...Gotta Have Joe, it's really me, here in Vancouver, recording and posting when time allows...Zinc Master, we are on top of this, but it really sucks...I don't know how this can ever be resolved... If labels and artists feel their investment of time, money, art and talent will always be taken from them without compensation then they will simply stop producing...If consumers continue to feel overcharged, and put out by changing formats, then they will keep taking music without paying fo it... For now we drift somewhere in the middle, but it's hurting young musicians the most... Joe

Hiya Joe...gotta say, I believe strongly in supporting the artist by buying their material from licensed vendors. I have friends ask me all the time if they can make copies of my cd's and I don't allow it. I tell them to please buy their own so the artist will hopefully keep putting out new material.

Good to see you posting again Joe...always a pleasure. :)

Alexandre ....and its nice to be back bro', life is busy but the call of the 'online family' keeps bringing me back :-) How are things with you?

Anybody want to know where you can pick up new vintage FIABD tour (1990) t shirts for $42 ?

JOE Great to see you in here more regularly. How did you find having kids effected your playing / practise schedule?

This is Chris, just letting people know what I'm up to if anyone cares, working on 4 songs I am writing for my senior project, that I am very happy with so far. Have a good day everyone in satchland.

Hey Joe, when you're composing on the guitar, do you sit down and write everything down, or do you record yourself, or do you just remember everything? Thanks for everything Joe, You are the greatest, see ya on tour next spring. thanks, chris

Joe...it's so common place for someone to borrow a CD & copy it...then their friends copy it, and so on...certainly not fair to the artist...when they're trying to survive, and make more music as a way of living...Greg Howe didn't even have a copy of the Jordan Rudess CD you both worked on so instead of giving him mine to copy...I gave him mine to keep...crazy I know, but true!

guitarmeister2005...looks like a nice bunch o'gear ya got there...when can we hear your tunes?

Speaking of copying music for free...you're all free to download mine if you want to...Remix - Chromeboy And The Lava Lamp

Harvest Ice another new song using the Chromeboy...hope you enjoy it...

Rowashburn: I got pretty solid distortion out of the ds1 into a totally clean fender wich has 6L6 power tubes.....it's my understanding that the Marshall 6100 uses 5881 tubes (6L6 variant) as opposed to the EL34's that most Marshalls use. I think this makes a big difference. When I run the DS1 into my JSX's clean channel (EL34's in amp) it seems to have less distortion and sustain than it does through 6L6 amps. Maybe that's it. Also, if you check out Joe's behind the scenes gear section of the LISF dvd, when he strums the Chromeboy through the clean channel of the 6100, it seems to have some drive already.....maybe that's why the ds1 seems so solid through that amp. Maybe his clean is only clean through that amp because he backs way off on his picking attack etc..... I've got some clips of the JSX versus the DS1 and other dist pedals through a clean amp...click on my name and email me, and I'll send you the links. PS, maybe Joe just has the DS1 on his pedal board for the same reason I do.....because he already owns it, and figures he may be able to use it for something in the future haah! As far as i know though, he's getting all of his traditional distrtion tones from the JSX alone (I'm not counting the Fulltone Ultimate octave or other fuzzboxes etc etc). I hope this helps.

Cheese - Chris' room looks pretty clean to me.

Joe Satriani - I understand the dilema that you as an established artist is in. It would seem that the record companies, instead of trying to strong arm people, would find some why to use the situation caused by the internet to their advantage. There has to be some kind of marketing value to all this, especially for the smaller artists. Having said that, I don't have a clue what the value would be. I am no business mind, just almost a Civil Engineer. There are quite a few unknowns that I have in my collection only because of the internet. File sharing and burning of CD's will not stop. It just seems that the industry would be better seved working WITH the people that are paying the bills.

That is one of the problems. New and young musicans float around and never get the full credit due to them!
Im trying to get things going for a few artist around my area and if you don't fit the mold the music industy set you can't even get radio play! I check out most of the people here on the site and I am just amazed that thay are not signed to a lable and geting hear all over the world. Now that sucks!

joeclone1...I have a JS2 PRM...great, great guitar plays very, very sweet...and sounds even sweeter...looks stunning...treat the finish with respect...it will scratch, so don't be surprised when it does...play the hell out of it!!!

...Chromeboy Pics In Photo Section The JS10Th is heavier, and the finish is lighter in color....JS 2PRM is darker, and has an extra phase switch for added tonal options...you should be able to clearly see the color difference...

Joe how long are you tied to Sony? Are you tied to them? Is there any reason why you're not with Stevie's FN? Or even on your own label?

Did you manage to check out the secret link that I sent to Jon Luini for the second T2J CD? What did you think?

Hope the recording's coming along nicely... I bet it's cold there? Here it's supposed to go to 36 degrees tonight.. it's getting cooler! Finally! :-)

Have a great weekend!

Hello Joe. The last time G3 visited Malaysia was in 2000. At the Bukit Jalil Stadium if I'm not mistaken. I did not play guitars then, so I actually did miss the chance to see you guys on stage. I was thinking, would you or even G3 organise a tour in Malaysia anytime in the near future? Say 1 or 2 years time? Thanks very much Joe, I hope you will be able to reply my post. Thanks again.

I never knew Jeff C. and Joe recorded in Vancouver...I wonder why? I always thought San Francisco was the place.

Joe...did you get the hat I sent for your birthday?

anyway, just wanted to say that "it's Veterans Day" and I am thinking of all of our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world.

Joe,

You work so hard, we all appreciate it and salute you!

Just a quick thought - RE:copying music for friends------- A friend of mine gave us a copied tape of you about ten years ago, I probably would have never heard of you if he hadn't, and I don't have the money (2 kids eat it!) to just buy music, just in case it's good. However since that time, I have been a huge fan and I have bought almost all of your CDs and DVDs, so it works for the benefit of artists in the end when their music is copied.

hugs Satriella xx
