I knew my comments might cause a stir, but things like "did this have to happen" always end up getting turned around and construed and contorted so it's possible to say "THIS person is to blame for this", which is ridiculous 'cause nobody is responsible for the natural cycle of the planet.

Then again, if we didn't all burn so much fossil fuel and pump so much sh*t into the atmosphere, the global weather systems would be more stable.

However, I completely understand that the context of that quoted comment was, of course, that warnings and damage limitation plans could have been put in place but weren't. And yes, it is Mr Bush who you can point the finger at. If he pulls all your troops out of the gulf to come home and stop the looters/help rebuild New Orleans, then he proves that he never really was interested in liberating/protecting "the Iraqi people". If he leaves your troops there, then he proves that all he really wanted was the oil, so he can't win, which is cool, 'cause he doesn't deserve to win.

The latest news report that had me creased up laughing/crying, was that the US now wants to import fuel (gasoline) from Europe. This is the same US that, not two years ago, put an embargo on trade with Europe, especially France.

Please don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that anybody deserved to get hit by a hurricane.....the footage and photographs of the level of devastation are shocking.....but it just seems that everything is turning really sour now that the US is realising the things that the rest of the world has been telling it for the last 5 years.

He played Up in the Sky for me last night, as he's been working on it all summer, and now has the right fx pedals...it sounded totally AWESOME!! And soooooooo loud.....LOL!! As for my job, it's still going...and going....and going....for now anyway. Cheese, I'm in bad shape man. lol! Still have the ol' nogin thumpin' away, and now I got some kind of spasm thing in my neck and shoulders. It hurts to move. lol! It's been creepin' up on me all week, but it was just a sharp pain that hurt like hell, but went away. Well, this morning I put both my arms out in front of me to reach for something and it happened again, but it stayed this time. lol! I hate when that happens. SupaaDave, my husband was going on about the reporters last night too. It seems to be so easy for reporters and entertainers to get in and out in a snap, but yet they can't get anyone else out? Where are the trucks and busses? There have to be shelters in other places. I know most places are probably full due to everyone who left before the storm hit, but you would think the government would make a friggin tent city somewhere! We seem to be able to do it for others, but we can't get it together for ourselves? All the money from the Red Cross is coming in, millions and millions, and still people have no food and water. I know this thing is bigger than any of us can comprehend, and being an amrchair quarterback is always easy. All we can do is pray and hope things start moving in the right direction.

A 17 yr old boy stole a school bus, loaded it with people, and picked ppl. up along the interstate along the way, and drove for 7 hours to get to the Astrodome. If a 17 yr old can figure it out, why can't others? Busses are just sitting there. Why aren't the authorities getting people out? They were the first bus to the Astrodome. The Astrodome is now full and turning people away.

DCK, if you haven't read about the rapes - keep reading. They even arrested a few men trying to get into the woman showers at the Astrodome. The Superdome has much more violence. Tourists are targeted, as well as women. It's the sad, sad truth. A thug is a thug no matter what the situation.
