Welcome, No need for your boyfriend to feel bad about no response from Joe. I am new to this site as well, and my first post message went to Joe too with no response, I really do not think Joe spends alot of time here, but I do enjoy reading others posts on their guitar & musical knowledge.

Joe's music has the same effect on me, as it does your boyfriend. My wife enjoys his music too, as do my children, and I have turned on so many people to Joe's music, I think that is one of my purposes in my life, Is to spread the word about Joe to others who are blinded by commercial crap.

Anyways, If you want to help your boyfriend, I recently pick up a book from a music store called "Joe Satriani Anthology" This is a guitar tablature book that shows people how to play at least 29 of his songs, and it is not that out of date. It has songs from almost every album he has recorded, except "Is there any love in space". I think your boyfriend would enjoy this book, and it only cost me $24.95

Well keep on writing, I feel all types of musicians are welcomed.

Hey guys, I havent made a worth while post in a few days so I thought I would.

What have I been upto? well...not much lol. Everyday I've been getting up at 2pm or near enough and playing computer games, making stuff in flash for my cartoon and doing some web design stuff.

My friend bought me a poster today, a salvidor dali painting called The Elephants. Which is cool ofcourse.

I've recently got back into playing the original Unreal Tournament on the PC...360 kills in one game of capture the flag, 354 of which were headshots, so I'm not in too bad shape after about 3 years of not playing it lol.

Michelle

One of my mates has made a video and submitted it to Big-Boys.com...hopefully they put it on their site because I found it hilarious, its pointless and stupid. I'll see if theres a sneak preview on his mypspace profile.

*checks*

Yes its on there :-)

Just scroll down a bit and you'll see it...

Delphino.....lol! Your friend looks so totally serious..he's really INTO that dance for no reason whatsoever...lmao!

I'm awake but not actually functioning at all.... blisters on my feet, legs feel like I'm wading through mud...I lost my entire butt somewhere on the track in the middle of the night and I fear my left hip will never be seen again......but...

What a Night!!

We had our 18 hour Relay for Life, a fund-raising benefit for the American Cancer Society this weekend. Began at noon yesterday, finished up at 6 a.m. this morning with 48 teams participating. Pretty good for this size of town!! Most of the fund raising happened before yesterday's walking took place, but there were opportunities to make money at the event too...

The theme for this year's event was Mardi Gras...our team was nicknamed the Cajun Cats, we decorated our tent site, a baton and ourselves of course...everything was very festive! Our team even had a table full of fun stuff to sell, sold every last item with a little help from an 8 year old team member who ran around all night with puppy dog eyes begging people to buy things from him! And it worked!!

There was also a Silent Auction with really cool stuff to bid on...I think I won a basket but was too tired to find out before coming home...ah well, they'll track me down...

I had a word with the DJ for the event as they were playing really crummy pop music much of the night...I had gone armed with plenty of Joe's cd's and my headphones....and just couldn't take it anymore!! Marched over and asked if he'd ever heard of Joe Satriani, he had....gave him my Is There Love in Space cd and told him we needed some GOOD walking music to get the blood flowing...this was at like 1 a.m....

JOE!! You'll be happy to know we rocked out to Gnaahh, Up In Flames, Hands in the Air, and Lifestyle!! I think I made a few more new fans for you last night!! :)

We had luminary bags lining the entire quarter mile track and the candles burned all night. It was so humbling to read the names and messages people decorated the bags with as I walked around and around, into the night..... they left the stadium lights off so the stars were very bright...the Big Dipper was incredible and so close...

It was a beautiful night and a beautiful event and I felt so lucky to be healthy and able to participate in even a small way in such a worthy cause, even as my heart wept for all the names on the luminaries, and all the others that came before them and those who will battle this disease in the future....

Every year, at the end of the night, when I'm so tired and sore, I swear I won't participate next year. But the tiredness and soreness goes away in a day or two...people with cancer aren't so lucky. Please, if you ever have the chance to help out in any way, do consider it. I was lucky enough to have only 2 luminaries on the track, one for my uncle who passed, and one for my dad who continues the fight.... I pray I'll never need more and a cure is found.......

Hey Guys! HELP NEEDED!!

A new book covering ‘30 years of rock ‘n’ roll from the fans perspective’ is in the pipeline and its author, Nambucco Deliria, is looking for help in its completion. “Basically, I was thinking that, in the last four decades, a lot of the big records are accepted as that simply because somebody said something to that effect twenty years ago. But nobody ever asks the fans. This is their chance to speak out in print about the records that may have changed their lives” Deliria has constructed ‘the masterlist’, a selection of the ‘most important releases since 1974’ which he wants to give to anyone interested to record their thoughts about why records are great, or, for that matter, bad. “I’m not looking for reviews, God knows we see enough of those. But I am looking for the personal, and hopefully amusing elements- I know ‘Nevermind’ is an epochal album, but what did it mean to people in Naples or Norwich, as opposed to a reviewer in New York or London? The book, slated to be titled ‘What About The Fans?’ will feature as many contributions as possible ‘from ordinary members of the public’ but Nambucco hopes to hear from band members, managers, roadies and the like to give what he hopes will be ‘a unique look at how music shapes everyone’s lives” Anyone keen to get involved with the project should contact Nambucco at thirtyyearsofrnr@hotmail.com

Suzie2000: hey Suzie! hope you had a nice weekend! Say hi to Matt for me...things are going well here. So much to do and so little time. I'm watching the flights, they've been going down. Just what I'm hoping for, I think they will go down even more. I'll send you and email this week. I'm so sorry for your loss. It's tough to lose 2 close friends and then have another diagnosed with terminal Cancer. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones. Hang in there......cherish each day. One never knows what tomorrow may bring. I treat Cancer patients so it's a part of my life. It's not as depressing as everyone thinks. Death and Cancer are facts of Life. It's a part of life you can't escape, so you must deal with it. Trust me though, I have my moments. I do cry sometimes. I cry over some commercials too.LOL! It's not often but it's a reminder that I've got a heart and I care very much about other Human Beings. God Bless!

DCK: Mark I'm so sorry for your loss. Most everyone has someone in their lives Cancer has touched. :-( I hope for the best for your sister. How old is she? I'm sure she's really young. Tell her to hang tough through the treatments, It's not easy. Lung cancer is a tough disease. God Bless!

Zinc: Great Bumper Stickers!! LMAO!! I also love Thaturdays and Thundays too.... hehe! ;))

Michelle: Wow!!! Damn I can't believe that they got away with that!! Sucks! It shows you just can't be too careful these days.......watch your back always. Are you free in the 13th for lunch? I'm not going to the reunion, going to visit my sister instead. I hope it's OK for you. It's been a while........ :)

Cheese101: Traci, I'm glad to hear your father is a survivor. I know your Uncle and your father will be very proud for your involvement in the Relay For Life. Congrats to you!! I bow to you Trac. You Rock girl!

Stevee T: Sorry to hear about your gal's Mom's passing.....Alzheimer's is a terrible disease for all of those involved. My friend/hairdresser's Mom has it. She is totally dependent on others. It happened so quick! My thoughts and prayers are with you both and her family.

juju808: What and incredible time you've had with Alex and he must be so thrilled playing at Red Rock and recording with Adrian Johnson. Sorry the sound wasn't too good for Collective Soul, it was great when I saw them in Philly. I'm glad you had such a wonderful visit with him. I can't wait to hear more about the trip. Hugs and Kisses to both of you................. ~~Sea Eyes~~~

Keniko: Hey! How's it going? I'm listening to Indigenous getting ready for Friday night!! I can't wait! I'm going to have a few of my photos printed to 8x10's and have them signed. I have to send some to their website tomorrow. How's things coming with the band?

Slanshroom: Was listening to your CD earlier.......I hear more every time I listen to it. It's just incredibly beautiful music. I'm so glad I have it.

Clarky: Where the hell you at? Clarky's are good at hiding out too, I imagine. LOL! I hope all's well. I was listening to Shreds earlier. I can't wait to hear you Jam again. I'll see you in October! ;) See if (Aardvark) Ed's going to be around to see VAi too..

Hugs and kisses to both of you....al, I've now got your phone number....can I sell it to the highest bidder??? mwahaha.....

VF Rocker and Mari, thanks for the good messages and good wishes for my dad. He's cool! And very stoic about the whole thing...his philosophy is, whatever happens, happens, no reason to get all twitterpated about it!! He makes me laugh.... :)

Good Morning Satchland....... How are you guy's?

Well I had one hell-of-a weekend. It started with my niece's birthday party at my brother's house on Fri. Michelle turned 21. God bless her. We were drinking and partying to 4:30am. Sat. got up at 10am to start preparing for our son Aaron's graduation party. He graduated Devry. YEAH ! ! !. Cindy and I again went to about 4 am. WHEW ! ! ! ! Slept finially to about 12 noon got up and started cleaning up and returning rented chairs and tables, shit like that. It was well worth it though. They only graduate once. We went through one 6' sub sandwich and two 1/2 barrels of beer. That's a good sign of a good party. Anyway I'm draggin'.

aussie......... it happens. Sometimes you just have to walk away. I remerber reading an interview with Joe. He was recording a new cd and nothing was going right for him. He was actually crying over it. He scrubbed the whole project. Then Joe hooked up with the Bissonette bros. and the project turned out to be the Extremist cd. Joe said he got alot of his inspiration back through Greg and Matt. I guess what I'm saying is let it go but always be thinking of ideas for the solo. Inspiration comes at weird times. The light will go off in your head and better have your axe close when it does....lol.......

michelle..... sorry to hear about the credit card theft. That sucks. The good news ....you cought it quickly.

SteveeT...... hope your lady's mom is better. Let us know how the Gregg lesson goes.

Mari...... Thanks for asking about the band. Scheduled Aug 16th to get back with those guys I played with in early July. Also have more people interested from a new post in a local bullitin board . So it looks like I have more people to look at. I'm excited. I want to play so bad. I saw Joe Bonnamassa July23rd. I met Joan there. She's great. I got to meet Joe B and gave him my DVD. He also signed all 6 of my CD's. I was disappointed in his behavior to me and the other fans. He was very cold and was clearly not interested in listening to what people had to say to him. It left me with a bad taste. What a difference between Joe Satriani and Joe B. Satch has so much more class. Period. Great news about seeing Indigenous on Fri. Could I send you my DVD to possibly get it to them? That would be great if you could do that. They played in Chicago mid July and didn't even know it. I'm pissed at myself. Take care. Keep in touch.

Have A Great Day Everyone ! ! ! !
