Hey satchers, long time, no type. Been busy working and stuff, not being able to afford any gear unfortunatly, unless of course I win the 32 million dollar lottery for this coming Saturday here in Canada, sheesh thats a load of money. Then I could buy my own house, studio and the whole 9 yards.

Joe I hope all is well, im looking forward to seeing G3 Live in Tokyo and a G3 tour next summer in North America, have you got any ideas as to who you want on the next tour? I think you should get Paul Gilbert to do it, if not him then Pat Methany or something. I know Pat is a jazz sort of cat but he sure has his chops in order on the guitar.

Heyyyyyy! Where did my last hello go?

I feel like a zenfish out of water, everyone knows everyone else and I am a new kid on the block.

Is there love in satchspace for a fan of guitar legends.

Im searching on a new day for friends of the extremist, who attacks, slow and easy the engines of creation with a seven string devil's slide.

am i the traveller going in circles on the journey singing a mountain song or am I sleepwalking on a starry night with a big bad moon up above and with only memories of seville 92 in my head? I believe I'm just in a mind storm with the crush of love in one big rush on a crushing day.

Ok the chords of my life are strange!?... maybe im not of this earth....maybe I'm cryin tears in the rain for all my searching of satch fans, if I could fly to you I would, then you could just look up with hands in the air and say there is the forgotten Satch fan......

Until we say goodbye that's what breaks a heart:(

Love and hugs Satriella xx

Satriella, welcome to the 'board. I gotta say, that last post of your was dead impressive......I would have got stuck after about "i'm gettin my Hill Groove on watching the Moroccan Sunset..."
I'm a bit p*ss*d off that the G3 DVD is only available through Sony.....that makes it pretty hard for anybody to get hold of it if they're not in the US.....I know, america's bloody fantastic and everything, but last time this happened the rest of the world couldn't pre-order our signed G3 stuff.....it's just sort of unfair :-(

962- That has pissed me off immensely too!

Going to see Dream Theater tonight WOO HOO... although there are a fair few peed off DT fans out there at the moment after the cancellation of the European Platinum packages (I didn't have one anyway, but can understand the frustration...)

It's European-ist!!!!

thanks for the belated happy birthdays guys....

cool...

Suzie - nothing has been decided about a Xmas pissup.. it was Yoda's idea... seemed like a good 'un...

we'll work something out.. and shout..

Yoda - your band is kicking... me likes.... it has elements of both classic and modern metal.. a nice blend...
I must come see you guys some time...

Space Time.. it's quite a blast ain't it.. lol..

I tried to do something a little different... get off of the Clarky beaten track a little... which is why I threw in that last section.. also I thought it made for a nice contrast to all the earlier blood and snot riffing.. lmao...

glad you like it bro.....

Zen - Artaud... genius??.. or insane???.. or simply misnuderstood??

a comment about the 'not shredders'
often their music, though less overtly 'impressive' is far more dificult to play... tricky fingerings.. progressions and melodies defined because "that is how it is supposed to go" and not because "that fits nicely under the fingers"

having stood on stage.. and played Larks Tongues part II [Crimson] I know how terrifying it is.. as you're playing through the set.. and the scary song is getting closer and closer.... it sounds great when you get it right.. but it's a serious handful to play... and having to count your ass off for 15 minutes... this track scares the shit out of me..
but the sense of satisfaction once it's been played well live is intoxicating...

SteveT - I have a T-shirt that says "instant asshole.. add beer"
Slansh - I prefer Al DiMiola on acoustics too... to me he seems more fluid that way.. more natural... more organic..
Mari - that is awesome news.... Steve was obviously impressed with your sup4erb work... fingers and toes crossed....

Stevee T: Thanks, it's been an incredible adventure!! Looking forward to seeing you and Ronnie @ YJM in NYC. No other shows planned, maybe Black Crows at the Beacon for New years Eve........we'll see.

Steve Morse for G3: Hello & Welcome! I agree that he should be on the next G3 if he can get time away from DP. They've a hectic tour schedule. I've seen Steve many times and the honor to meet him as well. Incredible musician & human being.

Satriella: Hello & Welcome! Loved your last post. I am The Traveler on The Journey of my life, a most incredible Journey indeed. Be patient, sometimes it's a bit slow here for replies.

Bro al: I'll be in Holland till Sat, sorry. Have fun at Evo!! Say Hello to Steve for me. ;-D You'll be fine when you meet him. Just think before what you would like to ask him so you are not so taken aback when the time arrives.

Clarky: Thanks so much!! ;o) I'll be arriving home sat nite I will try to listen to it. Wish I had some way of taping it because I will probably fall asleep.....it will be 4am for me though, bummer. Congrats to you though!!

JOHNNY B. BACK ON THE LOOP

Brandmeier Morning Show to return to Chicago on WLUP-FM

Jonathon Brandmeier is returning to the station and show he is synonymous with, Mornings on The Loop (WLUP 97.9FM). “Johnny B.” was previously heard on WLUP from 1983-1997.

Brandmeier has received multiple awards, including Radio’s highest honor; the Marconi Award for Major Market Air Personality of the Year from the National Association of Broadcasters. He is also the recipient of several Billboard Magazine Radio Personality Awards and was named one of Talker Magazine’s “100 Most Important Radio Hosts in America”. Locally he was consistently voted as a favorite in numerous reader polls.

WLUP Vice-President/General Manager Marv Nyren commented, “When Emmis assumed ownership of WLUP late last year, job one was to recruit a morning show that would return The Loop to prominence. After considering well over 500 personalities from across the country, we went the route Loop listeners led us to in the first place and brought Johnny B. back.

WLUP Program Director Tim Dukes added, “The Loop” hasn’t been “The Loop” since Johnny left. He is the single most important Chicago air personality in the last 20 years and we’re ecstatic to have him back home again.”

Brandmeier will make his return within 2 weeks on The Loop, with a newly assembled morning team, and be heard Monday through Friday 6a-10a. A follow-up release will be sent once an exact start date has been determined.

REO Speedwagon News

Frontman Kevin Cronin has revealed that his band's long-awaited studio album, The Brotherhood, tentatively will be released in June 2006. "I know that I have the potential to become the Axl Rose of classic rock," Cronin declares, "and drag out our recording process for years and years, in search of some unattainable perfection." Meanwhile, Speedwagon have only two more shows scheduled this year -- a Dec. 30-31 engagement in Agoura Hills, Calif.

Ronnie James Dio says he and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi likely will work together again soon.

"At this particular point . . . Iommi and I are [planning] to write a couple of tracks together for a project that I think is called Black Sabbath -– The Dio Years," the singer announced during a recent British radio interview. Dio served as Sabbath's frontman on three studio albums released during the 1980s and '90s.

Poison Guitarist Gets 80 Days in Jail

LOS ANGELES - Poison guitarist C.C. DeVille was sentenced to 80 days in jail after pleading no contest to driving while intoxicated.

DeVille, whose given name is Bruce Johannesson, was also sentenced to five years probation, fined $1,000 and ordered to surrender his license for a year, city prosecutors said Monday.

The 43-year-old rocker known for his over-the-top antics hit a parked vehicle Aug. 24 while he was backing out of the driveway of his girlfriend's home, prosecutors said. He allegedly rammed another parked car, deploying his vehicle's air bags and injuring his girlfriend.

He pleaded no contest Friday to a charge of driving under the influence causing injury, authorities said.

Zen - have you ever heard an album called "Amused to Death" by Roger Walters??

I think you'll find it interesting... especially the lyrical content and subject material...

I'm looking forward greatly to hearing your track...

I think I forgot to point out...

the music being played on the radio is not me...
at least it's not my own music..

It's David Cross [although I'm playing all the guitars..]
