why are delay pedals so ******* expensive?
i want to get a delay pedal to use when playing at church
so i dont have to lug the boss Gt6 every where.
Every where I go there around the $300-400 (aussie) price
while distortion pedals are only $130 ish.
Joe, when u were building your pedals for using live and studio
use, what did u look for, ? I lke the gt6 but there are times when I would just prefer pedals any one else like that..

Delfino, to be honest with you dude, I've never thought of researching onboard effects for guitar. The only onboard tricks I think I'd be interested in are a sustainer pickup and fretboard lighting! haha.
VFR, awesome, cheers dude! Could you put your address in your mail too?
PhryDom, yeah the JS bridge does sit in a cavity, like the Jem.
LucySorets, cool, thanks for that. Additonal Creations sounds good, I'd love to hear Turkey Man!
SlickPotatoHead, Gary Cherone is cool, he's a great performer, and still works very hard.
Clarky, what are those good Lo-TRS II's made from? Cause the few that I've used were really soft so they didn't last long at all. Thy were better than the new Edge Pro's though....the ones they put on the high-end guitars. Te cheaper Edge Pro's that you get on the JS100 and stuff of that caliber seem to be better than the high-edn ones....at least they don't warble when you pick a note!
Ethn, haha, is Ninja Gaiden really that good? I'm tempted to give it a try now! Yeah I'm good thanks, pretty busy working. Good to hear you're busy with band stuff, that's a good sign! I saved your web address to favourites so I can check out the tunes later when I've got more time...
Pitch No 8, yeah TC Electronics and Lexicon both make good stuff.

Hi all, and hi Joe, if you happen to be around lol
... Many happy returns bro ...... you are one of my favourite musicians bro ..Couldn't make sense of what you were actually playing on your guitar, but now things are slightly better lol....
btw can someone help me with 'Flying in a BLue Dream' and or 'Summer Song ,
the complex bits, not the main tune ..... I want to know how to play note for note, because they are pieces that you have to play note for note,
regards... grateful for any help

I've got a dumb question: Does Joe Satriani still give guitar lessons? O_o
P.S.: Happy belated birthday, Joe! If I'd joined yesterday I would have said something. >_> And by the way, I love your music. Saving for a JS1000, recently purchased a JS100 and a Line 6 Spider II 112, only been playing guitar since November, 2004, and wasn't serious about it until a few weeks ago when school let out. I sat down and in 24 hours time, learned Always With Me Always With You, impressed the hell out of my friends. =)
Gonna work on Midnight and Day At The Beach to play the school talent show this winter. =)
Keep putting out music, Joe, you're the best. I'm a junior in high school, once I graduate I'll go to the Army for a few years, save that money, take a road trip and meet you and hopefully get some advice!
Thanks for just kicking ass and being the man.

British Chaps - Had my first Stella tonight. Not going to do that again anytime soon. Much too light for my taste. Must be a lager. I'm more of a stout/porter kinda guy. Don't drink beer you can see through!
On a better note been playing through the new 4-12 Boogie cab. Man, what a difference over my 2-12 open back combo that I have had for the last 20 years. I am lovin' it. BUT, now I have to go back through all my settings to get the tone I want. More excuses to play!!! Night peeps

Barrier,...... rgr tht bro ( Assuming you play guitar, if not then this info is useless to you right now lol)
though you can pick up stuff joe does without having to get lessons, there is a DVD out featuring a player called Danny Gill..... he covers Surfing, satch boogie, always with., crush of love and a few more.... It's excellent, only some of the songs are played in a different key :( lol
In fact It's so good I can't stop playing 'The CRush of Love' which I just learnt lol...though I actually picked it up from the actual track and watched what joe does with it on the Live in San Francisco DVD also..... The Danny Gill Video taught me the little bluesy bit in the solo .....
cheers

castle49War of the Worlds. Enjoyed it very much. Just hope that it does not get into my nightmares. That primal fear of no where to hide is pretty powerful.

hey Ras, i think it was the Nathan Gaunt band......i didn't really listen to them much - the line outsides Metro's Freo was so long by the time i got in there i was busy trying to find a good spot! most were taken!

Yea 962 don't get me wrong he is fantastic, just that I always liked the David Lee Roth Van halen, and only see him as a part of them, practically a different band with Gary or Sammy.

Delfino -A friend of mine once installed what was effectively a wah-wah pedal into his Strat. He took the potentiometer and cogs out of his Crybaby, and stuck the whole thing into the body of his guitar, replacing one of the two tone pots. He basically had a little thing to push and pull out of the scratchplate which created a wah-wah type effect. It was the most ridiculously impractical thing I've ever tried to use, and it meant that the guitar always sounded really 'honky' and nasal, because the wah was always on!!!!! lol
Suzie - Thanks!!! Let me know what you think of the songs. Although, in true RECOIL style, the song 'Hope Of Mine' has been rearranged since that gig, so it doesn't actually exist in that form anymore. That's why we rarely play brand new songs live; because it takes a good few weeks for us to get them exactly right!!!! Meh. The others are still the same though...

Yeah man, its ridiculously warm today...I'm sure if this is an official heatwave but I can see hose-pipe bans being announced soon.
Yoda
"it meant that the guitar always sounded really 'honky' and nasal, because the wah was always on!!!!! lol"
OMG that sounds soooo bad lol. I was really wondering because I was wondering where I'd be able to find whatever little device it would be that makes an 'envelope' effect and somehow install it so I can turn it on and off with a Les Paul style toggle switch.
Otherwise, I'm considering installing a killswitch that kills anyone in the audience that criticizes me :-P
Also I got sent a Buckethead bootleg yesterday, except the person hasn't labelled the song...as they don't know what its called....I need help identifying it so I can buy whatever album its on because it rocks. Their are two riffs in it...one goes:
Bub bow bow-bow bow bub bow - - Bub bow bow - bow bow bow di-di-di-di
Where as the other goes:
Dun dudu der dun, dudu der dun, dudu der dun, dun derderderderderderderder
The drums are double bass, and he uses his Killswitch a lot in the solos and riffs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Delfino
