962 haha if you think the vai forums are bad, try reading the petrucci forums.....i have never seen such assholes in my life, all they do over there is bash JP for missing a note or blinking wrong or downpicking when he should have uppicked and so on. its no wonder why JP doesnt go on his boards anymore, i hate going there now....its really really sad! i hope this site never turns into anything like that!

Brother Al, I wish I was talking about just the f-spacing thread! haha, it's almost every damn thing I post, rather than somebody giving the sort of response that they would here if they disagreed with something I'd said, they give all this "oh that's complete bullshit", "oh are you a f*ck*n retard?" kind of thing....it's so HOSTILE!!!! By the way, I noticed you remained neutral, so thanks!

Stevee T, if I had the spare mular I would, but I would probably go for the 10th....I'm not quite sure why, there's just something about it! I'd love to try the new one though!
OCPS470, haha, yeah I sometimes do need a jolt up the ass to rmind myself how much I have learned, and also to remind myself to try and make music from an artistic point of view rather than technical! It's the old "write with your head, not with your hands" thing.....that's what I'm trying to do more of now!
DCK, you have an opportunity to get a Legacy for 400 dollars? Dude that is nothing.....you must do it! Honestly, even if you have to retube it like I did, it is so worth it. I haven't really heard another amp like it, you can get a massive variety of tones from it!

Also, haha, yeah I always think of that when I play my bass - "oh yeah, mark played this a few weeks before I did in a shop in Canada!". It's crazy man, but cool! Actually the electronics got a bit sick recently, but I think they just need replacing. I got a second opinion and we thought one of the pickups needed rewinding, but I'm not sure now, I think it just needs the other electronic parts just replacing! It's fine right now though, and very useful!

Also, go easy on yourself dude......you've got a load of cool friends here and I'm sure we'd all agree that you're a cracking musician! I know the sort of rut your in though......just try and analyse what aspects of playign you take from different influences and then build on it! And if you haven't bought any new CD's in a while, do that....fresh inspiration is the best aid!

PhryDom, haha, yeah I have to agree with those observations! It just takes me a while to adjust, what with everybody here on T2J being so sociable and having so much character, Vai's hordes of web-demons are about as fun as a drinks party at Death's house......you can pretend you're getting on fine for as long as you like but you know, at some point, it's all going to turn sour! hahaha
TheBob, hahaha, that's f*ck*ng hilarious man....let me just pick myself up off the floor! I mean, it's sad, but it's also awkwardly funny.....WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE?!!!! I've never been to the Petrucci forums, and I don't get the impression I'm missing much!

I can't see that ever happening here.....last time there was a bit of civil unrest, Joe himself stepped in and said "cool it folks" and everyone did. Joe commands a certain easy-going-ness that you generally find among his fans.

Even outside the forums - last year I met with some other T2Jers before a G3 gig and everyone got on fine and it was cool to meet everyone. A few months prior I had met with a bunch of vai.com 'board members prior to one of Vai's shows in Holland, and it was all really uncomfortable and awkward!

after all that, hope you folks all have a groovy weekend! haha

Hi everyone!

962, "Oh my god, I can't believe how f*ck*ng stressy vai.com messageboard members are! What a bunch of assholes. Ok I know some of them are cool, but some are such self-centered retards, it's crazy....T2J is so much more groovy and sociable!"

LOL...let's be focused on the coolest members!

"Also, awesome, thanks for putting "Silver Rain" on your playlist! That's so cool! Muchas gracias! now, should I adress you as a seniora or seniorita? I'm not sure what sort of age it becomes "correct" to address a lady as a seniora! Sorry, I know I've spelled "seniora" wrong, but I can't easily write an "n" with a cadilla over the top! haha"

Haha, in fact the treatment as "señora" or "señorita" depends on your marital status! So, married and widowed women are "señoras" and single women are "señoritas" whatever your age is. So...I'm a señorita (of 34) but still señorita! LOL "Silver Rain" is one of your best...

962/Delfino Pie, I liked Robert Fripp too at G3. It was a shame the bad response of the audience during the tour. Perhaps he is not the ideal musician to a G3 rock guitar show...but how can some people be so "thick" musically speaking? I still remember his ambiental, experimental and enigmatic music and some terrific solos he played with Joe and Steve during "Ice 9"!! It's worth seeing this man! And another shame is that in some G3 2004 CD bootlegs, his performance has been cut completely! :-(

gotta have Joe, ¡hola Kayla! if you allow me...it's "muchas gracias" not "mucho gracias" ;-)

Have a nice weekend everyone!

Bruce Lee's Death Was Accident

HONG KONG - Bruce Lee's former producer, Raymond Chow, says the kung fu star's sudden death at age 32 is a straightforward case of taking the wrong medicine. Lee died of an edema, or swelling of the brain, in the home of Hong Kong actress Betty Ting Pei in 1973. The coroner described his passing as "death by misadventure."

The circumstances of Lee's death fueled speculation that drugs were involved and Lee was having an affair with Ting.

Chow, one of the founders of Golden Harvest studios, said Lee died because he took headache medication that he was "hypersensitive" to at someone else's home, refraining from referring to Ting directly.

He said Lee was sensitive to one of the three ingredients in the medication, equigesic.

"The bottom line is it was an accident," Chow told The Associated Press during a recent interview.

Chow, who said he shared Lee's Chinese nationalism, explained he was personally devastated by Lee's death, which led to him putting "Game of Death," Lee's last movie, on hold.

"I didn't think about other things like the company or career affairs. At the time the most important thing is that I felt I lost a very, very good friend," Chow recalled.

Hey everybody, Although I'm very interested in the new G3 that is coming out. I sometimes wonder the wisdom of what songs are chosen by Joe.....

For example, why play up in flames? I think there are better songs on that album..... Though choosing Searching is very gutsy, and I applaud going after the harder songs.

It also when it comes Grammy time. I am really surprised by the songs that are chosen to represent Joe, I'm not sure if they are chosen, or he chooses them... but it's wierd.

Other thoughts: If petrucci was still using an Ibanez... that would be an amazing marketing campaign wouldn't it? If you haven't heard his new solo album, do go and buy it. It's quite amazing.

I wasn’t too crazy about Steve's new album except for 2 or 3 songs...

Well that's my 2 bits....

LucySorets, oh that's cool, I didn't realise the señora/señorita thing was about marital status.....I think I was conusing it with French where it's an age thing! Also, the poor reception of Robert Fripp was a great disappointemnt to me - as far as the G3 jam was concerned, he played by far the best bits. I have a sneaking suspicion that most of the narrow-minded heckling was coming from the Vai loyalists.

Sorry, you said focus on the cool Vai fans didn't you?! haha. Hope you're having a groovy weekend!

gotta have joe, just to add a little to what Lucy said, "muchos" would be masculine and "muchas" would be feminine, so to Lucy you could say "muchas gracias mis amiga", while to a guy (like me :-p) you could say "muchos gracias mis amigo". I might be mistaken in putting the "s" on the end of "mis", but I believe it's always on there, it's just silent!
