I just want to thank you for giving me a whole lot of the most excellent Guitar work.

Again Thank you sir for writing your songs from the heart and not fabricating the music with pressure from the industry or all those people who just have their own ideas of what is cool and what is not,.

When I am writing, I have to go to my studio and lock the door. It's only Rock and Roll....

I have a JS-100 and it rocks.

Keep On Rock'n my brother.

Sincerely: Shred Man

Al, A Train Of Angels sounds great. Good job Mc!! Just listened to it with some volume behind it. I'll send the link to Dave to hear it. Chee will listen to it when she wakes up, I sent her the link last night :) Good stuff man! And by the by, I got about 2 hours sleep. I'm going to need a coffee IV today, and it's all your fault! lol!

Satriella, where's this guy when ya need him? "18. He's got this huge tool that vibrates the whole house and I just can't take it any more. " lmao!!!

TomSr in the house!!!

SupaaDave, so it's Metamucil then huh? lmao!! Cheers!

Guitarmeister, Petrucci's cd is great! Really good stuff on there! Haven't heard a bad review yet. I think you can listen to clips on his site. My fav song is Tunnel Vision. If you have the new G3 DVD or cd, 2 of the songs from the cd are on that. When DT comes your way, DO NOT miss them!! They're incredible live!!

And now, I'm going to crumple in a little ball on the sofa and try to get an hour sleep before I start my crazy busy day. I'm soooooooo ti-yerd!!

Ovation1, I think you got Joe Walsh and Ry Cooder confused bro......It was Cooder who did the blues parts on Crossroads. Joe Walsh was nowhere near at the time, and his phone records prove it! haha.

Cheers for the pointers on Richie. I think I'll be filling out my Paul Gilbert collection first though. I currently have "Flying Dog", "Burning Organ" and "Spaceship One".

Satriella, make sure Andy Timmons gets on the top of you list. He's too special to be disregarded as "just another good guitar player". This morning I've been having some help with transcribing one of his songs note-for-note, something I never do but wanted to with this song, and having sat for an hour and analysed his playing I am even more in awe of him as a musician.

His playing and his note selection and his general sense of great melody and feeling goes into realms that are even a stretch for Satriani. I'm going to take some flak for that, I can tell! haha, they're different though, very different, but Andy has to be heard! Eric Johnson is much the same in his subtlety and consideration, they are my two absolute favourites.

As for albums, Get Andy's That Was Then, This Is Now which is a compilation, or even better, get The Spoken And The Unspoken. It's the second-best album in my entire collection, right after EJ's Venus Isle. You'll get to hear the song I was just talking about learning, and it has a great mix of beautiful vocals and beautiful instrumentals. It's tops for variety!

Put Eric Johnson's Venus Isle on that list, I beg you!

If you go to Andy's merchandise page on his website you can get CD's cheaper, and he'll benefit more from it which is always a bonus. As far as I can make out, he personally packages and posts it as well, which is kinda cool!

Michelle, see the above recommendation for Andy Timmons stuff.
LucySorets, yesss! I'm so pleased I've got you into mr Timmons! I'm still really annoyed with myself that I didn't come out to Madrid to see that show.....I won't let the opportunity slide next time! I thoroughly recommend The Spoken And The Unspoken to you also, as it's loaded with amazing tracks you will never have heard and are missing out on!

Bertinelli Divorcing Rocker Eddie Van Halen

LOS ANGELES - Valerie Bertinelli and her rock star husband, Eddie Van Halen, are divorcing after 24 years of marriage, Bertinelli's publicist confirmed Tuesday.

"Yes, that's true. They have been separated for four years and it's amicable," Bertinelli spokeswoman Heidi Schaeffer told The Associated Press. She said the actress would have no further comment.

A divorce petition that Bertinelli, 45, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court Tuesday cited irreconcilable differences.

The couple wed on April 11, 1981, and have one son, 14-year-old Wolfgang Van Halen. According to the petition, they separated on Oct. 15, 2001.

Bertinelli shot to fame as the sexy 15-year-old daughter of Bonnie Franklin on the hit television show "One Day at a Time," which aired from 1975 to 1984. She rejoined Franklin and Mackenzie Phillips, who played her sister, for a reunion show earlier this year. She was also a regular on television's "Touched by an Angel" from 2001 to 2003.

Van Halen, 50, is one of the most celebrated lead guitarists in rock music. He rose to fame in the late 1970s, along with his brother, drummer Alex Van Halen, vocalist David Lee Roth and bassist Michael Anthony as members of Van Halen.

The group was known for wild excess both on and offstage in its early years, and Van Halen, once a heavy smoker, was treated for cancer in 2000 and 2001.

Blue Moon - I like the guitar sound you've got on 'Baroque', but the constant volume swelling makes it stlightly irritating after a while, 'A Train of Angels' is sounding awesome though, very impressed with it, well done!

Just a Little More Patience?

Guns N' Roses guitarist Richard Fortus recently told a German GN'R fan site that he plans to return to Los Angeles soon to finish recording the band's Chinese Democracy album. The axe-man is just about to complete a stint on tour with German pop star Nena. As previously reported, a two-CD retrospective titled Welcome to the Jungle: The Very Best of Guns N' Roses is slated for a Dec. 20 release.

yup dck...I'm still alive, not kicking too much though.....

svk...it's okay if you use my anguished words re: the chat....but it's STILL not working.....NO CHAT for over a week now!!! We miss you honey! But study hard for those tests, I know you'll do great!

civi...it's HUMP day for finals week!!! You must hold onnnnnn........soon you'll be on vacation, and I well remember the relief after the last final with 2 or 3 glorious weeks of nothingness stretched out before me..... :)

satriella hiya honey...sorry I haven't said hello before this but have really enjoyed reading your posts....On your bizarre complaints list, have to say I liked chelly's pick, but also numbers 11 and 14....#17 is just plain nasty though, LOL!!!! Hope you feel better soon! Being soggy toilet paper just ain't NO fun!!

Master_Zed...your post really popped out at me....where you said you have Asperger's. My son also has this disorder, he's 17. Mind if I ask how old you are? You sound like you're doing pretty well, as you have a girlfriend and other friends....well...not so much the friend that broke your guitar!!! But you still have relationships, which is great...my son doesn't have any of those but he loves to play guitar. I hope you get a job very soon! If you don't mind my asking, what sorts of challenges do you have with your Aspergers?? Hugs.......

and finally.....brotheral, or biue moon... your version of Train of Angels is really great! You are just an awesome guitar player honey....keep it up, come to America and make it big!! I do owe you a few drinks....when yer 21 that is!!

Webmaster Jon, is there just NO hope that the chat is ever going to be fixed? We miss it badly, really we do......:(

Good Morning Satchland.....How Are You Guys?

Civgeek..... Cindy abd I went to a wedding about two years ago. We tried our first Chocolate Martini there and we were hooked on those for a while. That drink can be dangerous to your health....lol.... How come every thing you like ....is not necessarily good for you? Damn shame.......lol......

Lucy Sorets.....Happy Consitution Day. Thanks for the poster links. Who is "Freak Kitchen" and "William Stravato" ? I've never heard of them.

JS1200..... So you're still in Chi- Town? Yaeh ! ! ! It's Friggin' cold. I'm sure you caught the record low on Mon. for 5 above. We talked before about the Winter not being to bad if it's not like it is now. Well....Here it is. It Sucks.

Satriella.....Just how does a soggy toilet roll feel?...LOL....Sorry you're a bit under the weather. The complaints were hilarious. Thanks for those. It put a smile on my face and got me started with my day.

Blue Moon.....Nice job on A Train Of Angels. Almost sounds like a demo of Joe before the actual recording. I loved it.

Mari....Thanks. You're a sweetheart. I haven't forgotten about the DVD's. I've been real busy and I promise to get them to you. Scouts Honor....lol....

Band Update.....After Three rehearsals with the new line up I'm happy to say It's going great. This is exactly what I've been searching for for almost two years. I'm receiving photos and bios of the guys soon. I'm going to put these up on the web site. I'll let you guys know and if you want you can go to the site to see the band. Thanks for being you.

Have A Great Day Everybody ! ! !

Edit....Zinc...Thanks for the info on Van Halen. I thought Ed and Val were divorced already. I was in love with Val in her early TV years. It's sad that had to end. Also,It's sad to see Eddie crumple over the years. Ed is such a great guitarist. He has had a lot to contend with with the cancer,alcohol... Roth/Hagar issues. I hope Van Halen comes back soon.

Guitarmiester: You might be able to get a hold of Matt King here........ It looks like his site hasnt been updated in ages, but I'm sure the email addy must still be good??.... The way I look at it, Berklee may not be for everyone, but it is the best possible situation to be in if you want a future in music.... You study/practice, have access to an incredible library of music, AND meet people in the industry that can help guide you toward your goals.... Everything is what you make out of it....

....Oh, btw, JOE never went there..Dr. VAI did (he received an honorary Doctorate a few years back), and there is a whole section of the library dedicated to YJM, lol!!.... Good luck man, and go for it!....

Zenbug: That's the scary thing about Shane.... He's got a great sense of humor, lol!!.... We will hear more I'm sure....

962: haha, lol Simon, I was talking about the name of the dvd.... If Satriella obtains the Crossroads dvd, she will see Joe Walsh' set ;-) Which is pretty awesome I might add!.... Man, he can play the blues like a madman with soul!!....

....On Gilberto.... I would get Alligator farm next, cause 2 Become 1 (Spice Girls) is on there as well as the amazing Instrumental Let The Computer Decide.... Makes Petrucci look minor, lol!....

Nite all.. ZZZZzzzz

Oh, and Simon....I found a page (Tony Spinner guested on a few songs) that includes the whole Alligator Farm album clips!!.... Check em' out!!

....Paul can do anything.... Listen to Six Billion People and Two Become One.... Then listen to him laugh while singing Lancelot Link!

Lancelot Link for G3!

Ovation1: MattKing doesn't post much on T2J anymore. I talk with him via IM alot though, and we trade music all the time, so allow me to speculate on Matt's decision. I think Matt feels that Berklee is ultra competitive in terms of "I can play faster than you." I think he feels this is all bs, and isn't really what is important. I think he just really hates the vibe of competitin in music. I would have to tell you as well, that I was considering trying to get a scholarship into Berklee through the B E S T scholarship they offer (a program where you send in a cd demoing your ability) but after talking to a guy that used to teach blue grass at the school, I'm not interested. He seemed to seriously have his head up his butt! haha!

OCPS470.....Ego is a terrible thing isn't it. It seems it hemorrhages in the arts more than anything else. Me personally....I like to play healthy. If you know what I mean. I sound and feel better when I do....and I have more fun that way. You have to have fun or what's the point. I have a theory about jealousy and ego. If you have one or the other or both. It means you're not happy with yourself. If you're truly happy with yourself. Let the music flow. You don't have bagage or drama flowing(hemorrhaging) inside. Where the hell did this come from?...lol.....
