up-for-grabs as people thought 2 weeks ago.
Talking about British pride, watching the ODI cricket match between Australia and England this morning AEST time when the game was taken out of the local's hands by the Aussies the crowd was pretty quiet. Then a Spitfire flew overhead and the whole crowd got up to their feet and gave a huge standing ovation!!! All of a sudden there was a buzz, and the Poms got a bit of a resurgence. Not enough to dent the Australian cricket war machine...
Have fun boys and girls, keep it all good.

Michelle: Yes...... So many concerts, so little time!! I found out that Joe Bonamasso (sp?) played near me Fri night and I didn't make it to the gig Keniko told me about Fri night in NYC (Tinsley Ellis) because I needed to rest up for EJ and I've got to start saving money for my world tour. It looks like Steve Vai UK and Holland may happen after all (YEAH!!), just got the word friday but haven't been home to do anything about it.
Suzie and Maire i'll email yah tomorrow. Umm ...I guess later today since it's 4am now. Shel what's 5 days? I thought your Bday was in August? Ohhhh Joe's B day!!?? Ding, the light goes on. hehe!! Glad you had a blast at the fireworks.Sounds like a good time for one and all!! I'll be heading up to see my sis soon, hopefullly I can stop and see you on my way out.
We'll talk.
Big bad moon 1889: Zenfish can tell you what SRV's setup was. He posted it to me when we were talking about KWS. I was at both show and I was in front of EJ and his pedals (his left) at the first show (center stage), sitting right next to the stage (my back was to the stairs). You could see me on the screen, lower right corner. Were you down by Chris in front of the speakers? I was one table over towards Chris for the 2nd showand sat right against the stage again!! I was infront of Chris but I had a better angle for taking photos of EJ. My other seat had one of those emergency light boxes right above EJ's head so I just enjoyed being so close to greatness and hopefully got a guitar lesson out of it. hehe!! I wrote down the set list I'll post it later. At the 2nd show EJ came right up to me (inches from me!!) and was just wailing away.......OMG!!!! I met some really great people I'm sorry we didn't meet. I'll tell you all more about my shows later. It's almost 4:30 am and I need to get some sleep!!
Night.......mar
Edit:
Bahduh: You are welcome!! I wish I could tell you more, there are some questions that I would like answered by Steven. I'm glad you are praying for him. He needs to be strong.........He knows we are always here to help him. All he has to do is ask..................

meandmrvai, even if you don't want to get a credit card you could get a Visa Debit card and use that on the net. That way you can get all his stuff from amazon or the Cennextion. Seven Worlds is actually his oldest solo album, it just didn't get released until recently.
big bad moon, that's awesome that you got Bloom signed as he came off the bus, and it sounds like it was an amazing show! I'm so envious of all you guys seeing the Bloom tour!
YIPPEEEEEE!!!! My copy of the "Electric Gypsy" TAB just arrived from Andy Timmons, along with an Andy Timmons Band shirt. This is so worth having, Andy is f*ck*n ace!!

phryg - hahaaa... when INT and the 'blades' get involved..
we'll hear 'nothing' about it.....
the guys that did will be caught and there will be shit in the news...
and some guys in the background will simply vanish....
no big deal and no fuss...
don't you just love those guys... lmao..
BrotherAl - do you live close to the sea? cos it looks similar to the sort of thing that happens when the salty humid air attacks metal...
has this happened to any of your other guitars....
you can sort out the knife-edges without touching the intonation....
Slansh - hahaaaa... so much to learn and only a single lifetime in which to do it.... lmao...
good luck on the Kung Fu..... quitting tabs though.. shit that's a tough one..... I tried and failed many times...
962 - SAS/SBS are busy... they've always been busy....
you just don't hear about it.....
if you did.. it'd sort of compromise thier work....
we are always involved in one conflict or another.....
and we still are right now... Afganistan and Iraq...
so.. those guys are busy...
think back to the days when the IRA were really kicking off...
you may here on the news that a few IRA members have been killed or taken... by the British Army
they never said the Regiment... just the Army...
OCPS - bro.. has the CD arrived yet?

mowlie your outbursts in this forum are entirely inappropriate. you have our email addresses. but as you insist on (as paul commented) washing your dirty laundry in public, here's what happened:
after agreeing on the final listing we realised that there wasn't enough space on the cd for all the tracks. we gradually removed the weaker tracks until there were enough tracks to fit on a single audio cd. your track, being one of the weaker ones, was therefore removed.
in an attempt to guess your next response, let me add this: had you been around (i understand you've been busy and stressed) at that stage your track still wouldn't have made it because, as in all the voting, it was a majority thing - three of us voted your track off and so there would be no way your vote would have swayed it.
there really was no need for me to post this here, but you asked for it...

Phrydom - Fair point but for starters I dont have access to email anymore and I did forward my cell number to DCK for any updates on the CD. Also, when I asked DCK about it he said that he didnt know why my track was taken off so, that to me, says that didnt vote. Could I ask which song you think is mine??? I do take your points on board but you surely do understand my frustrations as, as far as I am concerned, it is not a weak song at all.

Well, this is more like it!!! Finally we get some sun in the middle of July!!!!! Saturday was nice, yesterday was really nice, but today is awesome. Too bad I've been cooped up in a shitty little class room with smelly teenage boys and one window that doesn't open properly!!!! :-S
Me and housemate were discussing the fate of the terrorists today (provided they catch them, of course...). We think they should be put in public stocks in Leicester Square - or somehwere else really central - for the British public to treat as they see fit. That could be fun. Ken Livingstone would be happy too, since there'd be a lot more people in London over those few weeks. Not even the Congestion Charge would put people off, me thinks... lmao
