Well that was a nice 14hr sleep I just had :-|

My plans of lookig philosophical in the town center have gone out the window as I can no longer be bothered.

On the other hand I got the headstock of my guitar sprayed in white undercoat yesterday and put the first coat of bright orange on today.

Next task is to do yet another coat of bright orange, then get my logo printed onto transfer paper and stick it on.

Then comes the most difficult task of all, undercoating the entire guitar and spraying it in a few coats of bright orange before putting some laquer on it lol.

the last stage is simply puttin it back together, setting it up for 12's, installing a killswitch and thats it.

That sucks - having the vcr eat REEL SATRIANI - that is just wrong.

I want to make a copy of it for myself (tape) and will try to convert it to a DVD - but all our equipment is in shambles right now - may be some time.

Good Morning Satchland...... How are you guys?

Went to Wis.for the weekend for my in laws home owners association party. It was great. They had a bon fire where the flames rose to about 8 or 9 feet. They had two piece band that played country songs to backing tracks and they were good. There's something to be said about alcohol and Country music. It's pretty much a perfect marrage. lol ! ! !

On a sad note..... The official report on Todds death was affixiation. Lack of oxygen caused there deaths. I'm not sure I'm buying this one. If you guys remember....two days prior to the accident two men were in the same manhole all day working. Something sucked the oxygen out and I'm leaning toward Methane gas. Anyway it's closure and thanks for all your support and comments.

aussie...... What's up? I work with Pro Tools LE with the Digi 002. If I can help. Let me know.

Stevee T....... How did the lesson go with Gregg? What are you workin on with him?

Delphino....... Sounds like you have a nice project goin' on. I'd like to see a pic of the guitar when you're done.

Michelle..... How are you dear? How's the family? What have you bee up to lately?

Mari...... How have you been? I see you discovered a new drink. Speaking of Vodka. I saw a taste test on TV with Vodka. It was Grey Goose lovers over other brands. The price range was $35 to $13 a bottle. Everyone said they would taste the differance between the great taste of Grey Goose agaist a bargin brand. They did just that. The problem ....all said Grey Goose tasted the worst and most chose the Smirnoff the cheapest out of the bunch as there favorite tasting Vodka. I found that interesting. Anyway....How was Indigenous on Fri? Did you get any good pics? Were you able to get my DVD to them? I'd like to see the pics if possible.

tune....Good to see you posting. Hope all is well.

Cheese / Estrela..... How are you ladies? What's goin' on in your worlds?

Joe Satriani...... Please talk to us. Let us no what you've been up to. Hugs to Rubina and Z.Z. and the band and crew.

Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! ! !

Edit..... Thanks Zinc for the info on the Hendrix DVD. With Eddie Krammer involved it's going to sound great or the best it can get. The National Anthem is a classic. The Sept. issue of Giutar One or Guitar World ( I can't remember which)features that performace in tab. Good Luck everyone ! ! ! ! LOL........

Zinc Master it is good news about the Jimi Hendrix DVD, I will be getting my hand on it the day it comes out. As for Peter Jennings, its a darn shame too, he wasnt that old. I raise my glass to the fellow Canadian.

Joe get out here and do some posting man, we all want to hear from you. Big Bad Moon is the best Satch song around.

Cheers

Steve

Zinc cool news about the Hendrix DVD... and it comes out on my bidet! Woohoo!!!
SupaaDave If you're intending on doing one-take stuff and little editing / programming then that unit will probably suit you well. Also check out the similar Zoom, Boss & Tascam units. On the other hand, if you have a decent-ish spec PC (even an old 850 mHz Pentium with 256MB RAM is good enough) you can get some very good software for nothing and spend your money on a decent soundcard instead, say something from M-Audio, for example... check out Guitarhoo's articles section for more info on the software. That way you'll have infinite control over everything, and it's easier & cheaper to upgrade (more memory, faster processor, more / bigger hard drives, etc )than a standalone unit. HTH!
Okies, shower o'clock, then work... later peeps! Have a great day :-)
EDIT: There's a new article going up in the next day or so, featuring another free software program that really kicks bottoms!

Greg Howe lesson was great...now we're digging into increasing my pallate...by using modes, arpeggios...more intervalic approach....hope all is well!

Thanks Dave.....I managed to download the first two programs, but the third (transistor 404) I can't seem to open. I think it needs to be unzipped but I'm not that PC literate. Oh well, I'll figure it out..SD

Hello Joe, I played guitar since 1991, and ever since I’ve been following your music and style. I really like you as a guitarist and I do have a question to make, guitar related; How do you make the strings/tone cry like that?, I mean the trick you usually do; playing a note as we would normally do, but than you transport down your left hand (neck oriented), until you reach your right hand (around pick ups area), than you grab the tremolo with your right hand. It sounds like a harmonic and/or open note, traveling from up to down. It actually sounds like a note crying. What’s the trick?, where can I find more tips like this?

Best regards Salu

Helloooo Satchland!

I have to say that I am deeply touched and saddened by the loss of Peter Jennings. It has affected me as if he was one of my patients and or friend. He was a friend, a very trusted friend for many years. He will be truly missed! Cancer Sucks! I have a pin that says.... "Cancer Sucks!! Ain't no better way to describe it. I am truly devastated by his passing. We have lost a great human being. I feel like he was a part of my family yet he was the consummate journalist. Truly a Professional! Exteremely committed and deeply respected by the professionals in his field for telling both sides of the story. Something that the news media had often neglected in doing. He's been a part of my life as long as I can remember.......it just saddens me terribly! Even though this is a part of my life I am still human and cry and mourn for those that touch my soul.......you'd think he was my family. Hell, he was in a way. My thoughts and prayers for his family and loved ones....

Peace and God Bless!

Mikesb: In honor of Peter Jennings (a fellow Canadian I think) Frank Marino's RealLive Disc One..."Stories of a Hero" is a fitting song. The more I learned about him the more I was saddened by his passing and our loss. Dan Rather was visibly shaken, he's human and had the utmost respect for his collegue. I find that extremely honorable. I bow to them.

Cheese: Thanks for the Boudreaux and 'D Snake! Made me laugh and feel better. I need a pet snake like dat! LOL! Make sure you work out so you are in shape for the next rafting trip, if you can. Can't hurt right?! ;))

Michelle: It looks like I'm going to the reunion after all in NY along the Hudson.....very beautiful! Let's plan on September, I'll let u know the possible dates. My sister asked me to be Christopher Ryan's God Mother....... (my Darth Vader Voice....."Chris.... I am your God Mother"!) LOL!

Keniko: Indigenous was great...I missed about a half hour and they only played for hour and a half. I did give him you DVD and my Index sheets of photos from the last time I saw them. I'll email you with the details. It was almost a bust...i was ready to go home because I couldn't find the place with 2 sets of Directions!! WYF!! and I can find my way just about anywhere EXCEPT Bethlehem, PA!! They had closed a few streets.......and so on etc! What a f*in nightmare!!

DCK: Mark, YOU ROCK DUDE!! Congrats!! Let us know when we can hear that tune with the other great ones! I told you that A*hole was jealous ........see?! "I Believe" in you!!

Alatariel: Ruth, Happy Birthday!! I hope you have a wonderful day and many more!! :))
