marimariSRV...hmmmm...I think that the G3 choices are primarily financially driven...(who can bring more to the table, regarding CD/DVD sales) Eric Johnson was obviously a wise choice, Yngwie another...John Petrucci brings all those Dream Theater lovers...so, I think it's more of a guess of who's got the clout/pull to help ensure a successful mutual score.
That being said...who's left out there that could achieve that...Neil Schon's got his Journey clan, but there's no real solo material for him to offer from that creative effort, and his solo stuff is probably widely unknown...hmmm...untapped monster guitarist with a healthy body of popular material... EVH would work nicely if...well...there's alot of if's...maybe G3s could be a "let's introduce new talent to the world kinda thing", but that would be a philanthropic endeavor...not likely...hmmm....maybe a repeat is more likely....hmmm

Santa brought me a DS-1 Distortion, MT-2 Metal Zone, DD-3 Digital Delay, TU-2 tuner and BD-2 Blues Driver. I musta been good this year! I think Santa may have connections at Boss, too...
