MR. satriani i have been a guitarist for 2 years now and have really just realized how much it means to me its become my passion now and thats all i think about and i know i will never be happy unless i master guitar i do not wish to follow you or vai but follow my own path but at the same time have the understanding of all the basics that you know so well. i am looking at is a career to become a studio musician and beyond i have taken up my studies back from the begining so i can pound the basics and rid my self of tabs and learn regular notation but i have a question for you about practicing and concentration i have most likely a very common problem. the problem is when i am practicing i tend to stick with stuff i know well on guitar like my pentatonic scales and major scales but i can never pay attention to stuff like learning my basic 21 chords: major triads minor and 7th's how did you over come this problem and what would u suggest for me as a solution

Not sure if this is my last post before my trip. I'll miss yah.
My Co-worker just lost her baby boy.......John. He was due
Oct 18. I'm so depressed.......She's delivering today, a rainy dreay day. My problems are nothing compared to others.....
I can do nothing to help her. So sad.

14 days....EXACTLY 2 WEEKS AWAY.....
Hiya Jon!! We all hope to hear from you and Joe soon on the dvd "goodies"....the video and audio previews, contest, etc...I for one am very excited over the release of this dvd and cd....but the wait might be just a lil easier with a word or four from you or Joe..... :) Startin my happy dance...... LOL!!
And GUESS WHAT!!!! Tomorrow it will be only 13 days..... ;)

Bendie Ben, you need to listen to some hardcore rhythm players. Check out anything that Nuno Bettencourt did, he's one of the best rhythm players out there. Also, if you find a copy of "T-Ride" check that out, but it's like gold-dust, so don't put any money on finding a copy! I think you can get it on amazon-usa though.
Listening to Nuno's rhythm playing has helped me more than anyone else. In conjunction with that, try to play rhythm to imaginary drum patterns in you head....think of a drum fill or a shuffle or something...anything...and replicate it on guitar.
Optik, yeah my feeling about G3 '03 was the same....it just didn't work with Yngwie, I thought Eric Johnson on G3 96 was amazing!
PhryDom, haha, that's hilarious! Damn singers, they're always getting busted on drug charges! They never seem to actually serve a sentence though...

Pink Floyd News
A DVD version of the 1995 Pink Floyd concert video Pulse will be released in the United Kingdom on Dec. 5, and likely will be made available in the United States around the same time. The feature, which originally was issued in the VHS format, captures 1994 Floyd performances in London during the band's final tour. The disc also will include music videos, bonus live footage and a documentary titled Goodbye to Life as We Know It.
