TASTEY: No maam, no trips back home in a loooong time, lol,
I'm sure it's pretty brisk at the moment.... My sis moved to N.H.
(Atkinson), and my Dad wants to move closer to her.... Mom lives at the entrance to the Cape (Sandwich).... Man, I'd love to have a house there!.... Take care Stace....
Zenfish: I blame Sammy cause \//-/ music went to I cant drive 55 100% IMO.... Stopped liking them after 1984 cause there should only be one git with Ed on stage.... Yeah, I know, I'm stubborn when it comes to Ed, lol....

regarding Lord God King Fripp... I posted this earlier but you guys might have thought it was a crack-inspired post seeing as I didn't attribute it to anything... but what the hey... here it be thegain...
Why do you sit down on stage?
Because I can't play guitar standing up.
Do you think people see you as being moody by sitting down?
I couldn't care less.
first answer edited a little for brevity. taken from here
EDIT: my spelling sometimes could be better :-P

Hi Joe, guys, and fellow fans and denizens of c-space
Just a quick hello from a FNG on this site. Joe, I gotta tell ya, I think the first tune of yours that I ever heard was Surfin' and you became one of only a handful who have ever been able to make my world stop while I listened with my mouth hanging open the entire time. I've been a fan ever since. Life compelled me to put the guitar down for a while - sold off everything - then I got the Live In San Francisco dvd, and realized what was missing from my life. Thanks again for the renewed inspiration.
I'm even playing in a band again...who says I'm too old to rock?!?
I hope to become a regular correspondant and contributor on the site, for what its worth. As a player, I've covered a lot of different styles over the years. I'm fond of saying that I'm good enough to know what good is...and smart enough to know that I'm not. I play to play, I play for the music's sake and because I like it...I don't need any other reason. If you think I'm gonna quit now, guess again! Sinkable?!? Unthinkable!!!
And as the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds say at their debriefings...Glad to be here, boss!

DEATH CUBE - that's funny you should say that. i've been out of the loop for guitar effects and stuff (the stuff i'm supposed to sell) for quite a while now (i dunno, i bought most of the pedals i wanted a while ago, and i haven't kept as close track since). gc doesn't know the meaning of the word 'training' and plopped me behind the counter immediately and i felt really overwhelmed at first. i talked to some coworkers about it and i always got a similar answer - "yeah when someone asks me a question and i don't know the answer, i just bullshit and make it up." pretty telling, huh? but actually most of those guys know their stuff pretty well.
i am in la with my band, shaimus (www.shaimus.com). moved here from the east coast in october (grew up in philly, school in boston).

Helloooooo Satchheads! lol
Ths is going to be brief cause it's 9pm and i need sleep!!.....
I didn't get home from Yngwie till alsmot 1pm and worked OT today and I've got to be up at 5am tomorrow then head up to NYC for Yngwie Round 2...whew i'm a lil tired.
Thanks to all for my Birthday wishes!! I truly appreciate it. Thank you. It has been a most excellent Bday so far and I'm not done celebrating yet...hee-hee! Now I just need Steve Vai to email me back about my photos.......
Last night as I was walking up to club i see Yngwies Drummer. So I stop him & ask if he's his drummer....yup! Patrick introduces himself and so do I. We are chatting, mostly me talking....lol. Telling him about my G3 & Yngwie shows and I mention I'm going to the NYC show for my Bday. Well, both shows were for my Bday actually. So he says I have a present for you. We go around to the back stage entrace and he goes in an returns with a pair of drum sticks from another show or sound check ( they are beat up pretty good) He autographs them and also gave me a guitar pick. We talk for a bit more....I told him the G3-03 shows changed my life, he said "really?!" So I told him of my adventures after discoveing Joe. I'll be bringing some photos to show him and hopefully Yngwie before the show. (Yngwie didn't allow photos at the club but I'm hoping it's not the same for BB Kings....Even EJ allowed photos at BB's.) I went into the club & was standing in the 2nd row......Yngwie came on and I worked my way between the 2 in front of me........I was FRONT & CENTER 2 Feet from Yngwie the entire night!! I coulda touched him or the Dream Catchers on his Mic stand. OMG, what an amazing night!!! he kept tosing picks my way but I didn't try to catch em, I was just enjoying the show. I ended up with 3 picks & the 1st part of the set list as well as one of the strings he ripped outa his Strat. I had such a blast at this show, rocking my ass off.......I can't wait to do it again tomorrow with Ronnie!! I'll be ther early to meet up with Patrick and hopefully Yngwie too. We shall see, fingers crossed.
Capt Steve: Sorry I missed your post about Vai Anthology, It is simply AMAZING!! I love it, it totally ROCKS!! Take it with you on your Journey. Happy Christmas and safe travels! I will miss you. God Bless.
Night.... Mar

Happy Birthday Mari...sound like you had a great time at Yngwie's...and will again, lol!! :) Have fun on round 2!!
yeah, that guitar is wicked looking....almost hurts me to look at it, lol! How could someone take a beautiful instrument like a JS guitar and carve most of it away to create THAT? I'm not sure it's meant to be played either....it looks like it could *snap* in a stiff breeze!
Just watched Joe and Steve in the Harmony Hut video again....it's so fun to see them just jam together and enjoy themselves like that...would love to see more!
Awwwwww, it's snowing like there's no tomorrow here....MAJOR storm moved in on us tonight...just 2 days after the last one. I see lotsa more shoveling in my future, lol! But it's just incredibly beautiful out there, as it's coming down. Truly a winter wonderland...until I have to shovel and drive in it tomorrow that is!! Then it's gonna be "@$^)(#% SNOW!!!!" :)
*Sniff...............*sniff..........................*snuff.......the chat is so broken again. I can see that we need to start a support group for the "chat-bereaved"..... :(
But I still love ya JOE!!! LOL!!! Home yet? :)

peaceandguitars, yeah that's a fair point dude. I can understand why people didn't like him, though I personally thought he was quite amazing. I gotta say though, yes it's perhaps fair to say that he could have thought about how to tailor his performance to better suit his audience and context, but that would also defy the point of having him there in the first place.
It would be like hiring Yngwie Malmsteen and telling him just to play some blues all night....not gonna happen! haha. Does that make sense?
I think a large part of the problem was that more than half of the audience were people way too young to have a clue who Fripp is and what he's about, so they had no idea what to expect. They could have done their research though, so I think it's just narrow-mindedness that is the problem! Aaww I don't know.....:-p
dakook, nice one amigo, I'm glad to see I was sharing what I think is a fair opinion!
mthead, haha, you know I find it amazing to read weather reports from people here on t2j! You had a heatwave and it was 6 degrees? Rock on!
I guess it's been a boring, average 10 or so here in the UK for a while, and I saw mikey saying yesterday it was 20 or 30 or something mad over in Japan! It's not even in the southern hemisphere! What's life like in Anchorage? I've always been intrigued about Alaska, and would kind of like to go there, but am not sure what goes on....

962 - oh yeah Venus Isle is a pretty recent album... i've seen the video of the song being played live over at EJ's site, but the resolution is quite poor...
about my strat's neck - i think it's the one thing responsible for me not being able to get good sustain... the last notes on the high e string won't ring through properly (starting from the 17th to the 22nd)... so i'd like to know where and how much a replacement neck would cost. i've been doing some asking downtown and they have no idea where i can get a new neck... any ideas my all knowing friend?

The Eagles' Don Henley says the band will return to the studio early next year to continue work on its long-awaited new album.
"We leave for a European tour in May, so that gives us approximately the first four months of 2006 to do some writing and recording," Henley revealed in a recent interview. The Eagles' European trek currently is scheduled from a May concert in Barcelona, Spain, through a June 23 show in Glasgow, Scotland.

marimariSRV: Wow, that is waaaaay too kuul!!.... Glad you had a great time, we hope you get to meet YJM, and tell Ronnie we said YO!....
Zenfish: Yeah man, Sammy's era was a disappointment for me.... Even more was the return of Ed last year, and then hearing about how the \//-/ Tour fell apart because of him.... Somethings never change, but Ed is still young enough to prove us all wrong.... We shall see....
962: LOL Simon, 10C is about as cold as it gets here.... Sometimes we get into the low 6's, lol, that's when we wear our heavy jackets!.... In the winter, we get a northern wind chill (from the Mainland) that makes it feel colder than it really is.... Brrrrrrr, lol, we is spoiled!....
....Nitey Nite....
Oh, btw, michelle.... I'm still in tears, lol!!!! 8-)
