Hi

have you seen Paul Gilbert's DVD Space Ship Live?

How about doing your own version of a live in the studio song presentation? It's a brilliant way of showcasing songs in an intimate setting and would sure please guitarists with lots of close ups of the flying fingers.

Beno

PS still waiting for a region 2 version of the Tokyo DVD. Any news on when the rest of the world will be able to buy it?

Dolphin pie

Just had a look at your prom pix through the linky.

Couldn't help but notice that there were a couple of pix of a rather fine looking scantily clad hottie but most were of young men with their arms round each other. I guess you had a gay old time. LOL I bet Gaylord Moon wishes he had been there! LMAO

Just kidding!

Rock on.

Steve.

Rowashburn yeah, repeating the same post over and over is generally frowned upon, and ignored too... many of us ask Joe questions but only a few get replies... sad but true... he's a busy man after all! ;-) Maybe you could try and check out some recent videos (the G3 DVD for example)... you might see when and where he switches in the DS1 while using the JSX amps... when he used Marshalls they were set on clean-only - all the dirt came from the DS1... not sure if either of the two DS1s on the recent pedalboard pic is modded though... good luck!

Hi all,

Clarky - Ah that's better I hear you again while I post - Thank you for posting your site again and for your rock!

js1200js1000 - Join the club - COMPUTERS EH!!!!!

Blue Moon - Ah sunsets/sunrises my favourite - nice pictures although it seemed a little strange looking at pictures of a sunrise from a Blue Moon?!

Surely music is interpretted differently by everyone cos we are all unique, there is not another one of us anywhere in the world. None of us are Joe so we can't hear the music exactly as he (or anyone else that makes music) had in his head when he was composing it. That is why to some this kinda stuff is a noise and a racket and to others it is sweet nectar. So after listening to a piece of music, one might say, this is a bee buzzing around collecting pollen and to someone else it's saying, this is a woman who has lost a child in the marketplace and is frantic about it! We have to live and let live on personal choices in music. it's always gonna affect every person differently which is why you can't really say that a particular tune is evil cos it made someone do something bad, it's a defect in the person not in the music. Do you get what I'm saying? not good at explaining things.

Good to have you back on the board 962.

Hugs Satriella xx

Satriella..... I definetly get what you're saying. You explained this prefectly.

Stevee T...... No CD yet....Sniff, Sniff. Let the Sinphony begin.

Clarky..... I posted to you about progressions for the modes. I was thinkin' I could harmonize the modal scale I wanted to work in for my chords. My question is ....How do you know what chords dominate a certain harmonized scale for a modal progression?... Blues...1,4,5..... Jazz...2,5,1... etc... Any help would be great. Thanks. Take care.

Joe.... Perhaps you could answer this question. Take care. Hope the recording is going well. Hugs to you and the family, band and crew.

js1200js1000, Blue Moon's post was a prime example of putting the photo on a physically different bit of web space, and linking directly to the address where that photo is stored.

If you think there's a chance you'll be wanting to share pictures and photos on a semi-regular basis, ie. if you think this is not just a one-off, then I can highly recommend signing up to a photo-hosting community like "webshots".

Here's a link to my webshots space - http://community.webshots.com/user/962_lm

At the top of that page you'll see tags for "download webshots - free" and "free sign up". I suggest signing up first then downloading the software. The software will help you process photos and upload them to the webspace, adding captions and archiving them in different albums. It will also work as a screensaver manager as well as a browser in which you can search the webshots community library for specific photos.

if you decide to do that, just shout and I and probably many others will be happy to explain how linking works on this board!

Delfino, oooh, nice work dude. I love how you've put the JS site on the monitor, that's a real touch of class bro!
OCPS470, did you tell me ages ago that it's an Air Norton that you have in the bridge position of your S470? What have you got it paired with in the neck (and middle) positions?

When my S470 arrives I intend to put a PAF Joe in the neck, and can't decide whether to put a Norton or Air Norton in the bridge. I'm wondering if the output of the "Air" variety will be too quiet....you know, too close to the output of the PAF Joe, or do you think it's a blend that can be managed nicely just by adjusting pickup height? Any input would be appreciated, since your description of the Air Norton's tonal characteristics makes it very tempting!

so I need to consider my reply...

if you could offer a little more detail that'd help...
although I think I roughly see what you're getting at...

CIA says Castro has Parkinson's disease

Reuters WASHINGTON - The CIA has concluded that Cuban President Fidel Castro suffers from Parkinson's disease and could have difficulty coping with the duties of office as his condition worsens, an official said on Wednesday The assessment, completed in recent months, suggests the nonfatal but debilitating disease has progressed far enough to warrant questions among U.S. policymakers about the communist country's future in the next several years.

Clarky..... I see what you mean. Let me put it this way. Say you're working in a minor key like Amin. Is there a standard chord sequence that works for the key of Amin? Like if you were writing a blues progression in A from the harmonized scale....The chords would be A7...D7...E7 or 1,4,5. Or a Jazz progression in A....The chords would be....BMaj....E7.....Amin....or a 2,5,1 progression. I have not harmonized the Amin. scale to know what the chords are for each root note of the Amin. scale. How do you know or find the strong chords that work in the key of Amin. to write a good chord progression? This is really hard to explain. I most likely confused you more.
