Well, it is 9:45 pm, I just got home from the G3 live screening at the Universal City theater. We waited for 45 minutes, and the show never started. They told us the projector was not working at all. They called some tech guy and he was coming in like 45 minutes. So, in short, we never got to see the show. Another problem was the fact that nobody was selling DVDs at the theater like expected, any be I got it all wrong and it wasn't supposed to be at the Universal City location. Anyway, what a disappointing night!! We know, though, is not Joe's fault, this is all a management, organizational problem. Someone at the theater said, "If it was Eminem's concert everything would have run smoothly." That was the buzz at the theater. The only possitive thing was seeing kids, 10-11 years old there, a lot of them; it showed me there is still hope for real music in this world. Anyway, I guess I am going to have to get the DVD and watch it in my 32 inch TV

Well, it sucks what happened to the Universal City Walk Tokyo Screening. It ended up being a huge disappointment, as I'm sure you will soon hear about. Others and I hung out til sometime after 10p (show suppose to start @ 8) after several attempts to get the show going, managment finally came out to say its not gonna happen. We had sound, but no video. Even after a call and appearance from "tech support." Any chance you can do a backyard concert for compensation for our inconvenience....ha. Had to try.

dakook...those are very kind words....and they are heart felt... I'm certain...there are many other talented people on this site that have much to contribute & make it worth all our while to visit...thanks for allowing my music to resonate within your soul...as we attempt to emulate our hero's...maybe we can dare (as Joe has said) to take a little bit of each of them, and make something you can call your own. I hope when i grow up...i can be a big nasty gitar player...lol.....peace out ma funkaaaay...brutha...i love you too man...

Joe Satriani...I noticed that it appears you don't use the Fat Finger anymore....????

First things First, Hey JOE - Thanks for leaving all the normal stuff and picking up a guitar, the world would be a sadder place without your music, there is no word to describe what a genius you are when it comes to music, rock on forever! Next thanks you guys for the lovely welcome to the site messages. 962 yours was the first I saw, I was jumping around the house going mad when I saw it, OK calm down I hear you say, what would I do if I got a mention from Joe...probably scream it around the town. Anyway you have to tell me what 962 means? Talking of which js1200js1000???? (go on, I know what your going to say "they're guitars stupid!" - just remember guys I Know nothing about guitars, only that they sound great with the right person playing them!!) CANADA Eh, wow another post I wont forget thanks mate. OK now you're driving me crazy MrimariSRV....Is this another language, boy I've got so much to learn but lets hope hope we will all journey together down Joe Satriani's road for a long time to come. Life journeys, hey you ZENFISH, (where did that come from? I was called Salmon the Pink in my youth) Have you been raiding my life, maybe we have all listened to the same stuff as we've grown up eh, that's why Joes stuff rocks our world.

Just a last mention to the other newcomers to the site, Bors, Special, Jetking and Bubikaj love you if you love JOE!

I hate to be a "cry-baby" but.... it really sucked not being able to see the G3 movie at Universal cinemas, It is difficult to arrange things so that the wife and i can have an evening out with each other, but when that evening includes Joe, we find a way!!!! It was a major let down to go without the movie, but we made the best of the night anyways..... Maybe the show could be rescheduled so that those of us that were cheated by (shit happens) can experience the show on a huge screen and sound system!!!

Peace to all, Eric

marimari: Lol, most of the exposure i had was with The Iron Horse which was a contemporary traditional band so i doubt anyone in the rock fraternity of Scotland has ever come across my name. Probably will be going to the Vai gig covered in dust, it will be a straight from work to the gig kinda deal, excuses for a day off are a no go, cant be helped, thanks for putting the name around darlin, every little helps

Clarky: I,ve often thought that strange about Al Di Meola, usually its the reverse, Orient Blue kinda nailed it for me, the use of dynamics with his picking really shows, just a beautiful combination of chord & solo note choice like McLaughlin & Paco.So what is it that turns me off Jazz Fusion i ask me ol self? i guess its putting intellect b4 what you feel in order to be different, refusing the bending of notes perfect with long vibrato & the lack of dynamics in the sound within a solo, which i found so un-prevalent in that field & probably why i cant escape SRV,Joe,YJM,SteveV,Gary Moore,,Jeff beck,Clapton,Jeff Healey,Gilmore,Carlton, Becks music, they stick the pain to me like glue, that amazing combining of great tone with dynamics, an amazing sense of note choice, bends with different vibrato & flawless technique.... bro it can only draw the listener in, its foolproof it seems, achieving that on the other hand, let alone compose,well.... its a mission but an amazing adventure

DCK: i didnt have any one album that made me feel that way, there were 3 things that sucked me into music, i was fucked in the head as a kid & looked to find a way out, discovered Big Bill Broonzy a transcription book i got from my ol man & old tuition tape,i was around 10 & later, Les Paul, he woke me up after watching a TV documentary on his life, but if there were 2 albums i always loved back then, it was Jimi Hendrix In the West " the Johnny be Good solo" & Pink Floyds Wish you were here

How To Find The Lowest Gasoline Prices

http://gasbuddy.com - With gas prices the way they are, we need all the help we can get. This site runs 170+ local websites across the U.S. and Canada that help consumers find area gas stations that are selling fuel at lower prices. A network of local volunteer gas price spotters submits updates for their specific area. The site also includes a link comparing our state's tax rate on gasoline compared to other states. It's interesting information.

Hi Joe Did the idea for G3 come from the Seville 92 gig? (I have to pick my jaw up from the floor every time I watch it - awesome!) any chance of more pictures of gigs/you/yourguitars/your fans whatever, that would be cool to have on the website!

Does anyone know if you can get an official copy of Seville 92 - my copy from the TV is getting seriously worn out and goes fuzzy in places now - I'd really love a new copy?

Secret Prayer.

Look my way cos I got to talk to you people, set the record straight! My heart is pounding, my stomach's inside out - all I ever think about is flying in a blue dream on a new day, into the light, the lights of heaven that are on stage with Joe - It would be one big rush to see Rubina and Brother John - I would ride, driving at night, down, down, down to Shalla-Bal to make the phone call at midnight from home as the clouds race across the sky, with champagne in my hand and sittin round, to tell you all of the time that I saw Joe Satriani .......Ah, got to hold on to my dreams cos its a love (of guitars) thing- You're my world.

Until we say good-bye.

Love and hugs Satriella xx

Zenfish ,

I think , for me , being my age (35 ) and probably one of the oldest in the music team at my church, when the young kids, I mean , 17- 25ish ask me to play lead for them in ther youth nites or just a jam , it kinda makes me feel cool, u know,? these kids are amazing in the way they play and when they ask me if i can jam with them its like ok no worries mate, cause we learn from each other, I think too , I know for me, my dream has always been to be like joe, to play like him, travel the world and play to 50 000 people or what ever, but it took me a while and I realized God's put me here for a reason, to help out these kids, even thru my own troubles and home life, to let others know that no matter what crap life churns out at us, music is the answer, it keeps us alive, keeps us going, now i dont care if i never sell one cd, or no one listens to my songs, no matter where i post them or what people are saying about it, if it goes on a dvd great, if not , next song please. Ill jam with any one, bass , horns, rappers , etc music is what comes from peoples heart , diffrent tatses of course, and playing with other people is what its about, sure i love making my own music and putting it out for the world to hear if they want to, but its when ur jaming with some one, even if they play better than u , who gives a flying ..*** its all about the music...
