962: I hope it's self repairing too haha! Actually I talked to a shop that repairs fenders, and he said the Princeton 65 amps have been rife with bad soldering for years. I have the Legacy top cab. I actually got it because I thought the bottom cab would be too muddy. I kind of had this thinking, because whenever I try to mic a cab to get that perfect balanced lead tone in a recording, I alwas mic the top speaker on a slant cab, the bottom speakers are just too woofy. Also, Satch uses bottom cabs, and his live tone has always always been way too muddy/woofy. Vai uses the slant cab and he sounds very well balanced live. I'll tell you that with the JSX into the Legacy top cab, I can mic the top left speaker, with an SM57 (dead center right on the grille) and I get a perfectly balanced tone. It's the first amp cab setup where I mic it up, and when I listen through the studio moniters it sounds like the amp is in front of me. I wonder why Vai and Carvin switched from Greenbacks to Vintage 30's after the first year or so of the Legacy? Any ideas? I think it was because 4 V30's can handle 240 watts, whereas 4 greenbacks handle around 100. Maybe they were trying to push Legacy cabs to guys that have Mesas or other really high wattage tube amps. One last thing, what is the sync picking you are talking about with EJ? Is that the country type technique where you use hybrid picking to play a run, so that every other pick strock is basically a finger pluck?

TOALL: okay, this is going to sound very selfish, but I'd really really like to get into video game composing or music for speed channel or something like that. You know, really kickin' guitar based compositions for TV or games. I've got the studio to do it, and I've done a good deal of session work, so I know what type of clients I would be dealing with. It's just that Chris Peters is a nobody right now. Do any of you guys have any contacts or people that I could send demo packs of my work to? Thanks a bunch guys.

OCPS whatever you do, if you go down that route, I'd recommend sorting your copyright and stuff... music for other media is habitually bad at paying - they like to pay a flat fee regardless of number of units sold... cool if you're broke but a major bummer if you get say $50 for an hour's work that subsequently gets aired every time someone switches on the news, loads their video game, whatever...

you might want to get yourself registered with places like ASCAP or BMI or SESAC, check out this page.... their main criteria is that you have music available FOR SALE in a certain medium (internet included), which makes you eligible because your track on the first T2J cd is available for purchase... good luck bro... let us (at least me!) know how you get on... I'm thinking of going down a similar route myself! :-)

Happy Birthday a little early Joe! Keep on Rock'N my man!!!!
Today was my birthday 7/14 and I had one of the best presents I could ever have all because of you!
It's been my goal to play out again and in front of thousands of people. Last week on July 2nd, I performed the National Anthem infront of a crowd of over 8,000 people, family, friends and fans... and Rocked the park! Everyone said I did great, but I owe it all to you! Because I learned everything I could by listening to you play. I hope to have a video of the event on my website by this weekend just in time for your birthday... (a present from me to you). My website is www.spizazz.com. Although, I was nervous at times, I felt like you were with me all the while... since I played on my Black JS100, that you autograghed for me when you last came to Chicago.
Thanks again for everything and especially making my dreams come true! I love your music and will always be grateful for teaching me so much! You are my inspiration man!!!
Have a Happy Birthday! I'll post again when the video is out there!
Ciao... L8r,
Spizazz

Joe, Happy Birthday to you. Many happy returns!

We met you at the HOB in Chicago last October (I had the chrome Ibanez S ... remember, you thought it was heavy:).

Anyway, the pictures from the October show turned out great and it was nice to meet you and Mike Manning during the Backstage Experience. That was an amazing experience.

Keep on rockin' and hope to catch you next time in Chicago. We hope you'll continue the Platinum Package.

Your biggest fans from Chicago. Nick and Debbie.

Phrydom: I'm registered with BMI, and all of my songs are copyrighted through BMI. I've done some stuff with taxi through a composer that I do a lot of sessions with. They liked he stuff we did, but it wasn't exactly what the needed, so it ended up being a lot of work for nothing.

DCK: The princeton 65 is a solid state amp. THanks in advance for anything you can do to help.

Chris that's cool. I read somewhere once that you should always keep your publishing.... you know Vai gets something like 9 dollars per copy of Flexable? He owns everything except for the distribution deals he has. Keep your publishing seems to be good advice! :-)
Al you're one sick mofo bro.... but I like it... ;-)
