Captain Steve....today is my son's 11th birthday. On the day he was born (before we knew the 18th was the day) I thought of how cool it would be for my son to be born on such a momentous anniversary...guess I got my wish.

And even though it is'nt the happiest day in terms of Jimi dying...just think of the people it affected in a good way.

GREYFOX,,Who really knows that? Being close to God,,is a personal thing to be shared by the person that believes,,IF HE OR SHE CHOOSES..I recently watched an interview with steve,,he said that BOTH him & Joe are extremely flattered by their sucess & neither of them take what they've acheived for granted. Now days kids cant even say the PLEDGE OF ALEGENCE in school because ONE NATION UNDER GOD is in it..I personally dont get it yet I do..People dont want to hear GOD'S name, SAD..LOVE TO ALL..GOD BLESS,,Im not ashamed!!

cheese101/chris...the signature models have the digital rendering of Joe's neck (the neck is also truer) comes with DiMarzio's instead of Ibanez stock PU's, and the trem is of higher quality...high pass filter too....FYI...my JS100 has been re-fit with Seymour PU's & set up by a very gifted luthier to Joe's spec's...it's play's better than the JS1000's out of the box, but if you got the cash....signature series is the way to go!

Hope I've been of help! (don't forget the endless hours of practice on a consitent schedule...years... a lifetime)

Kings X: Yahoo! Good band. I used to jam with thier old bass player, Randy Dazey. Good friends with Huey Lewis......JOE: I've notices that you have signature straps and stuff now(thanks to T2J). Are you still using fender picks? I'm still using the dunlop tortex. Various sizes, I can't decide. I use fairly heavy picks for the control. Hope you are getting some rest. Sounds like your getting some new jams ready, too! Don't worry, your new Dvd's and cd's will keep me busy for a while. At least untill your newest comes out! KTF Randell

So our show this weekend was pretty good. I think we played very tight as a band this evening. Our sound guys told me that my guitar playing was much tighter this evening than usual - I think that's because I really played much more conservative than usual. The bar owner stiffed us a bit and only payed us 300 bucks though which isn't much considering we played for 4 HOURS!!! C-y'all

Hows it going Joe. I went to the Steve Miller Band show in Mountain View, CA on Saturday the 17th and man was it an awesome show. Throughout his set he brought out some musicians from San Francisco, and no more then halfway into his set, he was about to bring someone else out, and it was none other than JOE SATRIANI!!!!!! My girlfriend and I flipped out and started screaming. And out you came strolling onto the stage. It was so ironic because the first two concerts my girlfriend and I went to were Steve Miller Band and then your show at the Reno Hilton. It was already an awesome concert, but when you came out, it made that concert so much better. I hope youre doing well and I hope youre working on either a new album or a new tour, hopefully both!!! Have fun and thanks again for making yet another memorable night for my girlfriend and I!!!

To all Joe fans, I have never posted on this site, but i now feel compelled to do so . I am very unhappy about the "Premium Package tickets " offered at two or three times or sometimes more, than the normal ticket price at most Joe satriani and Steve Vai gigs. I am a long time irish fan of both joe and steve. I have met them a good few times at thier irish gigs because i have queued from early in the day and even taken time off work to get there and be first at the door. I have snuck in to see them do thier soundchecks and have even sat in on Steve recording a song or two. Now to be thier biggest fan i must pay for the priveledge . I thought i had paid already . I have EVERY c.d., EVERY dvd, The G3 albums and the Whitesnake album ,some T-shirts Oh and My tickets for each and every gig !!! This is simply a corporate money making scam , Its discusting as joe and steve are "all about the music " . Not any more it seems.. If you agree, let joe know ... TO ALL: I just got a new CD/DVD player and it has the capability to play SACDs. Can anyone here recommend any CDs in the SACD format that are good to get?

Thanks

michelle: do you have any SACDs?

TomSr, if you have a DVD player and a 5.1 stereo setup, dont waste your time with SACD's, they cost more than DVD audios AND deliver less sound... Some great DVD audios available:

Deep Purple Machine Head - Staggering sound

Eric Johnson Ah Via Musicom

Eagles Hotel California

Gary Moore Back to The Blues

Yes Fragile

Last but not least, Billy Cobham Spectrum... Quadrant will blow you out of the room!!! Don't believe me? Just ask Michelle, she has that one too!!!

and loads of others!!! Still waiting for Dark Side of the Moon tho!! Fingers crossed!!!

TomSr, so buy a DVD player for your living room they are DIRT CHEAP now, great for watchin rental movies and listening to DVD audio..... Remember, the sound on DVD audio is 5.1 and you know that the storage space for sound is HUGE compared to a CD or SACD for that matter. many companies are now issuing dual discs now, DVD+CD in the same pkge so the investment at this time is worthwhile my friend.....

Well, if you can't even trust a hitman..

TOKYO (Reuters) - A Japanese woman called in the police after a hitman she paid to kill her lover's wife failed to carry out the job.

The 32-year-old Tokyo woman was arrested Wednesday for incitement to murder, the Daily Yomiuri newspaper said Friday.

The woman contacted a private detective through a Web site last November and paid him 1 million yen in cash to murder her love rival, the paper said.

The 40-year-old detective accepted the money and suggested he could carry out the job by chasing the victim on a motorcycle and spraying her with a biological agent in a tunnel.

Police also arrested the private detective and found the alleged target safe and well, the paper said.

How to dispute a credit card purchase

PART ONE OF TWO

It's trickier than you might think. Here's what you're entitled to under the law, and the steps you need to take to make a successful case. By Lucy Lazarony, Bankrate.com

Don't you just hate it when you buy a product and bring it home, only to discover the product is damaged or poorly made?

To make matters worse, the merchant refuses to replace it or give you a refund.

If you made the purchase with a credit card, your card company may be able to help.

Credit card purchases are protected under the Fair Credit Billing Act. This law gives the consumer the right to withhold payment on poor-quality or damaged merchandise purchased with a credit card.

Just a few catches

Under the law, you do need to make a real effort at resolving the dispute with the merchant before you can ask your issuer to stop a credit card payment. There are a few other catches as well.

The sale must be for more than $50 and have taken place in your home state or within 100 miles of your home address. Few issuers enforce the $50 or 100-mile rule on purchases, but all are free to do so.

So there's a chance that you'll be able to dispute credit card charges on shoddy merchandise purchased outside your home state, over the Internet, by mail order or phone order.

"Many credit card companies will let you dispute that," says Jeanne M. Hogarth, a program manager in consumer policies at the Federal Reserve Board. "Technically, they don't have to."

Eager to please

Because card companies are eager to hang on to their customers, especially good ones, they'll often go above and beyond what's required of them by law when a customer is unhappy with a card purchase.

For example, Capital One issues a temporary credit to a customer's account when a purchase is in dispute.

"If a customer sends a dispute letter, we'll issue a temporary credit so they won't have to pay for it," says Diana Don, a spokeswoman for Capital One. "We're giving the benefit of the doubt to the customer."

Capital One then contacts the merchant. If Capital One agrees with the customer, the refund stands. If Capital One sides with the merchant, the customer must pay for the item, plus finance charges.

Some card companies may be less generous when a big-ticket item is in dispute or if you made the purchase while traveling overseas. It all depends on the card company and how much they value you as a customer. They can point to the limits spelled out in the Fair Credit Billing Act whenever they want to.

"This is goodwill and that's all it is," Hogarth says. "At any time a credit card company can fall back on what's required by law."
