Stevee T: haha, lol man, go for it, and we want to know what it feels and sounds like after you get it!!....

Satriella: Depending on the rest of her, we could look beyond (and forget) the sideburns, lmao! ;-) Seriously though, we all need to get the Dramagods cd!!

Yo!.... Matt King in the houuuuse!.... Keep it up Matt, we look forward to hearing more!....

962: Like the others have said, Vernon Reid is/was the guitarist for Living Colour.... Rock/Heavy player from the 80's, great stuff.... He was also a guest player (in NY, I believe) on the G3 tour..JOE knows him! :-) BTW dude.... Get the G3TYO dvd!.... JP deserves respect, and remember 6DOIT??.... DT are perhaps the most talented band of modern times, and we get to witness it! :-)

Cliff: No prob man, I was stoked to find the vid and share! :-) It's great to see Nuno going back to his roots, and those guys JAM!!.... BTW, you can check out all (most) of your faves from that site, and have fun with Eruption!.... Ed is the man!....

Nite all ZZZZzzzzzz

marimariSRV I really wanted to go and was going to go Sunday night, but out of nowhere I was sick Sunday mourning through late last night...I really wanted to check out Matt's band. About Angel Vivaldi, the guitarist does way too much sweep picking, when he plays the melody (which shouldn't be all sweep picking, that gets boring and very overused too much) he sweeps everything, from the melody to the verse and right into the solos. It's all sweep picking. He definitly has sweep picking down, but (in my opinion) sweep picking should be used for much added flare or an amazing trick. I have sweep picking down very well myself, but I only use it occasionally, where it sounds good. You pretty much get the idea, so I don't need to really say more about it. It's exactly like why many like guys like Satch and Vai but not Malmsteen...some people can't take Malmsteen's speedy runs and sweep picking. I like Malmsteen, learning some of his stuff really got me working on speed, accuracy, and sweeping. When I start recording, I'll record a couple of my instrumental songs I came up with about a year ago (haven't been doing much instrumental stuff, check out Pain of Salvation, they are more of what I play like. I'm kind of a mix of Pain of Salvation + Dream Theater with the many guitarists that have influenced me.)

Matt King Any chance you guys are playing any more shows in the area (NJ)?

Ah cool, I didn't know they were looking for modellers. I havent played PGR3 yet but it wasn't on my list of games to get either lol.

At the moment I'm focussing on character modelling, I found a good video tutorial on the net that walks through the basics in a really easy way to follow so I'm using that to improve, and then I'll add all the extra geometry to get it looking even better lol. One day I'm hoping to be good enough to make a music video to put into my portfolio...probably a Satriani one, I was thinking of doing a video for "A Train Of Angels"...but it'll be a long time till I'm at that level.

I'm also focussing on special effects for films and video compositing that stuff just looks awesome all the time.

My aunt is doing ok, the doctors had to get her diabetes under control before they could focus on the cancer...her 'type' of diabetes has changed now to the kind where you have to inject yourself with insulin, and she doesn't like the idea of injecting herself. I'm sure she'll get round the idea of it eventually.

Anywayz, take care, I'm gonna' get back to my modelling lol.

Lawyers should never ask a Southern grandma a question if they aren't prepared for the answer. In a trial, a Southern small-town prosecuting attorney called his first witness, a grandmotherly, elderly woman to the stand.

He approached her and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know me?"

She responded, "Why, yes, I do know you, Mr. Williams I've known you since you were a young boy, and frankly, you've been a big disappointment to me. You lie, you cheat on your wife, you manipulate people and talk about them behind their backs. You think you're a big shot when you haven't the brains to realize you never will amount to anything more than a two-bit paper pusher. Yes, I know you."

The lawyer was stunned! Not knowing what else to do, he pointed across the room and asked, "Mrs. Jones, do you know the defense attorney?"

She again replied, "Why, yes, I do. I've known Mr. Bradley since he was a youngster, too. He's lazy, bigoted, and he has a drinking problem. He can't build a normal relationship with anyone and his law practice is one of the worst in the entire state. Not to mention he cheated on his wife with three different women. One of them was your wife. Yes, I know him."

The defense attorney almost died.

The judge asked both counselors to approach the bench, and in a very quiet voice, said, "If either of you bastards asks her if she knows me, I'll throw your sorry asses in jail for contempt.

Hi all, Im relatively new to the site, but not to Joe's Music, (which I must say is astounding)

Do have a question here. This is not meant out of competition or for people to pick favs over or anything, but I waondering....

To Joe and Band members, what, if any, are your opinions of the Toronto based [i]Rush[i] ??

I know Alex Lifeson's style is very very different from Joe's, but again, just curious.

For those who were interested in my track for the t2j project:

since mark london had a problem with me streaming my song over the net, accusing it of a possible breach of a contract (which i never recieved), i will be offering the song free to download, with a direct link to the red cross where you will be able to donate any amount of money you feel you can donate. The project in my opinion has gone in a completely sour direction, with "spies" and egos. I do still however wish to support the sales of the T2j project and will promote it any way i can for the benifit of charity...

no need for any response to this mesage.

Ovation1, yeah I will get the G3 Tokyo DVD eventually, I'm just in no real hurry. I don't listen to Vai that much these days, so it'd really be just for Joe's set anyway. Yeah the Dream Theater squad are all technically adept musicians, and 6DOIT was, indeed, a great record, but I still haven't properly listened to them in about a year!

Powerslave and Ovation1, thanks for the input on Vernon Reid.
Delfino, shit man, that sucks that her type of diabetes actually changed. I'm sorry to hear she's having to deal with that as well as the cancer. But yeah, hopefully she'll get used to the idea of injecting herself, it's better to meet these things eye-to-eye than to try and shy away from them.....well, that's just my opinion anyway!

Yeah PGR3 isn't that great. I almost sold my Xbox 360 but figured some decent games would come out in the fullness of time, and I know I've got to play Halo 3 when it comes out.....I'd put money on it being just as amazing as it's predecessors!

I'll look forward to seeing your character models. And A Train Of Angels would be a cracking choice of song to make a music video for!

Satriella, finally got around to sorting out some cool photos from the Alps! I uploaded a few today, and there'll be more when I get around to it. Go to my webshots community page and click on the album title French Alps - Husky Sledding to check out the photos that are up so far!

My oldest sister, my mum and I went out with a team of 8 dogs at 9am on December 26th. We started by harnessing a couple of dogs each and hooking them up to the sled, and were then out for 2 and a 1/2 hours with them. We each got a go at standing on the back of the sled helping steer and brake it. It was so much fun, and it's really amazing to see a team of dogs working so well together.....their cooperation and teamwork skills are quite superior to those of most people that I've met! haha.

The dogs don't all live together. They come to Vallouise for 4 months in winter, from their own homes all over France. The lead dog, Slayker, however....she belongs to the couple that do the sledding and look after the dogs. Needless to say, one of them goes with you as an instructor/guide because it needs someone experienced to be in charge of the team of dogs, otherwise they'd probably run all day!

And then there's also some photos of the river down in the town of Vallousie. It was really cold that morning, and the sun hitting the surface of the water was causing it to actually evaporate, despite the ambient air temperature being -16 celcius. I thought it was just a stunning image, hence the photos!

edit:

marimariSRV, Electromagnets will be reforming for 3 shows only next month! It's the first time they will have played together/played Electromagnets stuff in 25years, so I suggest you talk to EJ's manager about it, it's something you really didn't ought to miss!

peaceandguitars, of course you do amigo......everyone fits in here! That's part of what makes it so cool....there's all sorts of people here and we're all equal! Take it easy dude ;-]
