Can anybody help?

I have got an mp3 player for my son (fair swap!) as his birthday is imminent. However I haven't a clue how to convert cd's from whatever format they come in, to mp3 or wma format. I have now got a fair few Joe cd's and want to have them all installed on the thing when I give him it.

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

Captain Steve....... If you have iTunes it's easy. If you don't you can download iTunes for free. In iTunes...... import the songs or cd's you want to convert to mp3. From the iTunes library highlite the songs you want to convert. In preferences under the burn cd tab.....select convert to mp3. When the songs are converted you can now export them as mp3's. I figuired you want the songs to stay in your library. So I would import them in the format there in and then do the conversion. If you want to import them as a mp3 before you import the songs into the library you can go to preferences under the import tab and select import as mp3. They wont be in standard format but you can convert them back to AIFF or WAV if you wanted to. Hope this helps.

Its official, my job search is hopeless...for the past 11 months I have been applying to atleast 15 jobs a month and in that time I have had 1 interview and fuck all replies from other jobs.

As part of my dads job as a consultant he sometimes helps people with their CV's, he's said that mine is practically perfect and doesn't know why I don't have a job.

I feel so helpless at the moment, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong...people are always telling me of jobs going at places and I always apply, wherever it is and I get no reply. My uncle doesnt know why people have contacted me when it comes to me applying for jobs as barstaff as barstaff to him is something people have always wanted.

With 5 weeks to uni and fuck all money its looking bleak...and I don't know why.

Ah well fuck it, maybe I'm destined to live on the dole as a fucking piece of shit in a council estate, the most common of all places and the places that I loathe.

aussieRGman: Very nice rhythm track! Heck if I know how to the lead- there are so many possibilities! I've recently been exploring some slide work, quite fun to play! Maybe you need to take a break, or explore your inspirations more to see how they would handle a rhythm section like that. When writing my stuff, often I won't know what to do next, and I'll think: What would [insert name of guitarist/songwriter] do in this situation? Well, good luck bro. Have a good day. :)

Hey Gang... thanks for the kind suggestions... regarding Delay Pedals

The Boss DD-6 looks like a cool idea, I know Joe sticks by these pedals and has tried Chandler products as well, but I've been racking my brain, I've used some of the delay effects out of my Line 6 Spider for awhile now (3 different types) and truely like the sound of Tape Echo...

I don't like a delay effect that stands out like a sore thumb, regardless of the abilities of the DD-3 or DD-6 they are too digital for my taste In my opinion...

Listening to the sounds of Pink Floyd for instance when they recorded Dark Side of The Moon or Animals, David Gilmour's Guitar and/or vocals sounded so amazing to me... something that decays when you want it too can be a cool effect on it's own and it won't continue to swallow the mix, you can hear the sounds slightly garble into oblivion even into infinity, and todays pedals can't capture that... not truely anyways... New Pedals sound too mechanical too me...

I've even been trying to find a specific Overdrive Pedal made years ago by Dean Markley... "The Dean Markley Overlord" pedal... This pedal is an actual Tube Overdrive Stompbox with an actual Chinese 12AX7 Tube inside it... I had one years ago when I 1st started to play but lost the original power supply to it... it doesn't take a 9v... you have to plug it in... at least this one you did... I heard later on that they did make them 9v compatible but not the one I had...

Anyone here tried a Dean Markley Overlord before??? Joe???

Free Sammy Hagar Concerts Coming?

Sammy Hagar hopes that in the near future he won't have to charge for a concert ticket again. Hagar told The Zone that his other ventures, like Cabo Wabo tequila and his Cabo Wabo Cantina clubs, are making enough money to subsidize his live dates. He plans to pass that benefit on to the fans: "I'm getting real close to being able to go out and perform, big concerts with huge production, for free. That's what I'm trying to get to. It's a year or two early from being able to do it for free, assuming the company keeps growing the way it is."

Hagar's The Tequila Made Me Do It Tour kicks off this Saturday in Independence Township, Michigan. Besides music from Hagar with both the Waboritas and Montrose, the shows will also feature a parking lot tailgate party with beach volleyball, auto shows, a "Sammy-oke" karaoke stage, Mariachi bands, and photo ops with donkeys wearing sombreros.

Hagar, who spent most of 2004 with a reunited Van Halen, hopes to start work on a new album later this year.

New Queensr˙che

Queensr˙che recently signed a new deal with Rhino Records, and according to a statement on the band's website, the label will release the band's next album, Operation: Mindcrime II early next year. As we previously told you, the album is a sequel to Queensryche's classic 1988 album Operation: Mindcrime. The site notes that guitarists Michael Wilton and Mike Stone are currently laying down guitar tracks, and the vocals will be recorded soon. So far, 18 songs have been completed, but it's unclear at this point if all will make it on to the album.

Queensr˙che recently finished touring with Judas Priest and as we recently told you, they'll perform on the VH1 Classic special All Roads Lead To Sturgis '05, a biker rally and concert airing over Labor Day.

Ex-Pink Floyd bassist Roger Waters didn't mind putting aside his differences with his former bandmates for their one-off Live 8 performance, but he says a full-fledged reunion isn't likely. "I didn't mind rolling over for one day, but I couldn't roll over for a whole f**king tour," he asserts. Waters adds that he's currently gathering songs for a new solo album. "When I discover what it's actually about, I'll finish it and put it out for better or worse," he promises.

The Rolling Stones' forthcoming album, A Bigger Bang, reportedly will include several songs recorded solely by founding members Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Charlie Watts. "There's no hiding place if there's only three of you in the room," comments Jagger. Meanwhile, the Stones will release a compilation featuring B-sides and rare tunes in November. Also due this fall is a special edition of A Bigger Bang that likely will offer bonus video footage, remixes and extra tracks.

Delfino Pie...are you possibly limiting yourself to jobs that you want, or will you open yourself to something you might think is not your bliss? I can think of may blissful things to do, and get paid for it, but most of us realist's (rut people) work at something they're not so thrilled with. You're young enough to forge your future into something very special, and enjoy your life...take life by the balls, and give it a good yankin'!!!

Good Luck & Hard Pleasant work fer yer!

Peace!

Stevee T: Sorry, I was tired. With Alzheimer's the person has already gone but the body is still there. It is so very sad for the family and other loved ones. It's a relief when they do pass because they left a while ago and are finally at peace. The same can be said about cancer at end stage. Both are such terrible diseases, not one of the better parts of life.

Cheese101: Traci, I have al's # too!! LOL.....I would've called him but I was already late for bed. I need my beauty sleep..... ;-D I'm trying to take better care of myself and get more sleep during the week so I don't sleep so much on the weekends to catch up. I've got so much to do on weekends but I'm so tired that I sleep in. The day goes too damn quick when you get a late start. Your Dad sounds like a very cool guy! I've treated many patients with that kind of attitude, it's a very good way of looking at it......you just deal with it and move on. It's a very good coping mechanism. God Bless him!! Give him a hug for me, OK?! Everyone has their own way of coping, some are not as good as his. I've had patients that were very angry and nasty. They were mean to me and my co-workers. Luckily they are few and far between. Go to bed early, you are probably still catching up. ;-)

svk: hehe! :D

Keniko: Wow! Sounds like a wild weekend!! Congrats on Aaron's graduation! I spoke with Joan in the chat and she said how nice you and Cindy were. She enjoyed meeting you both. Too bad Joe Bonnamasso is so full of himself.....pity. It's sad when people have some fame and forget where they come from. JS is very special. You don't meet someone of his caliber that is so kind, understanding and compasionate. Joey B has ALOT to learn. He won't get much further with an attitude like that. Maybe he was sick or hungover and just didn't want to be bothered. That's no excuse to be rude though. How about I give Mato my DVD and you send me another one? Sound like a plan?! This way no sweat getting it to me.......I hope some good people have contacted you. It's just a matter of time before the right people find you and visa versa! Have faith Ken. "I Believe".............

castle49: So was Robert Plant awesome or what?!! What's the word on Pink Floyd, No more gigs?! ...bummer. I've never seen them except on the tele for Live 8. Sounds like a ploy to sell DVD's .......hmmmmm.

DelfinoPie: Don't give up!! Maybe you need to apply for positions you are better suited for. Maybe they tell you of a position that is not available or not posted yet. That can be a big hangup. You will find the right job!! Trust me mate! It all happens for a reason. Do you know what you REALLY want to do?! Is that what you are applying for? Have faith my friend. :))

Brother al: You didn't say What it was that you drank, only that it made you sick. You said it was some weird shot I think. Any idea? I'd never drink it again if I was you.

marimari - Plant was a great show. Even my friends who don't really like Zep enjoyed themselves. Next up the Eagles on 8/16. Zinc Master posted that Roger Waters said he was not up for the tour. Too bad as that Live 8 set was outstanding. I keep watching it over and over.
