Satriella, my fav Dream Theater cd is Train Of Thought. Fantastic cd! Then I'll direct you to John Petrucci's cd - Suspended Animation. If you want to keep it in the DT family some more, go for Liquid Tension Experiment.

I haven't owned a Yngwie album since the 80's. I know there's one in the basement with the vinyls, and I know nothing about Andy Timmons.

See, I helped, but I really didn't. I'm so special :) Good luck and have fun!

Satriella - I do indeed. I never caught the previous post where you must have been talking about it. The Eagles were big in the UK too! I was never into them though. Hotel California just never quite did it for me - but they wrote some classic songs - can't deny that. They are more cult status in the US. I recall Joe Walsh being quite funny at Expo 92. I guess it was a UK production and not really shown here. I have it taped somewhere and watch it occasionally - well I did before I sold my multi-region VCR a couple of months ago.

Zenfish: Thanks!! Very Cool Sister Rosella Tharpe.

Castle49: I meant to say something about the Moon the other night, it was an incredibly beautiful sky.......the bright star is Venus next to the Waxing Cresent Moon. Venus will be at it's most brightest of the year on Fri night, let hope the sky will be clear........ No wonder JOe loves "outer space". The nighttime sky is very enchanting, sometimes surreal. I just love it....

Ovation: I have a feeling the next time I see Yngwie I will be doing photos for him.......fingers crossed. LOL, I'd love to see him play tennis, wonder if he wears all his Bling & puts his hair in a pony tail? he-hee. I heard Hiannis Port (sp?) Mass had 100 inches of snow last year!! Toshi does NOT like snow. Looks like I need to get another car for the winter to ge tme to work...it's not even Christmas & we've has 2 Snow Storms alreaddy. Ugh

marimariSRV - Thanks for the info. Looking forward to Friday night. 20% chance of rain. Very clear today though. We have a gazing ball that reflects the house the lights and the sky in a very surreal way. So beautiful.

Stevee T - Ha Ha me too. I even took Abnormal Psych. The 49 reflects my past (address) and the Castle a future (address) so here I am somewhere in between as in now.

Hi everyone in Joe's Cyber dark room ;-)

Today is a holiday here, Constitution's Day, so we're having a nice and quiet day...dinner with friends, DVDs and now I'm installing this and that on the computer...I hope it doesn't crash ;-)

Stevee T: "LucySorets...very nice shots!!"

Thanks Steve! Glad you liked the pics :-)

ovation1: "Lucky Sorets: CONGRATULATIONS on see that awesome show, and thanks for the setlist and great review!!.... Sounds almost better than the U.S. G3!!..."

Thanks! Yeah, it was a great guitar night, I'm very "lucky" ;-) everyone was happy and time just flew away! I never had to look at the clock or hope for a song to finish quickly hehe

bahduh, hi, I got your mail...hmmm it's a long one, nice... I'll reply asap, have a nice day!

Satriella, welcome back! And I hope you feel better soon from your throat pain. Your mum has a place in Spain, nice :-)

About Guitar Fest...it takes place every year after summer and they tour many cities of Spain. You can see here the posters of all Guitar Fest editions till today with all the cities included in each edition:

Guitar Fest 2005

Guitar Fest 2004

Guitar Fest 2003

As Simon, I highly recommend you Andy Timmons too. He is fantastic. His music is very varied and melodic. You can begin with "That Was Then, This Is Now" that includes the best of some previous albums and new tracks. I picked it up the day after the show ;-)

From Yngwie I would begin with "Rising Force" his masterpiece, and "Live in Leningrad: Trial by Fire".

About why guitarists make faces when they play...I can tell you about Steve Vai, precisely he was asked about it at the EVO Madrid Experience... he said that he can't avoid doing that and that his fingers are intimately connected with his face LOL

I think it's a question of feeling and personality, the feeling and fusion when you are playing what your soul says and according with one's personality, more or less faces. Eric Johnson doesn't make faces, Joe is balanced and Steve is visually ultra-expressive even when he is not playing! He gesticulated a lot during EVO too! He is a funny guy.

962: "thanks for the review of Andy's show! Yeah, Andy does have a messageboard but it's having to be rebuilt right now because some bunch of hackers tore it to bits."

Ahhhh...these hackers are always making pranks! I hope they fix it soon. And my pleasure to write the review :-) I’m more and more impressed with Mr Timmons and it's your fault in part ;-)

guitarchris:"But I haven't seen Joe yet.. By any chance does Joe go to the Netherlands next year? Is there yet any information available?"

There aren't still any news about tour dates but it would be really cool if Joe begins his next tour in Europe. We couldn't enjoy the ITLIS? so I think we deserve it ;-) Let's see what happen...

Suzie2000, it takes a long time to download the song...I bookmarked it and I will try again later and I'll tell you :-)

Civgeek- thanks! It reminded me of being little, touched my heart a little bit.

LucySorets- yes that's the only downside- the band's video takes a while to load, not so bad with broadband, but if not, a pain in the neck!

Hmmm I've seen some comments about Frank Zappa around...

I love Frank Zappa too. Well...some days after his death, one of the public radio channels in Spain "Radio 3" made a tribute to Zappa. This tribute consisted of broadcasting his entire discography. So every night for one hour every album was broadcasted without cuts and commented. This lasted months. I had the opportunity of listening to every album, appreciating Zappa's genious and brilliance.

Some points about Frank Zappa's music:

When I listen to Zappa I can't do another thing at the same time. It's like watching a movie.

I love all the albums but if I had to choose...the "You Can't do That on Stage Anymore" series are my favorite albums.

RIP Frank Zappa (December 21st 1940 - December 4th 1993)

most guitarists make faces, It just happens when u play the instrument intimatly, and if some dont do it on stage they defintly do when no ones looking!! im forever doing it, if im not making funny faces my eyes are closed...... but this is coming from a guy who sleeps with his guitar :-O but im just very emotional and passionate when it comes to music, especially guitars.......... My 24 cents

michelle Train of Thought is one of DT's best, what great songs that CD has! (I'm listening to Octavarium right now.) How is Petrucci's S.A.? I've been wanting to order it from his site but just haven't gotten to it... I haven't heard much of it yet, but most likely I'll like it, just wondering what you think of it. I'm a pretty big DT fan, and LTE. Still waiting to finally see DT live...Waiting for new dates to be posted...maybe soon?!

Satriella About Yngwie CD's... I don't have all of his, but I got some good ones. Concerto Suite, Attack!!, Unleash the Fury, Rising Force, Collection, and Inspiration. The only other Yngwie CD's I've been really wanting to get is the live CD he's got out (the double disc one, but I'd probably get the older one as well) and the other Rising Force CD (which is supposed to be one of his best.) Out of the ones I have, if I had to pick my favorite it would be either Attack!! or Rising Force (cover has fire with a ladys arm holding a Yngwie Strat.) The others aren't bad at all, but those two stand out the most. Inspiration is really cool, if you like Rush, Deep Purple, Hendrix, and a few others, Yngwie did some really good covers. Concerto Suite, I think, would probably be something guitarists would pick up, but you could like it. It's his most known stuff with him playing it with an orchestra (in E flat minor to be exact...seems to be Yngwie's favorite key, he has so many songs in E flat minor.) I wasn't that impressed with Collection, there's better CD's than that. Unleash the Fury is his latest, it has some really good songs on it. I'd definitly recommend Attack!!, Rising Force (with Yngwie Strat being held up with fire in background), and there's another Rising Force, I'll let you know exactly which one it is later, I'd look now but can't. Those three would be the best to get 1st. I'll get back to you later.

Zenfish: I wish Shane luck also, but right now, he hasnt done anything to cause an uproar in the guitar world.... I'm sure he will someday....

Clarkysan: Awesome news bro, I hope we get the chance!.... Good luck with the gigs bro and looking forward to Shredz.... I'm sure Guitar 9 is also.... I'm sure we'll see you there bro!

Satriella: The faces we make comes from the feelings we get, which are transmitted uncontrollably from emotions within our soul, caused by the melodies that we create.... lol, that sounded scientific! ;-)

marimariSRV: haha, lol Mari, I could picture YJM with all the bling, leather, truffles and the ponytail running across the tennis court.... Take care of Toshi mar, and Hyannis is not far from my Mom, and she told us how wonderful the snowstorms were, lol, stay warm mar, and we will karma that photo call! :-)

Lucky Sorets: Happy Constitutions Day, and thanks for the links!....

....Off to work....

JOE: Does your Christmas tree have little JS guitar ornaments all over it? ;-)

-Those are 3 great ones to go with. If you are looking for 5, which I think you might have said, get Unleash the Fury and Double Live. I've been wanting to pick up Double Live for a while now. I've got a bunch of CD's I'll be picking up later this week.

Guitarmiester: One of the members here (Matt King / Course of Evolution) won a scholarship to Berklee.... We were like "AWESOME", but he found out it wasnt for him and decided not to go.... Long story short, he basically said that it was real political, and the average student doesnt get noticed....

....I wish he would chime in here.... Calling Matt King to explain!....

....One of our members here, Ricky Garcia, went there....

Matt King, for some reason that name sounds familiar to me? I know I've seen him post here before, but still, sounds like a familiar name to me? For me, the only way to really go there would be to get a scholarship, which I'm working hard at. I did just get my SAT scores back, and did better than I though, huge improvement from my 1st SAT score! I got at least 100+ more points in each area. I've heard that about Berklee, that it's really not for everyone. I know Joe went there, briefly, and it wasn't for him. I'm not positive on this one, but I think all the guys from Dream Theater went there, but I don't think they were there for real long. My friend just went to Berklee to check it out two months ago, he's applying there too. That's the only thing I'm sorta wondering about, if it'll really be for me. I know music very well and I can definitly play, but..maybe I'll take a few days out up there and really check it out.

One of the other main reasons I'd like to go there is to finally meet some real musicians... you guys probably know, but the kids these days are, I hate to say it, just disgusting at what they play(not all, but most). I haven't found or jammed with one kid in my area that was really good, knew music, or listened to anything good. It's totally unbelievable, I've been without a band for a while now, I've been trying to get one going, but it's pretty hard. With the music that's popular today on top of how many kids just play to be cool, it's not easy finding other kids to work with that can handle what I play or give them to play. Well...I do know two kids out of like 40 kids that were actually really good at what they played (one played bass, the other drums), tried making a band with them, but the bassist didn't really work.
