Bom dia my Portuguese friends

Just to say my thoughts are with you as you face the worst drought since 1945 and battle with forest fires.

I hope you and yours are all safe and well.

Steve.

Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee releases his third solo project, Tommyland: The Ride, today (Tuesday, August 9th). Lee told The Zone that he's happier with Tommyland than with either of its predecessors: "It's the best work I've ever done to date. I can tell. You've always got your friends. They always say, 'Oh, that sounds great.' But when it comes from your musical peers, they're honest. You know, other musicians, they're like 'That's pretty cool, but that's killer right there.'"

Lee's previous solo outings were 1999's Methods Of Mayhem and 2002's Never A Dull Moment.

Lee is releasing Tommyland on his own label, through a unique distribution agreement directly with retail supplier the Handleman Company. 604 Records, the label founded by Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger, is issuing the album in Canada.

Tommyland features guest appearances by Kroeger, Velvet Revolver's Matt Sorum, Good Charlotte's Joel and Benji Madden, Sum 41's Deryck Whibley, Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter, Dave Navarro of Jane's Addiction, Andrew McMahon of Something Corporate and Fuel's Carl Bell.

Lee's reality show, Tommy Lee Goes To College, begins airing on August 16th on NBC.

Benny, I have Portnoy's Liquid Drum Theater and it's killer. Very informative. If he has another good one out, I'd like to check it out, but I don't want to buy some unauthorized junk. Knowhatimean?

Good Morning Satchland ! ! ! !

Stevee T......Thanks for your response about Todd. Yeah... Somethings not right. It dosen't get better for Todd and his immediate family. I found out Todd was in the middle of a divorce and his wife acually has a boyfriend. She's sueing for wrongful death( like I said someone is always reponsible)and will end up with Todd's farm. The company is going out of business 'cause of the suit. It's sad. Todd's P's bury there son and are forced out of business. Not a good situation.

Michelle...... Oh my darlin'......Oh my darlin'......(In a Country voice) lol..... ZZ Top is going to rock. Billy Gibbons is one of Joe's favorite guitarists. Have fun.... be safe.

Mari.......Hello Godmother. God bless you. Thanks so much for forwarding my DVD to Indigenous. It means a lot to me. I owe you one. Email me your address and I'll send a replacement. I went to a Greg Koch seminar last night. He's an awesome player. He's signed to Favored Nations. He has a lot of technique and he's so funny. He comes up with craziest shit to say. I gave a live CD of the band for him to critque. You never know...... Thanks again.

aussie..... you might have missed my post. I use Pro Tools LE. If you got a question maybe I can help.

Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! ! !

mikesb......that's a cool old film.. I thought Django was missing a finger or three on his right (or left) hand. It looked like they were all there in that clip. Maybe it was filmed before he lost them or maybe I'm thinking of someone else.

I know most of everyone in here is into hard rock and metal...etc..but I nearly forgot to point out the 10th anniversary of the death of Jerry Garcia. If we could put aside all the dead-head/ hippie/ drug culture band thing and have a listen to his guitar playing, we will see that he was very gifted and sadly missed. He was a very big influence for me in nurturing my love of the instrument. RIP Jerry...love ya man !
