Thank you Captain, accept I am not sure what you meant by cum lately. I did not want anyone to get offensive or look at me as some kind of moron but everything I said should be taken with a grain of salt. Nothing is wrong with JD, long hair, etc I was simply pointing out a characteristic of Joe that I feel is admirable. If given the chance anyone would want to rock like Joe or Vai and yes he did have long hair and for that matter so does yanni. I am simply captivated by the persona he seems to portray on stage, etc. and feel it is very unique. Artists (while obviously not as talented and mainly rock based) have had a certain look over the years. I am sure we can all name many who didn't but I don't think I am wrong in saying JD, long hair, tatoos, black eyeliner, nail polish, cape like over coats, whatever seem to fit the rock cliche.(Dime Bag) The fact that Joe does take on the "aien, or not of this earth" persona is very unique and original. From my personal religious position I appreciate that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion as most of us are on this board to put their opinions out there and saying I am foolish or ignorant would defeat the purpose of Joe even having a sponsored cite for the public to communicate through. I would also like to say this..Joe has a very exclusive audience. He is not underground per say but people who are very into his music are usually people who know true skill and art. I like the fact that unlike many artists who dress up and basically wear a costume on stage in an effort to attract or shock people Joe doesnt. I could see him wearing any of the outfits I have ever seen him in live in his everyday life (at home etc) He could easily go into any grocery store and blend in and may not be seen as a "rocker" This however, is not true of Vai. Could you honestly see him walking into a Kroger with his eyeliner, black outfits, long hair, etc and not be labled a rocker? That is all I was trying to point out and perhaps my religious bias (I admit it is a bias) may be the factor that made me even notice this. I, as said before, worded things wrong and I will once again genuinely apologize to anyone I offended and would like to move on without everyone jumping all over what I wrote.

Johnny, no need to apologize. Your opinion is your opinion, I was just curious to how the wheels turn. No worries.
p.s. - Just out of curiosity, how old are you? How long have you liked Joe's music?

Satriella: Nice to hear from you Sandra. I know what you are going through........it's been a bitch for me since before my tour and ever since I got back. I was brought to tears twice before my trip and almost again after. I was told how I shoulda been more organized to do the work of 2 people........I know I need to be more organized, I'm just too nice to people at work and it bites me in the ass. That's why on My Time I have no patience for rudeness, at work I suck it up. Hang in there girlie, we are gonna come out on top!! I know what you mean about JOe's music......he affects me the same way, so does VAI. Some days it just touches my soul on a deeper level, other days it makes my spirit soar! I don't understand it, however......
"I believe in the power of Music". Nuff said. ;-)
Slanshroom: No problem Roy....I understand. Bad sound can be torture to the ears...especially if they know quality tone/sound like yourself, an amazing professional musician. Too bad you couldn't hear Eric, he's incredible...... Really nice guy too! Would you like me to send you a few photos? see my post t Ronnie below......
Honeydripr: Yes, Frank Marino has been touting for the last few years after a long Hiatus. Check out his website www.frankmarino.com I believe. My friends Carol & Ray (good friends of FM) just gave me an autographed photo since I missed his show here while I was on tour.
He's a great musician, glad you still remember him. Welcome to T2J!!
FABLawyerofSBM: LMAO Ronnie! You and Roy are just too funny!! I'd just love to hang out with the 2 of you someday...that would be very cool indeed! I'd probably need an interpreter since I wouldn't understand a word either of y said.....LOL ..Roy come to the states!! hahaa!
badhuh: Hello there! I'm home and having a go of things........I will try to call Steven this weekend. I'll keep you posted Mark. I hope all's well with you and the family. God Bless.
Suzie2000: Glad you are feeling better Suz. Tell Matt , Dave & Mr Humphries I said hello!!
Take it easy at work, OK? Talk to you soon.... Miss you guys! I'm back down to the weight I was when I returned home.....lost about 7lbs. I haven't felt well and haven't been eating much. I've got another 20 lbs to go but I will do that through healthy eating and exercise.
Marie-Noelle: Have a safe flight home Maria. I hope you had a wonderful visit, maybe you met up with Clarky? Hope so..... They are in Las Vegas right now so take your time...I'm sure they will buy a few pieces. I may buy 1 or 2 more myself. They are really BEAUTIFUL! Sounds like a plan girlie....... LOL
Ovation: I will tell JBlaze congrats for everyone, I did so the other night and will do so again. I may just go down for his graduation.....my parents are bugging me to come down and if no one else is off at that time I can. My parents live about 2 hrs away, and this way I can see Chris Peters "OCPS470" too! That would be very cool indeed. Flights are so cheap to FLA as long as it's not "Spring Break"...damn rich kids....LOL! Oh, BTW.......... I'll 2nd the "AMEN" !!
Ok...Now this is my #5 ...I've posted this freakin message 5X!
and it was too long.........WTF....not by much, It was my end post that killed me for the most part....thank God Shel taught me about copy & paste........lmao!

The 'cum lately' was just a gentle piss take, a Johnny cum lately is a new kid in town (shit, sounds like the eagles!) your name, few posts, work it out.
I'm afraid I disagree with the clothing remarks, IMHO much of what artistes wear on stage is all about entertainment and appealing to the audience.
A discerning audience apreciates experimentation and the exploration of new direction/ideas just as much as technical ability.
Recently someone posted that Vai was trying to outdo his mentor, to me that is to be expected. How else can a pupil gauge his worth? However, a pupil can only test himself against what he has been taught, if the teacher is constantly evolving the pupil will remain exactly that, a pupil.
Joe Satriani, you are an original!
Keep rocking all.
Steve.

Chat Stat!!
I deleted my last message......but this is the same.......
I am done with the Chat.....I'm tired of rude behavior. Grow up.
Good Bye.
JOe, I will talk to you when I see you......Hopefully soon!
I have a CD Burner but I do NOT burn CD's....I buy them.....
I try my best to support the artists. I love knowing that I am giving back to them just a lilttle of what they've given to me. I try to make a difference........I've always loved having the Album and the Cover/Jacket to check out. That was almost as good as the Music..............depending on the group. Keep up the good work, I wil continue to support YOU and all the other artists that I can. God Bless you.
All My Best,
Mari

JOHNNYVOLUME...Dude ,,as a FELLOW BELIEVER IN A HIGHER POWER I CHOOSE TO CALL GOD,,I can see your point to a certain extent,,however,,,& trust me,,NOT JUDGING YOU,,(boy thats a first for me),,BUT,If you own a few of STEVE's albums & YOU dont think THEY are PROPER..THEN WHY DONT YOU BURN THEM!!??
Music is a PERSONAL choice..CHRISTIAN,,PAGEN..ETC..I saw an interwiew w/ JOE & STEEVE on a cable channel..JOE not only was amazed at how much STEEVE was soo egar to learn AS STEEVE was JOE wanting to teach,,at one point JOE said..DAMN..I NEED TO COME UP W/NEW THINGS..THIS GUY IS GOOD!!
Yet they jammed for HOURS together & enjoyed each others talents. They both have seperate styles as anyone can see,,,STEVE,,God ,,he played with ..(AT A YOUNG AGE.).one of THE MOST TALENTED guys in the bussiness,,however as weird Frank was,,he was a GENIUS.
STEEVE's clothes,,well...Its his choice,,just like the music WE CHOOSE to listen to,,WEIERD?? YES AT TIMES,,BUT,,keep in mind he is a genius,,like JOE & others..JOE is layed back...yet can BOLT out some of THE BEST LICKS AROUND..STEEVE is very dramatic,,yet soo passionate at times.,,but can do the same.
If you go see them play together,,You will see them do the "HARRIGATU BOW"..meaning RESPECT for each other..JOE loves to play with STEEVE,& STEEVE loves to play with JOE...DUDE,,try to open your mind abit,,they are different!!
On a softer note,,if you choose to listen to CHRISTAIN guitarists,,check out MARC SEAL...he's a great guitarest that plays at a local church here in my town,,yet has studied JOES & STEEVES music,,MATT BISSONETTE,,,(JOES BASS PLAYER) has played a few gigs w/him at THE COACH HOUSE here in town,,,CALM DOWN,,enjoy the music & let GOD guide your life,,you will know when its not right.
CAPT STEEVE,,WELL PUT
TWINS ARE DOIN WELL IN THE OVEN,,

Michelle I am 24 and as I said I have liked his music since I was five or six. As far as why I own some of Vai's cd's well...I am not so religious that I will refute a musicians work because I dont necessarily like his physical image. I have seen Joe three times live and perhaps another reason I am biased against vai is because every time I saw them play together vai did seem to have an urge to outplay joe. Also, my father and I have no personal relationship and that has caused me alot of pain in my life. I can honestly say that besides the Red Wings and George Foreman Joe is one of the only things that we use as a bonding thing. I payed for the tickets every time and took my dad to see him. The concerts we went to together (and 7 red wing games) are the only thing me and my father have ever done together. Joe means more to me than just a musician, he bonded my father and I. It sounds pathetic I know but it is the truth.

Dakook, thank you for not making me feel like I have an acid mouth. I was scared that I was no longer welcome here and it did hurt a little, after reading your post I feel much better. To change the subject a little here is an idea I thought of in school today...has anyone ever heard of the band 311? ok Chad Sexton percusionist (one of the best), Les Claypool, Joe, and maybe Dino formerly of Fear Factory in a project band....yes, styles can clash but imagine the possibilities! or maybe you could replace eddie with the singer from Type O Negative

Gotta learn to sing Mari - and pretend you are a pop star lol
For me, it only works on Asians - which is rather fortunate because thats all I really care about. Canadians rank highly too though.
I'm really looking for the set meal choice though - not flavor of the day. I'm getting too tired for that. see - 10:15pm - bedtime.
