Joe I feel like guitar is a nightmare. I can't understand it. I can't have real fun with it. What do I do? I don't want to give up my guitar.

Hey there, Joe. You were a real inspiration for me when I was just getting into music. You'd be astonished at how often I listened to your albums from the ages of 12 until around 15, and I still put them on from time to time, of course. You were a real, formative, important influence for me. I played "Flying in a Blue Dream" and "Summer Song" in various high school concerts.

Anyway, I'm 27 now and I'm a composer/performer of original piano music. It's NOT new age, it's much more intense and exciting than that. Have a look at this trailer for my upcoming album and I'd be thrilled to hear what you think:

Thanks for the music, Joe!

Hey Joe, It has been almost a year (10\29\04) since you kicked ass at the House of Blues in New Orleans before its tragedy. It would be nice if you could put the big easy on your tour schedule and be one of the first bands to breath some life back into the city.

Suzie, I gotta say, I think the new president of Iran is more likely to be the antichrist than Tony is! There's some scary shit goin on there!

gotta have joe, yeah I'm good thanks. A bit disappointed 'cause I found out that Tower Of Power were playing in London 4 days ago and I missed it! :-( Hopefully they'll come back here soon, I really want to see those guys play!
VaiLaihoWylde, I wish I could help more but there's too much to start explaining it on here! You need to get a teacher. Also, you need to have an idea of what sort of thing you do and don't want to play on guitar.

How long have you been playing, what sort of things have you learned so far?

Rob310, yeah maybe a "G2" kind of thing is what's needed?! They should definitely record some stuff together! I'm personally waiting to see Andy Timmons on G3 though, I think he would put the guitar playing world firmly in it's place. The few bits and pieces I've seen of him jamming with Joe and Steve......he kills man, he's just amazing!

Zinc - so what countries in the world play in the world series?

phryg - busy at work... putting the finishig touches on the album... everything is going pretty well...
got some new cans for the studio... Sony MDR7509... awesome... truely awesome...
Zen - have you heard the Vai track Lotus Feet???

Blues Fission - top man.. lmao... very cool comment...

slansh - ... lmao.. what areyou like.. lmao...

so you play jazz... you mix rock, blues, celtic folk and gypsy folk.. and a dash of classical...
Jazz fused with stuff per chance?? lmao...

I know what you mean about jazz fusion though.. because the worst - and most common stuff is has to offer are
the university types that think they can out play everyone just cos they're "out there"
and the belief that every other style of music is twee and simple...
but they never look inwards to see the self indulgant bullshit
and certainly never have the nads to own up to the fact that they really have no idea of how to write a simple 4 minute song that is good...

but the quality jazz fusion types - Weather Report, Mahavisnu, Brand X etc.. and yourself too..
quality stuff.... tip top..

steel hands - count Rory Galagher in there too....
things is.. these guys sound like they're playing on 9's.. lmao... effortless...

Doh!!! When I wrote earlier: "...which reminds me that I've gotta go and buy G3 Tokyo-dvd as soon as I can get my buttocs to a musicstore while them are open (busy again).", I did not mean that my lower cheeks should be opened in any way while I rush into a store... , but anyway I'm having a day off and dashed into one; the guy checked on his data and told me the release date for us is not until 2nd november!?! ...Well, perhaps I'll manage to get back there some evening next week while it's open :-( ...oh, but the dvd's price he told me sounded pretty decent; nothing more than they usually take for new cds :-)

marimariSRV: Always nice to hear (read) from you too. My high five to you was not only for agreeing with me about mr. Morse's excellence but also for you for making you're life worth living. Way to go, sister!

Another SOTD from Foo Fighters: "Times Like These".

I respect mr. Dave Grohl very much! All the projects he already has involved in...and the fact that he is making so much good stuff (more than just musically). A sence of stylishness (the best expression I could give with my limited english) is -in my opinion- the most important talent to make good music...technical playing(/singing) skills is also needed, of course.

Mr. Grohl reminds me of me... or what I perhaps could have become if I had chosen otherwise back then... [notice even the modesty ;-)

I wonder what kind of stuff would/could they make with mr. Satriani?

A Nikon D70S no less, would I be right in guessing you are a keen amateur photographer who makes a bit of money here and there or do I do you a disservice? Semi-pro?

Good luck and keep rocking.

PhryDom...I'm not sure if Gilmour still does it, but Roger Waters noted that when David auditioned for Pink Floyd he was wearing unmatched socks...I don't know maybe it was just a result of the times...it being the 60's and all. Roger found it humorous nonetheless and I think it played a small role in him being accepted into the band.

I have to add that after countless milllions of hours listening to him play...he is a very obvious influence in my playing style. I can hear him come out occasionally when I'm playing and I especially loved playing Floyd covers when I was in a band. Peace, SD
