Hi all,

Great to be back!!!! i've had a trojan horse virus on my computer, very scary, all the writing was round the wrong way and all sorts! Kinda half fixed now, so priorities...get a post on T2J.

It's three in the morning and I'm sitting here with a Lemsip feeling very ill, my throat kills so I'm glad to let my fingers do the talking.

To all you Zappa fans (peace&guitars)- me too! I don't know that I like all his stuff, but then it would take a sqajillion years to listen to it all, but the albums I've got I love and "Does humour belong in music" vid is hillarious, a resounding YES to that question.

Mthead101 - I believe you! Love the new word slam-a-tocious, look forward to seeing that one in the dictionary, ummm not that I sit around reading dictionaries you understand, just wonder what the definition would be!!

LucySorets - Love the picture of "knock on wood!" added that to my favourites!! Where do they play the guitarfest, my mum has a place in spain, You never know I may be able to get to that!

OK here goes you'll probably never speak to me again for this but Who is: Andy Timmons, Greg Howe, Joe Walsh (How did he become a god to the guitar gods?) and Yngwie Malmsteen (and where do you get a name like that anyway!)

To all who are taking offence at anything, don't forget that with the written word you can't see the facial expression and the sentiment behind what is being said, I'm sure all of us have opened our mouth and put our foot right in it on many occasions, so try to pass over it, as has been said :)

ow, ow, ow - must go get a throat sweet. boo hoo - it hurts!!!

js1200js1000 - ahhh thanks for being worried!! VIRUSES EH!!

Hugs Satriella xx

LucySorets, thanks for the review of Andy's show! Yeah, Andy does have a messageboard but it's having to be rebuilt right now because some bunch of hackers tore it to bits.

Satriella, hey it's great to see you back on here! I was about to post a message on your behalf saying you'd been hit by the Horse of Troy, but it looks like you got it sorted!

Thanks loads for the card you sent, that was very kind :-] Regards "thanks for the support" ~ you're very welcome, it's no trouble at all.

Regards "who is Andy Timmons?" ~ he is the quintessential daddy. You have to hear him. Andy plays with more feel and expression and melodic genius than one man should be able to muster, but somehow, like Eric Johnson, he pulls it off.

And he plays anything from some shredding speed-metal to beautiful ballads, chicken-pickin', blues-rock and also some stunning Beatles-inspired vocals.

If you head here - http://www.andytimmons.com/tunesframe.htm - you can check out some tunes from all of his albums. I especially recommend checking out:

Carpe Diem, Electric Gypsy, Groove Or Die, For God And Country, Way That I'm Livin'. This should give you some indication of Andy's sheer variety.

Van Halen's Michael Anthony entered a Los Angeles studio last month to record a track for the as-yet-untitled upcoming album by guitar virtuoso Neal Zaza. "Michael is really an amazing bassist with enormous groove and a huge feel," Zaza writes online. Ex-Journey drummer Steve Smith also has contributed his talents to the CD, which is expected out in early 2006.

Satriella - Andy Timmons, Greg Howe, Joe Walsh (How did he become a god to the guitar gods?) and Yngwie Malmsteen

Going down the list Andy is just a great player. Used to be the guitarist for Danger Danger. Lots of chops.

Greg Howe was one of the early Varney shredders on Shrapnel. He has more of a jazz fusion thing now but is all shred.

Yngwie is the guy that started all the neo-classical stuff. I remember clear as day the first time I heard him. I though " Oh shit, I need to practice!"

Actually, I guess that is true of all these guys and I would have to say that of Joe and Steve ... People that inspire to sit down and litererally (sp?) play the skin off your finger tips are the ones that become the guitar gods.

As for Joe Walsh, I had never put him in the "god" catagory although he IS a great songwriter. But that is a different animal all together.

sotd for wolf - electric head by rob zombie

Slan, you scottish nutjob you. lmao! But can ya build a house in seven days? lol! I bet you could rip one down in two ;-)

As for the CHAT, it's a great place to talk to Satch fans from all over the world. Every great once in a while, Joe blesses us with a conversation, which is the coolest thing in the world. The problem is, if you go into the chat acting like an ass, you're going to be treated like one. It's that simple. We laugh and joke and call each other names, just like friends do in REAL life. We talk about any and every subject under the sun. If we only talked about Joe, it would get boring very fast. Even Joe would agree with that. We laugh, and I mean laugh that you think your insides are going to burst, sometimes we cry, and we vent - just like we do in REAL life. It's a place for friends to share information and get to know each other. I've met a lot of cool people through the chat, each with different personalities, and most with a great sense of humor. The problem is when people come in looking for trouble, spying on people, or they want to pick a fight because they had a bad day. Then your really not welcome, and you will probably be treated accordingly, just as you would be in REAL life. The bottom line is - the chat is what YOU make it.

errrr, I had something else to say, but I'll save it for another day.

Greg is uncanny in his musical approach and feel!.... You can also check out vids from his dvd in the multimedia section........

....And btw.... Joe Walsh is an awesome blues player!!!!.... Just check out the Crossroads dvd and you will see....

962: If you get a chance, check out Richie Kotzens Acoustic Cuts.... You'll get more of an idea of his vocal talent.... Sad that there are only 3 samples, the best work is not heard from the choices.... I hope your dialup can check em' quickly....

Hi Guys,

It never ceases to amaze me just how helpful you are! I thought I was in for a right ribbing for not knowing some of your beloved guitarists - but no you all gave me links to their sites, well I guess I know what I'll be doing for the holidays! By the way, as for calling Joe Walsh (incidentally I still have no idea who he is) a guitar god, they were no my words they were Brian Mays on expo (Seville) 92, there was Steve Vai, Joe, Brian, Nuno already up there on stage, then Brian says "I'd like to introduce you to the guitar god that all us guitar gods look up to - Jo Walsh", On walks - well no it wasn't really a walk more like a hitler saunter, this mad thing, peering into the cameras, with bottle bottom glasses on, torn jeans and a scarf like a piono keyboard! Definately not your average Jo!! Anyway they all launch into "Rocky Mountain Way" - Strange man indeed.

Special thanks to Civgeek and 962 - your commentaries on the guys was very helpful. I'll let you know what I think of them, in say 6 months when I've had a chance to check them all out - mark it in your diaries.

Michelle - Yep, I'm dizzy alright - going in for the op next week!!!! hahaha

SteveeT - Thanks for the concern, it's bin a hard day at work, not made any easier by all the micky taking cos one minute I'm deep, husky and sexy and next I'm Minnie mouse!!

Distant hugs to you all (wouldn't want you to catch anything)

Satriella xx
