I didn't mean the tune or tone was out a bit. At least I don't think so!
I'll try again because I might learn something from your response.
One of the things that really impresses me about Joe's playing is that when he tears it up a bit, it fits perfectly with what the other instruments are playing. To me, there are very few people that do it quite as well.
I'm not comparing you with Joe, just trying to explain what I mean.
So, what I am trying to say is that in places, your solo shreddy bits seem to me to go through the general tune a bit quicker than everything else. Having said that, your playing compares very favourably with many of the 'professionals'.
Keep rocking and good luck.
Steve.

Hey Joe,
It's me again, caddymark420, as I believe I've stated before,
I am the Music Director at KCRH 89.9, Chabot College Radio in Hayward. I will be leaving Chabot to go down to San Diego City College to take over their Radio Station (and be with my Angel)....So I can play your music and give the fine folks of San Diego and Chula Vista a MAJOR wake up call, get their eyes open and their blood pumpin' with a little "Back to Shalla-Bal" and "Summer Song", their station has been playing sleepy type jazz. You know, I would LOVE to do an interview with you, if possible, (before I leave on the 19th of December for So.Cal. after finals), THAT would be a kick ass feather in my cap, to be able to interview one of the Hottest Guitar Ledgends of the last twenty years. IF interested, PLEASE contact me at KCRH 89.9 at 510-723-6954 or 6981-(6981 is the "On Air" request line #), I am here everyday from 5:30am to around 7:30pm, this is my classroom and job and again as I said, an interview with you would be a kick ass feather in my cap and something to tell my kids/ grand kids......Thanks Joe, Peace.

Hey Joe,
I just found out a friend of mine recently visited you in the studio. One Shaun Verreault. I don't know if he told you how much time we spent recording little instrumental pieces of music just learning and experimenting, and how much you and Steve Vai were influential in us just throwing caution to the wind, and ignoring the traditional recording 'rules', but we did, and you were. Just wanted to say thanks for continuing to just "make music" regardless of what style says, and trends that come and go. As I always say, "Respect tradition, Screw convention".
I also thought you might be interested in this guitar that started out as a white 540, and due to a bad show-off accident, needed a new body that I had a couple of custom touches done to. I had a Fred and Hot-Rails put in as well.

Hi Joe, Just another note, what is it 30 something now, to say how fantastic your music is, not only that thankyou for inspiring so many people to pick up a guitar and SHRED!
I hereby rename this site T2VTG - Talk to very talented guitarists.
Death cube k - just checked into your site, wow yet another wonderfully talented person in here, my favourites list gets longer by the day, and it's all full of great guitarists that I've met on this site. Haven't had a chance to look too deeply into your site yet as I've only just come in the door and time on the computer is limited when you hve two teenagers waiting and watching over your shoulder complaining about the five minutes you've already had! But I will definately check out some more vibes over the next week. Cool!
962 & Guitarmiester - Wow thanks guys for the indepth reply to my query. Aaaggh, back to square one though don't know what to get first - have to select very carefully, 2 teenagers eat most of my money so I have to be wise, but I don't know what to choose first now!? Help
js1200js1000 - Thank your mum and dad for me for making you the person that you are, they did a good job! Every day is thanksgiving day for me by the way! Talking of which, thanks for your support. FRIENDS EH!!!!!!!!.
Dakook - Good to add another person to the list of people who talk to me - OK technically you only talk about me, but what the hey, this site would be a pretty lonely place if no-one spoke to anyone else. Anyway, just to set the matter straight, the only thang me and js1200js1000 have going is a joke about canadians and the stupidity of me and if you added up all the times we have spoken it would amount to a five minute conversation up the pub! Even the most jealous of girlfriends couldn't get upset at that. - Another interesting thing about this site is that when you first join, you haven't got a clue from most of the names - ie: Dakook, js1200 js1000, Blue Moon, Zenfish etc if you are speaking to a bloke, a girl or an alien!! js1200js1000 has been bucking me up through a bad time and I thank him very much for that! He is a good bloke and so is 962. I completely love 962, SteeveT, and Clarky's music (I'll probably add Rusty to that as well) and I tell them so, as I would yours, a girls or an aliens if I heard it. The point is I'm a friendly person who is still utterly amazed with the internet and who thinks its incredible that someone on the other side of the world is talking to me! Anyway it would seem that I have a thang going with you as well now - care to comment eh (that's a canadian thing!)?
PS. I didn't take offence at what you said by the way.
Hugs to all Satriella xx

Hey 962 and Guitarmiester - Would you believe it, it can be handy having a teenager! As my son was reading over my shoulder, "Oh", says Troy "Dream Theatre, I've got one of their albums!" Just listening to it, hmmmm, not sure yet, don't rate the singer much, might put me off! sorry guys, but as with Jimmie Hendrix, no doubt he's a great guitarist, but his voice puts me right off! Anyway, makes a change for Troy to get in there first, normally he comes in all excited, "hey mum, Just heard a great song called Smoke on the water, it goes..." mum says "Yeah, had Deep Purple in my collection for years".......days later..... he comes in all excited, "hey mum, Just heard a great song called Freebird it goes....mum says "Yeah, had that in my collection for years as well".......days later..... he comes in all excited "AC/DC are great ....mum says...well you can guess the rest hehe ... How annoying to have a cool mum!!!!!!!!
Hugs Satriella xx

Civgeek - I love spending money on my kids, they are well worth it, KIDS ARE GREAT, no matter what age, love them to bits, scrummy little (6 foot 4 inches) things. Wouldn't be without them for the world - most of the money goes on food and school etc anyway.
Hugs Satriella xx

Having been to see Joe in May 2001 at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix ( Awesome concert) I was wondering why the Bass player was geting booed. He was good!! Stu Hamm was his name I believe. My wife and I noticed the same thing happened when he was on the Live in San Fransisco DVD. What was I missing? Unfortunately I had to give away my tickets to see Joe in Phoenix back in early 2005 because I had to go to Houston for work. So I'm waiting for the next opportunity.

Alright thanks for the help, so anyone know exactly how tpdo a Pinch Harmonic? When I try it, is just sounds really weak. Of course it may just be different guitar pickups and such. What does everyone else think?

Slansh - I think that only the insecure are guarded about their knowledge....
be careful about doing her up the hoop...
she has the yellow belt and is not to be screwed with.. lmao...
Satriella - that post is funny as fuck.....
like when a relative would take me to the seaside..
"are we there yet" with only 5 miles driven and 50 to go.. lol..
word on the street has it that the David Cross Band "may" be playing a few gigs in the UK in March / April 06 as prep for our Japan tour...
ok so it won't be my music...
but it'll still be me being a thug on stage violently ravaging a few RG's...
if you're interested, I'll shout the dates and venues neerer the time...

naffing nora.... 12 pages and i was only up at the lake house from thursday night..... sorry if i tread on any toes or reply too late to anything....
skipper yeah it's weird... in the confines of the family / home it's brekky dinner tea, but taking anything but breakfast outside of the home makes it something else, lol... dinner becomes lunch (which for me was an egg and bacon barm around 11:00 with a brew) and tea becomes dinner... i guess we're weird... or maybe they are! lol and try explaining "eeh i'll go to't foot of our stairs" to an american and you're in for some frowns! lmao!
dr mindcrime there have been at least two T2JCD2 updates in the last week... what more do you want?!?! lol
yoda cool post, however please remember that IV and IVmaj7 and I and Imaj7 and (especially) V and V7 aren't the same thing, you used them interchangeably... ;-)
AustiNitsuA hey bro :-)
master zed welkies, matey :-)
aussieRGman sounds cool on your recent purchases! people have literally made movies with such kit! read the manuals! ;-)
congrats luini!!! well done that man!!!!
cube and skipper i think critiquing music is a tough job (if one is a real critic, not one who gets free passes to this that and the other).... i like to try and "judge" (but even "judge" is a bad word, i think) music on what it is... you either like it or you don't... maybe you like bits and don't like other bits... it's all cool... it means you have an opinion.... your (skipper) roundup of mark's music was honest and i appreciate that... and i actually agree to an extent... mark's music is very original to me and i always look forward to a new tune in my gmail box from him.... however i'm not exactly sure why i'm even responding to this cos i'm not involved LMAO... blame it on the high mountain air i've been sucking down for the last three nights.... at 35 degrees F here it's positively warm compared to the lake.... ok i'm waffling...
big gay al if you get your paddy arse over here i'll buy you more than one beer, how's that...? hey what happened with the job?
