i was th first fan who caught up with u in india, mumbai airport. i still cant belive that u accepted my gift.
i hope u liked it. still cant belive it.
i absolutely love ur music 24/7 its on in my house, irrespective
of what my neighbours say bout the volume.
if u can suggest me somethin for my picking, i would be delighted and overwhelmed. its really admirable , the contribution of urs to the instrumental music industry.
you really are a consummate artist.
i hope its hangin in there in ur house, may be but i would like to know that, if u have some time.
i salute you!

i just want to say to stu ham that on the live in san fransisco album. Bass solo was very good. i am not a bass guitar player but i have played with three of them in two different groups and i have to say from what ive seen them play and then listening to you play bass solo, i was very impressed. i think it was great. My question is what kind of bass do you playu 4, 5 , or six string and how are they different. i mean how is a 4 string different then a six or a five.. This may sound like a stupid question but like i said ive never played bass so i have no idea. thanks

webmaster - Awesome...thanks for the info. :-)
962 - "I didn't know Morse had done a tribute too....I'd like to hear that."
Go here and scroll down for a sound clip.
I know I've told this story on T2J before, but Steve Morse had a guitar in his lap and he was just fooling around with it while he was watching the Columbia reentry live on television. So he came up wtih the melody immediately after it burned up, and he went right to the studio and recorded it with Deep Purple.
Zinc Master - "Green Day Gets 'Best Band on Planet' Award"
...
"First published in 1981, Britain-based Kerrang! magazine has covered the hard-rock end of the music spectrum ever since."
Green Day is NOT hard rock. They aren't even punk anymore. Meh.
cheese101 - Octavarium is probably my second-favorite Dream Theater album. Train Of Thought is great, but I like the band's other albums more. My favorite Dream Theater album is Awake. I'd check out that one...it has a little bit of everything that they do (weird prog, heavy stuff, acoustic stuff, etc.)...
Dr Ice - Stu Hamm usually plays four-string basses (EADG). Five-string basses are usually tuned BEADG, and Six-string basses are usually tuned BEADGC.
aussieRGman - The quality of video / audio needed for a DVD / CD release is much greater than that which is needed for a webcast. The webcast probably wasn't recorded in high enough quality, so it probably won't ever be released commercially.
That's been the case with past webcasts, anyway.
...Austin...

Hey Webmaster Jon!! It's also very nice to know that the Martian Death Flu dint get ya permanently!! Welcome back, and hopefully you're fully recovered by now!!
Dakook, ohhhh, I think that would be spectacular....would this resemble any tats you might have? I hope you share pics with us once it's done!! And mebbee some salsa...lol!!
Austin, thanks for the recommendation, I'll check that out too. I just got Train of Thought in the mail today and gave it a listen, it rocks pretty hard!! Have you heard JP's cd yet?
And if I interpreted my "wolf-speak" correctly, wolf2 is having to leave us? No more internet after early September? Take care of yourself man.......
Has anyone read the feature article on Eric Johnson in the new Guitar Player mag? It's a really nice story...he mentions he's "working on a half-instructional/half-live performance DVD and an acoustic album which is nearly finished, a 5.1 surround mix of Ah Via Musicom and a dvd and cd release of the Ah Via Musicom-era Austin City Limits appearance".
Busy guy!
Have a great weekend all....I WAS going rafting tomorrow, but I think I caught Jon's Martian Death Flu and am going down fer the count...of course, it HAD to hit my last free weekend when I was going rafting. Dammit. Sigh....I'll survive, but I sure as heck won't be happy. Humph!

Great to hear about the G3 DVD.Shame that Petrucci is only entitled to 2 songs, but I guess that's due to the length of his tunes.Still weird.
If you like Stuart Hamm's playing, check out Graham Shackelford www.myspace.com/thejanitorsofchaos
(he studied with Stu briefly)
:D any oppurtunity to whore out my band :D
