Keniko - I need to think about your question a little
I suspect we have a case of "the tail wagging the dog"...
so I need to consider my reply...

if you could offer a little more detail that'd help...
although I think I roughly see what you're getting at...

CIA says Castro has Parkinson's disease

Reuters WASHINGTON - The CIA has concluded that Cuban President Fidel Castro suffers from Parkinson's disease and could have difficulty coping with the duties of office as his condition worsens, an official said on Wednesday The assessment, completed in recent months, suggests the nonfatal but debilitating disease has progressed far enough to warrant questions among U.S. policymakers about the communist country's future in the next several years.

Clarky..... I see what you mean. Let me put it this way. Say you're working in a minor key like Amin. Is there a standard chord sequence that works for the key of Amin? Like if you were writing a blues progression in A from the harmonized scale....The chords would be A7...D7...E7 or 1,4,5. Or a Jazz progression in A....The chords would be....BMaj....E7.....Amin....or a 2,5,1 progression. I have not harmonized the Amin. scale to know what the chords are for each root note of the Amin. scale. How do you know or find the strong chords that work in the key of Amin. to write a good chord progression? This is really hard to explain. I most likely confused you more.

962: I have an Air Norton in the Neck actually. That's what JP used to have in his IBZ guitars. I think it has about 275 mv of output? Generally you don't want to put a lower output PU in the bridge compared to higher output PU in the neck. I have an AirZone in the brige...I think it's about 325 mv output? When I emailed Dimarzio a while back, they told me that the AirNorton can be a cool bridge Pu, but to match ot with an AirClassic pu, which is in the 220mv range I think. Hope that helps. BTW, unless they've changed things, you should still be able to call Dimarzio and ask them if your set up would be a problem. Also, you can check the exact outputs on the Dimarzio website. Hope this helps!

962: I forgot to tell you that I have a Virtual2 middle in the middle. The Virtual 2's are the virtual vintage line that have something like 50% less string pull, so the string sustains longer and purer. This is the same quality that all of the "Air" line of pickups posess. I think the AirNorton would be pretty cool in the Bridge though. It's supposed to have the qualities of the Norton, just with reduced string pull and a less compressed or over driven tone due to the reduced output. If I remember correctly, the Norton (which the Air Norton is derrived from) is supposed to have some of the warm fat qualities of the Tone Zone, blended with some of the cutting harmonic content of the FRED.

962 - have to keep you busy in here, can't have you lurking - what does lol mean on here? I always thought it was "lots of love" my son says "lots of laughs""laugh out loud" aggghhh you could go on forever with this.

Zenfish - Man of mystery - Composing blues differently, hmmmm, I'd tried years ago to understand music, didn't work - it's all ancient greek to me - Happy blues? Blues with a hint of green? Bloooze? See - I just don't understand - that's why I'm not a musician just a fan!

OCPS470, thanks for your response dude. Yeah, I wondered if I'd mis-remembered the detail of which position you'd put that pickup in! When I was looking at it I noticed how low the ouput was......I think I'll go with a Norton in the bridge then, 'cause I just gotta get that PAF Joe in the neck position. I've been reading the description and tech talk for it and it sounds like a great pickup.....the DiMarzio site is so nicely put together, it tells you everything it can in an easy-to-understand format!

I might try a Virtual 2 in the middle position on mine then, sounds like a good setup. Also, I might try it in my Strat with a Virtual Vintage or Chopper or something in the bridge. The Fender fat 50's that I put in there have real String Pull problems.

Yeah, the Norton is a reverse-tone-curve kinda thing so it's got some nice tones. It does indeed have the fatness, but it also has loads of great harmonics, and it seems especially suited to a mahogony-bodied guitar.

Thanks again for your input :-)

Satriella/js1200js1000, hehe, thanks guys, for your kind comments about me! Yeah I like to try and help if I can!

Chad, I started writing a Webshots tutorial in this post but it got quite lengthy, so I've e-mailed it to you instead!

Sandra, "lol" means "Laugh Out Loud". "LMAO" means "Laughing My Ass Off" and "ROFLMAO" is the same but with "Rolling On Floor" on the beginning! hehe

hey joe , my boyfriend is a major fanatic of yours i of course love your music too. I want to give him a present he will never forget and that is too see you live , i was wondering if you will be playing in Scotland anytime soon in the future or at least considering it , it may not seem like there is alot of fans but i did a survey in my college and it turns out that 92% out of everyone i asked adore you and your music. My favourite song is Rubina , i of course love everything else but the way that is played is magnificant, makes me melt lol.I was named after the Marillion song Kayleigh and i thought that was special but i guess i was wrong. Have you got any tips on how to play it slightly better than i already am without giving away everything , just so i dont annoy you by playing it.thank you for your time and i hope to hear from you soon.baby k xx
