hey guys, this might be the answer, for us guitarists who like to record there amps at 10 , portable sound bootth if u do something like that, what sort of mic would be good to use ? sure 57 i think is one I know of , any others? cause I realize now , that the sound of the amp is different thru the speakers than going from the send returns or line out, and I wanna get the reall warmth sound that i get thru the speakers...

I'm learning all of Joe's songs in the "best of Joe Satriani" book. The legato lick at the start is really tiring :(

I mastered it though.

Delfino Pie...cool room...is it actually a rendition of your room? What surprises are around the corner, maybe some fine young damsel...lol

Danny K...good luck with the gig...never know who's listening, and watching...?

Clarky...I listened to every one of your songs on your new page...is the 1st one from your new album..."Space Time & Curvature Exotic"? Sounded great...lots of attention to detail, and obvious endless hours & years of practice...wide palette of moods...as is evident on all your work....excellent!

962...there's some great used Eventide stuff on the web at semi affordable prices...

fizz450_03 strats don't use a resistor for their tone controls, apart from the pots themselves.... do you mean capacitors?

Joe: uhh well I dont really know what to say. I want to start with the song I Believe. That song has got so many feelings in it and its only one song. I think that song is so perfect. That songs makes me think about 3 different things at once. They are all good things too. I just want to say thank you so much for that song. It is very beautiful.

Cloudnight

Humans, Gods, Earth & Heaven Have done their time under the sky On this good old hell built With our own hands Residual pornography Of eternity

Where are our rests, Now the rest is used up

Just few bones?

Down there’s still us both

We are gonna to die darling I love this curse The cold mirror of sweat Which is eating us

Some children run in the dawn

There’s a church On a uncultivated field Probably Haunted Dust of Coronations & Curses

The Ivry on the names.

why do i feel the way i do,like i do a lot latley im so oooo tired of my mum n dad, going over early mornings all day, looking after her, I feel like crap when i think like this. I know her probs arnt her fault, and i take the weight of the world on my shoulders and feel like i do more than my share, family bitching about her birthday and the way my dads organizing it, Im caught in the middle of it. Sitting by the local river , listening to joe on the cd in car, thinking of what it must be like to be a fish, drive into the water and not drive out, but who would look after mum, & dad , who would they have to bitchn moan to every time i stuff up, or dont get there in time or get the wrong shopping for dad and he yells at me and i tell him they didnt have the brand that he likes. And I fall for a woman of the world ,but she's already married, second time thats happend to me, man i just feel like S****** might pick up the old guitar and play some blues..

aussieRGman, yeah the Sure SM57 has been an industry standard for decades. Definitely worth using one (or maybe two for stereo) for recording if you have the facilities. Monitoring with headphones will sort out most of the problem with recording with a mic.

Also, I just saw your more recent post......what can I say dude. I just wish I could help you out. You know, I don't think it's so wrong that you sometimes feel so tired of looking after your folks. I know it's easy to feel bad for perhaps resenting it/them, but it's not so wrong I don't think - I think it's normal that you should feel annoyed that you are sacrificing most of your own life and they're not acknowldeging it.

I don't think you'd find the fish in the river much fun though mate....I had a fish once and he was pretty boring. They can't play guitars anyway. I think playing some blues is a much better idea!

Delfino, nice one dude, that looks spot-on!
Stevee T, yeah I might start looking at effects in about a year.....First thing next year will be to get some decent active monitors. But some rack effects would be nice for recording - I quite like Lexicon's stuff and I'm sure I could have fun with an H3000 or something! hehe
