Hey everyone, Hey Joe, I see that whenever I decided to slack off the message boards I missed you posting... And it sucks! But anyway, I got a new Acoustic Electric Guitar from a very close friend of mine. he actually lives in Nashville and wirtes childrens music. Anyway, he gave me an "Yamaha Compass Series Guitar CPX-15A" I'm so thankful! The tone is excellent and far from what I was use to playing. Mr. Satirani, I would be very thankful if you could give your oppinion on it's sound and structure, I'm sure you've played it before. If not, I'm sure you'd like it!

just for fun...

If Joe were to come to your town (on this tour) and play live, what top 5 songs would you want him to play most and why?

my top 5 would be...

1) Time Machine 2) All Alone 3) Dreaming #11 4) Thinking of You 5) and of course Rubina!

because they are very very beautiful and touch me alot. Also they are some of my most played songs.

Joe...just got my new JSX 212 combo...and man is this thing sweet. The tone is just incredible...I replaced my Marshall TSL 100 with it and I couldn't be happier! It needs wheels, though, because it weighs a mother-loading 85lbs...nearly pulled my groin loading it into my car :-) anyway, I was wondering if you use all three channels, or just the clean one with a DS-1? I can't imagine not using the crunch and ultra channels, because they sound so good...but your live setup has a ds-1 in it...why? ...matt

Matt... the Boss DS-1 to many guitarists is the most reliable Distortion pedal around along with the Ibanez/Maxon Tube Screamer... the tone of those 2 pedals are just like butter... and they are very easy to dial in for tone wise... easy to control and from a clean sound to a distortion sound it's not so overkill a transaction between the two... the Boss DS-1 is fairly cheap to replace as well which is another added bonus... now alot of vintage buffs are always seeking the Japanese models which are hard to come by and you pay alot more for them but in the end I've never been spoiled by an original Japanese DS-1 so oh well...

I have played Joe's amp in store and they let me rip into it a bit and mess with the controls and I will agree the Crunch channel and the Ultra Lead are great just as much as the clean...

but the rule of thumb is to get a true tone out of a pedal even a delay or chorus you must have a purely clean channel to appreciate the proper tone of the pedal... especially the DS-1...

Satriella, oh yeah, that question.......what do I want from life? Something like that wasn't it? I haven't come to any profound conclusions yet, but I know I wouldn't mind living another country 'cause we're all familiar with how much a hate it here! haha.

In all honesty, I see myself, for the time being at least, carrying on with the teaching. I don't have any big ideas about making money out of making music 'cause that's what people like Joe are for! I do really enjoy teaching and it's really nice to watch someone's level of skill and understanding increase directly because of the work you've done!

gotta have joe, 1) The Forgotten (Part II), 2) Hill Groove, 3) If I Could Fly, 4) Champagne?, and 5) Rubina

The Forgotten is just epic and I've always wanted to see/hear it live.

Hill Groove is one of my favourites and it's got so much funky get-up-and-go coming off the breakbeat and the lead guitar that it'd be a killer live tune for jumping around too! haha.

If I Could Fly is such a beautiful melody and a ripping solo.....it's a good chance to see Joe let right off the leash.

Champagne? would be nice 'cause it's kind of different to most of Joe's stuff, and the mix of synths and, again, funky rhythms, would be great in a live setting, especially with a good light show

And Rubina is the finest track to finish a set on - The Live In SanFrancisco performance.....need I say more?

Hi Joe, I've been registered on this site for a long time but have never posted so I thought I would say hello... I was just wondering how you and any other members here feel about the closing of several tab sites and wether you have anything agains people using free tabs to learn your songs.

Good Morning Satchland......How R U Today?

Bit nippy in Chi-Town this morning. Tomorrow almost 50. Nice.

Plum Loco..... I have an original TS 808 Cindy(Wife) bought me in the early 80's (God I Love That Women)It's like Visa. I don't leave home with out it. Check out the media page on my site. I'm using the TS 808 on all the solos. You're right about the smooth tone. Perfect pedal for that extra drive without coloring your tone. I love it.

http://www.thebluesmavericks.com

962..... I agree about " If I could Fly." To me it's "Flying In A Blue Dream " Part Duex. The solo is freaking awesome. Joe just unleashes himself to us on that one. Brillant guitar playing.

Kayla..... Vocals? I would love to hear you sing sometime. Good Luck To You.

My Songs :

1. Flying In A Blue Dream ( Still My Fav. This song has it all)

2. If I Could Fly( Read Above)

3. Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing( I've been working on and off for a year learning this song. (Got the arpeggio part down... working on the solo.....and I mean working...lol....)

4. Surfing With The Alien ( My Son Sean's Fav )

5. Love Thing ( Cindy's And My Song )

6. Extra Credit..lol....House Full Of Bullets ( I'm A Blues Dude...Hi Mari...and my band plays this live.) A Mixture of old and new. I chose these songs cause they personally mean something to me. Joe is the ultimate teacher. He inspires me everyday. Hugs.

SteveeT....Site update? Your site is awesome. Can't wait for the overhaul. How far away are you from releasing your next song? ( two hand technique) I know what you mean about working on something untill you can play it. That's what I'm doing with Mystical Patoto Head Groove Thing.( Read above) I love the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment when you reach your goal. Take care.

Have A GReat Day Everyone ! ! !
