Zen...... That's interesting info on Maxon. Like I said I love my TS-808. I wouldn't leave home without it. I was sent Exilir strings in the mail when they hit the market. I didn't like them. They felt different.....coated.....They didn't feel like strings. I guess I'm old fashion. I stayed with the D'addario's.

Clarky - I wish I did!!! All I remember is that a mate's step dad said he'd give me lessons, and in the first lesson he showed me A, E, and D major chords. I think I was about fifteen. Straight away I went out and bought a book and taught myself until I went to ACM (apart from one or two lessons with a dude called Mike Hutchinson who lived a shrot train ride away from me). The first song I learned how to play was 'Colours' by Donovan. To this day, I've never heard a recording of that song... lol

Clarky: Happy G-B-day! My first tune with a guitar was at my big brothers room with his white Fender Strato on one misty late-summer morning...(I must have been 11 or 12 yrs at that time, so it was summer '79 or '80)...anyways he taught me E... and then Em...and then Am...and A...then I looked out of the window and saw my friends who were waving like:"come out and play!", but I was so excited that I didn't go before I had learned D too...and then G...and C......then he taught this what we at least here in Finland call "barre" (you probably dig that.....or don't)...anyway all this led to a grope for AC/DC's "Down Payment Blues" (from the outstanding album "Powerage"...at which I was just beginning to reach)...oh maaaan, I was excited!!!

...Then I began to play icehockey and got so excited about it that guitarplaying was very much off...

...but then I discovered the drums......well, that'll be another story, EH!!!

...Had to put AC/DC's "Powerage" (-78) on...This also makes a man to smile!

...or is it this Argentinian redwine? ..."Let there be "Malbec"-grapes!" (they grow only in Argentina; excellent juice they produce of it!!!)

It's weekend (9:25 pm here) and I'm really beginning to relax! Edit: translation; getting a bit drunk.

Zen...... I think aussie asked me about the Boss BD-2. I never had or heard that pedal. I had a original Big Muff but like a idiot I lost it. As a matter of fact I had the Big Muff before the TS-808. The Big Muff was my first distortion pedal. The original sounded awesome. I don't know what the reissues sound like but I'm sure the design is close to the original or....why bother.

Zen:Elixir dont get tone bro, they last 3 times as long but best with new Martins if you record, if however you just want the string to last, Elixir is the mark.I,ve yet to come across a sting that holds its tone for longer than 1 day played constantly & still sound good.Strings are a bit...frustrating....just as you get that sound you want to hang onto its gone.One day guitars will have lazer beams of light from the nut to the bridge & that lil prob will be history

So good to see you post on here. We all LOVE your work and we all appreciate your whole crew cos without them, we wouldn't get this site, see you in concert (not that I have yet, but I'm workin on it), or have your fantastic albums to listen to, so thank them all (i'm sure you will cos I hear your a nice guy!). Very much appreciation to you, for taking an interest in at least one or two of your fans, imagine if Jimmi H had written a note to you!!!! Mybe when you are old you will get the time to see all the wonderful messages for you on here, it's just a shame some of them go to waste, ah well that's the life of a fan I guess.

cheese101 - would luv 2 see a photo of you in fancy dress, sounds great fun. I love going to work in fancy dress myself, just may go as a satch fan myself this year. (So far I've been Marge Simpson, a computer, a barbie doll and cinderella)

MariMariSRV - B4 I lost the internet I had a chance to look at the photo gallery, there are lots of great pictures but I thought yours were the greatest, I used one as a wallpaper (hope you don't mind!) - I have to say if I was the jealous type I'd be jealous of you - but I'm not the jealous type, so I just glad so many satch fans have had the chance to be so close to Joe. With regards to favourite Joe songs, that is just an IMPOSSIBLE TASK, there is no way on earth I could pick one, every time I hear every track I think, "Oh, Now I love this one (next track) Oh, but this is great, (next Track) Oh, yeah but this is fantastic and so on until I've come to the end of all albums! Don't You? (OK I know you said The traveller was your favourite)

Joe: How are you on this beautiful day? Is there snow in Vancuver? I hope so. Cause that means that it will come to my town. Oh yeah. It snowed on the mountain like a foot and a half or so. I am getting very excited cause that is almost enough to snowboard. Are you going to do much snowboarding this winter? Yeah one of my friends said that her friend met you on time and said that you were mean and cared about nothing but your self, I have not met you yet and I know for a fact that you are not like that.
