Hi everyone!
962, Simon, even if you don't think about making money out of making music, you really deserve to have an album on the market. You are very skilful. And how about playing gigs?
About me...this was a crazy busy week at work. I work as a secretary...and it has been very stressful...Hmmm talk about it helps a lot :-)
Keniko, well...thanks for your concern, you are very kind :-) I'm doing a lot better now, it was just some discomfort last
week...nothing important. Anyway this forum always cheer me up ;-)
About bahduh, he didn't told me about the cause of his shoulder problem, but I guess it's something related to cricket training, the sport he plays. He will tell us when he comes back. He is now under medical supervision.
Keep him in our thoughts and prayers as he continues to recover...
Satriella, one of my worst accidents...when I was four I went with my parents to the hospital to visit my grandfather, who was ill. Well, the floor of the hospital was so shiny...that I began to slide over the floor, it was really funny! But I slipped, fell to the ground and hit my right eyebrow with a table. My eyebrow was bleeding hardly. The blow split my eyebrow...ahhh I depend on my eyebrow pencil forever ;-)
michelle, bodyworlds, spine-chilling!
gotta have Joe, top 5 songs I would want Joe to play most:
With Jupiter In Mind: it's just enigmatic, thrilling, intense...
New Blues: relaxing, inspiring...
Oriental Melody: I feel immersed in another world...
Time Machine: incredible...
If I Could Fly: hmmm those breezy chords...and personally brings me back very nice memories of my 2004 summer holidays in Asturias (North of Spain), I listened to this song almost non-stop on the train contemplating the mountains...it was delightful.
alexandrecaetano, Alexandre, you have a very urgent mail! ;-)
bahduh, I hope you are doing better today and better tomorrow, I'll mail later, take care
Lenne, I was wondering the same. New album in spring so I guess this year we will have Satch here.
Five years without a full show it's too much time. Joe should begin his next tour in Spain! ;-) We will see.
Bye

Nevada Pair Sentenced in Chili Finger Case
SAN JOSE, Calif. - A couple who planted a severed finger in a bowl of Wendy's chili in a scheme to extort money from the fast-food chain were sentenced Wednesday to prison terms of nine years and more than 12 years.
Anna Ayala, 40, who said she bit into the digit, was sentenced to nine years in state prison. Her husband, Jaime Plascencia, 44, who obtained the finger from a co-worker who lost it in a workplace accident, was sentenced to more than 12 years.
The pair pleaded guilty Sept. 9 to conspiracy to file a false insurance claim and attempted grand theft with damages exceeding $2.5 million.
Ayala said she retched March 22 after biting into the fingertip while dining with her family at a Wendy's in San Jose.
Although authorities suspected a hoax — in part because the finger was not cooked — word of the stomach-turning find quickly spread around the world. The Dublin, Ohio-based fast food chain claimed it lost $2.5 million in sales because of the bad publicity, and dozens of workers at the company's Northern California franchises were laid off.
No Wendy's employee was missing a digit at the San Jose restaurant, and no chili suppliers reported finger injuries at their plants.
In April, Ayala was arrested at her suburban Las Vegas home. Investigators found a pattern of legal claims she brought against businesses in her name or for her children.
A lengthy search for the finger's owner eventually pointed to one of Plascencia's co-workers, who lost it in an accident at the paving company where they worked, police said.
Plascencia bought the tip of Brian Rossiter's right ring finger for $100 and told him what he and Ayala were plotting, according to court documents. Rossiter later told police the couple offered him $250,000 to keep quiet.
During a recorded jailhouse phone call, Ayala bragged about how other inmates were asking for her autograph, according to a transcript of the call.

js1200js1000, cool man, I'm pleased you're enthused by the idea! Yeah, if you don't mind, could you send your postal mailing address to me. My e-mail is: airman_siro@yahoo.co.uk
Be sure to give me the address which you're most likely to recieve mail at! It may take me a while but I'll start compiling some stuff and I'll figure out what extra things I'll need to write down....you know, all the sort of stuff I'd normally just say if you were sitting in front of me with your geetar! haha
I'll keep you posted anyway and I'll let you know when it's on it's way!
SupaaDave, yeah I can understand the enjoyment side to just plain improvising. Thinking in theory terms can be extremely useful sometimes though, especially when you're looking for that special sequence of phrases that sounds natural but considered. This, especialy, is where knowledge of different modal progressions gets really, really handy. I do recommend working on modes and working on being familiar with what makes each of them sound different......it's good to take each of the 7 modes as it's own scale, as well as being 7 components of the same scale! It's crazy but easy when you get your head round it.
LucySorets, "even if you don't think about making money out of making music, you really deserve to have an album on the market. You are very skilful".......wow, thankyou! You're very kind! At some point I would really like to take the stuff I'm most happy with and go and re-record it properly in a studio, with a real drummer and real bass player.
I would really like to record some sort of album some day, but it would definitely be just as a personal project and not something to try and make money out of! As for being in a gigging band......yeah, I'm working on it right now, I've got a few people I'm negotiating with, so I'll hopefully sort out something comprehensive during this year!
You've got e-mail :-)
Eric Johnson's Bristol Shore is a killer tune! Phwoooaaarrrr, I'd forgotten how cool his "Tones" album is!

Hi Satchites,
You know I still find it overwhelming that people who don't even know (OK I Know some of you know each other properly) me, would actually sit and write something to me or to someone else...that sounds crazy doesn't it..its just great...gives you a warm fuzzy feeling every time you see you got mail or your name mentioned on here....
962 - I could agree with Lucy more....the world should hear at least one album done by YOU. Do it....set up a web site...sell it...easy...all from the comfort of your own home and doing something you obviously love!!
DCslater - hey pal, I take it that you prefer Steve Vai'#s stuff as you went to his site first? I've only bin on here bout 2 months, and I though like you at first, but believe me, you'll be hooked on here and the posts will soon mount up...not that that's what it's all about of course. 1. Adoration of JOE 2. Chatting with fellow satchurated Satch fans 3. Racking up the posts.
Bumblefoot - Wow...cool name...sounds like a hobbit. Wait a minute it is a hobbit isn't it...or was it crowsfeet...hmmm let me know?
962 - So you teach guitar? Is that your job?
peaceandguitars - ahhh, yep that's gotta hurt...did that to my daughter when she was little, the worst thing was the button was down so her finger was trapped and the door was locked...she only cried for a little bit though...she's never bin one to complain about pain.
Lucy - I agree oooooow that sounds like eyewatering stuff...so it left a scar then eh?
Hmmm favourite satch songs in no particular order....

dave wren sadly i now live in america so a trip to hyde isn't exactly easy lol... i checked the forum, it's in the thread titled "the man is unbelievable"... a forum member called Risto was talking about when he met Joe... here's a snippet of his post:
I also get my best Joe memorabilia signed; A one-sided clear blue vinyl maxi-single Always With Me, Always With You from 1987. I got it signed at the local recordstore, where Joa was a little bit amazed when seeing it. He also showed something from the vinyl to ZZ who was with him at the store.
Then later in the evening Joe told me what he was showing from the record. He just checked if it was the first pressing, because the first one has between those last spins a text JOE LOVES RUBINA. My record has that text, so I would be interested what would be price of that vinyl nowdays. It has NEVER been played, because I had allready the CD.
hope that's some extra info for you! :-) all the best for the gig! :-)

Ordered 2 DVD's on Sunday, (Pain of Salvation -Be and Evergrey 'A Night To Remember) the Evergrey DVD came in today...any fans of Evergrey here? The DVD has a 2nd disc full of 6 and 1/2 hours of backstage footage, interviews, videos... Awesome band...from watching only about 40 minutes of the extra footage, they seem like a really fun band to hang around with. Another band I gotta add to my list to see live.
-Dream Theater April 1st! Can't wait! I'm in the 3rd row from the stage!
-Now, just waiting for Pain of Salvation and Evergrey to come back to the US.
-Any word on Joe's latest album?

Plum Loco - Nice tone, my man... really liked the Eagles cover!! You did a great job with that!
Satriella - No, no, no... let's get something straight here... Vai takes a back seat to Joe. : ) - I just posted on both boards at the same time and I only got replies here. I think it has something to do with the fact that there is a "Self-Promotion" board on vai.com and they only want you to promote stuff in there, like anybody's going to read it besides other musicians who also happen to be promoting themselves. This is much cooler, and I appreciate the welcome!
Keniko, Stevee T - No prob, guys!! Anytime.

DC thanks for the kind words...
I've been playing for quite awhile, I actually started when I was 8 or 9 but stopped a few times in between, I'm 34 in March so off and on who really knows how long, I'm kind of a mutt at it... I just have never had the opportunity nor the chance to play in any huge bands that actually had a chance at something until now, that tune was actually a painstaking process...
pretty much all of the background music was performed by my good friend Brian Taylor, an excellent songwriter in his own right, I consider myself very fortunate to be playing with him, he's had his songs played on the radio and ranked quite high in some radio contests as well which they had to perform to a few thousand people, unfortunately that's before I joined up with him... he wishes I was part of all that but since we're starting out from scratch and working on getting the right members on board it's yet another painstaking process...
Brian is multi-talented, he plays a mean rhythm guitar, with tight keys, and all that funky bass playing you hear was him as well... heck I'm just a dum lead guitar player... hehe... I make the thing hum and buzz and it sorta sounds like music...hehe
peace
bear
