joe is this true ? hope not bro ...
some guy sayde that on a forum ...
"I was teching for a group opening for Satch. man he was rude. watching him verbally attack stu hamm at sound check was uncomfortable. he has great ideas and knows how to build a song around a melody. I probably would have like him more having not met him"...
than some one made a question like this:
"wow really, did stu do anything to deserve it?"
the answer was ...
"at soundcheck stu improv'd the bassline on satch boogie and joe stopped everyone and told stu to play it right. stu just stayed quiet and did it. another friend of mine wanted a signature on an Ibanez (he owned a local music store) this was back in the dressing room. he hemmed and hawwed and played the guitar and finally said "if it doesnt play the way I want it to I wont sign it. also he said if he signed it they could sell it to some dumb kid who didnt know better. All of the guitars ever signed by stars have remained in his glass case at the shop. (not for sale). as the opening act he wouldnt even let us in OUR dressing room because it was back stage until he was on stage playing. so we called him booger presley (revenge of the nerds) because he looked like him. that's his new nickname. steve morse, alan holdsworth, eric johnson, helix, killer dwarfs, blue oyster cult all were absolutely cool though"
plizz say anything...
keep with the great job ;)
\m/
can't wait for the new cd :D

Dark Ripper: Theres always one that wants to pull a good soul down, so even if Joe said those things, who gives a crap, sometimes y get it right, sometimes not & by the way...when was the last time this guy on some forum went on an exhausting world tour?If i was in Joes shoes i probably would be keeping in line the players as well & wouldnt have signed the guitar, fair play to him, the rest is tour bull

Slans.....Right on Bro...... This doesn't sound like the Joe we all know, love and respect for his gift he gives to us in a plastic disc shape. Question....... Why would Stu try and change a bass line in the middle of a tour to a well documented Satch song? That sounds fishy. That doesn't sound like Stu either. I think it's all bullshit.

Checked your site out, very nice. Tried to sign the guest book and thought I had but when I tried to see what other cool folks had put, I couldn't get past page 1. Then again, anything more technical than a comb and I struggle! Hence shaved head!

I was going to put wierd Al but judging by your recent posts, wired Al may be more appropriate! As for my name, there are a few here who know my surname but you are going to have a little wait before finding out. Suffice it to say for now there is more than a little green in me.
Keep rocking all.

What does Yngwie think of Joe's playing?
Yngwie Malmsteen did a "blindfold" test for Guitar World in 1994 where he had to listen to an unidentified song and give his opinion of the guitar playing. The first song they played him was "The Mighty Turtle Head." Here's what Yngwie had to say:
MALMSTEEN: I like the groovy intro. Sounds like a Strat. But the soloing going over the song is very bad. It's bent out of shape and out of tune. It's very basic bull---- pentatonic runs. The choice of notes in the solo is completely overdone. That stuff has been done for 30 years! I'm sick and tired off that bending bull----. This is the most run-of-the-mill pentatonic playing I ever heard.
GUITAR WORLD: That was Joe Satriani.
MALMSTEEN: You're kidding! Was he high? He's playing out of tune, and the most boring runs! What I've heard from Satriani before was really good, but this -- this sounds like something someone would play in a garage. After the backwards solo, Joe does some nice stuff with out of phase pickups, which I liked. But the actual solo... I could never dream that was Joe. Out of tune, and terrible.
Too bad . . . I'll stick up for Joe over Yngwie anyday. I wonder if these comments ever came up between Yngwie and Joe later on. I doubt it.

sueann603, no, I can't say I've seen any posts from Andy Conte. That must have been a few years ago that he was posting here?
Delfino, sounds like you're going to be busy dude! But hey, at least you'll be busy doing stuff you're really enjoying! Yeah, please do post screens of your room, UT level and poster, I'd love to see 'em (if only to see that Delfino amp again!)
I am SO confused. Since Joe's post everyone has gone completely mad.
And how come, all of a sudden, everybody's digging up articles on things that Joe has supposedly done wrong? Newsflash: Joe is a person just like most of the rest of us....he's entitled to have the odd bad day here and there.

Capn Steve
yob = year of birth
x = number of times a week to drink
x+5 x 50 + 1755 or 1754 - yob = result
result is x followed by your age
x + 250 + 1755 - yob = result
x + this year - yob = result
this year - yob = your age
x followed by age = x followed by age
next year replace 250 with 251 or 1755 (or 1754) with 1756 (or 1755)
easy really ;-)
Cuth speaking of Sesame Street, I recently heard that cookie monster is now known as carrot monster. If it's true that's seriously f****d up, imho...

Okay, so I searched some past posts and saw that Yngwie's opinion about "The Mighty Turtle Head" has been mentioned here before . . . sorry.
Apparently Yngwie did another Guitar World blindfold test and had more favorable comments about "Sleepwalk." He said:
I've heard this song many times before. I don't know who's playing on this version, but the slide guitar playing is very good. The guitarist has great expression, and he's playing in tune.
That's more like it.

For the last time............
I said I was sorry! I did not mean anything offensive. I was asked what went on while he was away and I responded! I take no delight in being offensive, I hate it. And you said other youngsters. Cheese and Michelle said they were in their 40's. I have seen cubes site, so I know he was not young (no offense.) Would you please stop badgering me! I said I was sorry, and thats all I can do! Just leave me alone. Please.

Keniko/AussieRGman - Isn't it a Boss DS-1 that Joe uses? I recently upgraded from a Digitech RP-6 to seperate pedals and bought the DS-1. It's a great sounding pedal.
I was well chuffed when I saw a close up pic of Joes DS-1 setting in Guitar One (I think!) magazine. The sustain that I got at my next band rehearsal was great! (sorry for the rip off Joe!)
I'm still tempted to buy a whammy pedal but guess I'll have to ask Santa for that....

Joe, good to see ya again, and take heart...it's expected that you are human and not perfect....we shouldn't (and I don't) believe everything bad that people have to say about you or other stars. A lot of what is printed is just to make money and very far from the truth. We love ya Joe!! And it's raining here too, so cool!! Hope yer still enjoying that beautiful studio!! Later Joe!! :)
PS webmaster Jon.... The chat appears to be "broken"??? Is it just me and my computer, or is there something you might do to mend it? LOL!! Thanks Jon!!
