Hello everyone. Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer my question. I have been trying to find out what kind of effect(s) is/are used on "Bamboo" to play the lead guitar throughout most of the song. I don't mean the wailing lead guitar at the beginning of the song, but the sound that kicks in at 3:00 into the song. It has a swell kind of effect and an echo feel that sounds eerie and utterly fantastic. I could listen to that song go on for hours. And Joe, if you are there, your last two studio albums have been phenomenal in my opinion. Your playing and your songs just gets better and better all the time. Thanks.

Clarkysan: lol bro, it was a windy 24C today, lol, you'll make it here one of these days, otherwise I need to fly to see you and DC at the Mainland, lol, stay lucky bro....

Zensan: You can definately add Ed and SRV to the genius' list of the 20th Century, and it is great that we can understand and celebrate them in the present!....

....1984 has the jewels, but it signified the end of the ROTH era.... 5150 and on is \//\/\/ /-//\G/\R.... That screwed up Ed's synch, 2 git's, 2 different styles and approaches.... F*ck Sammy....

....Great analogy on Ed vs. Vito, and SRV vs. KWS.... They play on their heroes passion, but cannot find their own.... No advancement, so to speak....

....What the future holds remains to be seen.... We need another big bang for guitar, lol....

....Nite all....

Please never have Robert Fripp on another G3. He's too speeeeeecial to stand up and jam out like a real rocker. Let him sit in the dark and be a fucking rude ass weirdo. I viewd a bunch of pics of the G3 jam songs and he's off in the dark playing with himself while Satch and Vai steal the show and have a good time. Fuck Robert the ninny Fripp! The 04 G3 with Fripp was really just a G2 Satch/Vai tour!

hello,

does Mr. Satriani use a Tremsetter or anything kind of that?

does Mr. Satriani use the Standard Chromatic Tuning or the Buzz Feiten Tuning ?

does Mr. Satriani relocate the Nut on his guitar to resolve the sharpness of the first three frets ?

thousand of thanks and a happy new year !

Why do you sit down on stage?
Because I can't play guitar standing up.
Do you think people see you as being moody by sitting down?
I couldn't care less.

Hello all

Since no-one answered my question about the Vai anthology I am going to sulk and disappear for about four months. Then I will come back here and see if there are any nice people posting.

It is only sheer co-incidence that I am going away to spend four months on a ship tomorrow.

Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year to you all.

Handshakes, hugs and kisses to those of you who would consider me a friend.

Keep rocking.

Steve.

I know I'm a bit late with this but...

Suzie R2 does recognise Obi-Wan, but he can't talk and say it, since all he does is bleep, and at the end of episode III, Bail Organa says he wants C3P0's memory erased, presumably so he can't tell anyone where Obi-Wan or Yoda are being hidden. Also, it does appear that ownership of R2 has passed over to Anakin, before Bail Organa who will have used them on the ship seen at the end of III and the beginning of IV, hence they are in Leia's control in IV. Some Jedi (e.g. Qui Gonn and Anakin) die in physical form because they do not know the technique of accepting death and becoming one with the Force, whereas others, such as Obi-Wan and Yoda, know how to do this and therefore their bodies become one with the Force rather than remaining as it is. However, in the books, it says Anakin did become one with the Force, because he fulfilled the prophecy by destroying the empire, which is why he still came back as a 'ghost'.

Hope that clears it all up for you :-)

TASTEY, yeah, he died in July 2003....I can't believe it's more than 2 years already! Thanks for the e-mail....short but sweet! hehe :-D

Yeah things are cool thanks. I'm pretty busy working (teaching) and enjoying it. I'm still kind of disappointed that News In Brief didn't get anyone's attention, but listening to it now I can hear it's flaws. Al and I are still both really pleased with it though, and are always greatful for your involvement.

I can't believe that was over a year ago! How about you? Apart from the obvious, how is everything else? It's great to hear you got cats to keep you company....they're the best! how many have you got?

shreddykruger, shit you're narrow-minded! I'm sure Joe would not warm to your theme - I talked to him about Robert Fripp and the poor reception he got on G3, and Joe said it had been his pleasure and honour to work with someone of such stature and importance, and he'd had a wonderful time working with him.

Have some respect dude...I know we're all entitled to our own opinion, and if you don't like Fripp that's fine, but there's better ways of sharing your thoughts.
