Stevee T:

Thanks for the reply regarding Joe's use of the Palmer Speaker sim. I thought of asking Joe, but I don't want to distract him from making us the new CD!

I checked out your website. Very cool. I love the trippy tunes. I dig your chromeboy too. Do you ever play it, or is it more of a collectors piece? If I ever get one I would probably be afraid to take it out of it's case. I'd probably hang it on the wall in a glass case.

I'm a big Ibanez JS fan too. I have two. A BP and a BSB. Well, three if you count the JS6 I custom built for myself ( Finished JS6 pics ). I dig your Les Paul as well. I have an 82 Les Paul Custom that I bought new in 82 for something like $1100 USD. Sounds cheap now.

Thanks again for the reply!

Best Regards,

Mike.

P.S. Click this link if you want to see actual construction pics fo the JS6. This page will take some time to load as it has a ton of pics on one page (someday I'll get around to breaking it up). Construction Pics

Hey Joe! My name is Jason. I've seen you once at the Bone Bash, and another when you played with Steve Miller at the Kihncert... I am 15 years old and have played guitar for 5 years. I'm also a big fan of Steve Vai, and I think it is amazing how much he learned from you. When doing the G3 tour, does Steve still ask for advice, and do you find it a strange feeling that you are performing for thousands of fans all coming to see you and your student??? Anyway I've just been wondering...

A faithful fan, Jason Boule

Okay fine...I've changed my name back...thought I'd be a "normal" person and go by my first name...but somehow it just dint feel quite right...guess I'm just a big ole cheesehead-chester cheetoes-cheetard kinda person...LOL...

Last night's show with Curtis Salgado was great. He does all kinds of blues, does the vocals and plays the snot outta the harmonica!!! Fantastic! And his band is so good....Chris was caught up in watching the guitar player most of the night..he had the greatest tone for blues! So now guess what I'm hearing coming from Chris's room......yup...lots n lots of bluesey stuff! :)

Joe, if you have the time, I think you'll love this show when Curtis hits San Francisco later this month....he knows all about you and thinks you're an incredible musician :)

Happy weekend everyone...foot of snow here!! Car drives like a bobsled, especially on the overpasses, LOL!!

wo calm down sis , I agree its not fair 2 b excluding fellow t2jers ( u know who u r ppl!)!! But shouting or boldin as i like 2 put it hehe , can probly do more harm than good . I'll second wot u say 962 is a great player and they r defeating the whole object of the t2j cd by not letting him play .

Satriella, I can't believe you did that! haha, talk about uninhibited! I can't tell you how much it means to me to read such an unquestionable level of support for something I've done. You are a source of great inspiration and confidence. Thank you!

peaceandguitars, hehe, thanks for your kind words dude! To be honest, I respect the decision made by the organisers....I'm sure they know what is going to make the best track line-up, and if the omission of my contribution gives someone else an opportunity they've not had before to get their stuff heard, then I'm happy with that!

I thank you both sincerely for your support though!

Howdy gang...

BADMAMAJAMA - No problem, dude!! Like I said, I really enjoyed the music. Keep it up, man...

ovation1 - Cool brother, as long as some people are interested... : ) - Again, thanks man!! I'm lovin' the love here...

alter_ego_of_joe - Hey man, glad that capo thing worked for you!! As for your questions, well, 962 and BADMAMAJAMA had some great points. I would most definitely follow their advice as they're both great players... What can I add?? Hmmm, well, I'd say try to not get in the habit of pressing too hard on the strings, try not to tense up. Just remember the more tense you are, the more rigid your playing will sound. Stay loose when you play, and the music will flow a lot better. I know it's not that easy to do when you're starting out, but try your best to stay loose.

And another thing that's very important... use your pinky! I've seen so many guys use their ring fingers to play minor pentatonic scales, and it really slows down your playing, not to mention limits your movement. Try to practice everyday for at least an hour, but be careful not to overdo it. I've strained fingers and it's not cool because it sets you back. Again, stay loose, practice your scales and modes... check out some theory sites online (musictheory.net is pretty cool). It will all come together and help you create more fluid tunage. Just be patient and try not to get frustrated... Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say.

As for the downloadable tunes, I will try to change the option. I was having some issues with the mySpace site not saving my preferences the other day. I'll try again. By the way, you asked for the direct link... http://myspace.com/dcslater

Satriella, I am a bit disappointed in you. You went through the whole bloody rant without one single F-bomb. Next time pepper it up a little sister! lol! It usually takes more than bold to rile up the peeps in here. I think you'll be safe - and you're right - Simon IS good.

We got our new little kitty this afternoon. He's a little red head, almost 5 months old, and cute as can be. On the down side, when he was born they gave him the name...Bubbah. It just isn't rolling off the tongue either. lol! My daughter thinks it's hysterical, but after an afternoon of having Bubbah in the house, my husband, son, and I are thinking about a redo. Any suggestions? lol! I'm sure as we get to know him, something will come up. Our other cat Stew is getting used to him and has followed him everywhere. So far so good :-) Also, Bubbah was born on my mum's birthday, so that's cool. She can't wait to see her new grandbaby. lol!

satriella NOBODY said simon wasn't good enough to be on the cd... please get your facts straight before posting things like that - some people might get the wrong impression about the project after reading such one-sided posts as yours... simon is a great guy and i like his music a lot, in fact i rather regret leaving england before jamming with him (and many other brits from here)... also, being "a big part of this site" is not a credential for being on the cd... sorry you're upset, but as judges we really know and understand the adage that you can't please all of the people all of the time... it sucks to be us... but we do have plans to involve all contributors, seeing as pretty much all contributions were so good... thanks for listening, i hope you understand

Hi guys Thanks very much for your kind welcome. Lol to tell u the truth i didn't think i would be noticed on such busy forum. Lol Anyway i got a little message for all of u

Uptanya --- i hope you do well in your project. You cannot go wrong with having " flying a blue dream " as a theme. Hope u get the right copyright permission and everything.

Meandmrvai... Hey i checked out your link. good stuff. Keep up the good work

Satriella...That was a very nice welcome from u. I had a look at your pervious post ( the bits in bold one ) and i agree with you. 962 sounds great in his own right.

Chuckstar....Hey nice to meet u. If u happen to find any good info on finger excersise or anything could u please also let me know

Civgeek ... Hey sorry to hear about your bad week. I have got to say your sis in law sounds wierd. Ah well theres always next week. Hope u have a good one

alter_ego_of_joe ....Lol welcome to the site. well i am a newbie myself but a day older than u , so i guess it gives me the privilege

962 - Hey i am kind of learning to play guitar but my sedule doesn't allow much time to sit down with a guitar and practice for hours. I would really love it if u can give me some pointers on the proper finger excercise or any kind of positive advice that can help me make the most of my time with my guitar.

Js1200JS1000.... Hi thanks for your welcome. Well i have lived in cardiff for over two years now . Lol its kinda like tasting marmite. u either love it or hate it. .... Lol i hated it at first and guess i still do lol

Elmi.... Hi and welcome . lol i was a new guy once . lol yesterday. anyway i got to say france is taking all the beautiful girls from uk. I mean two of my drop dead gorgeous female friends are in france right now doing something french related.

Cheese ...lol am glad u finally changed your name. lol se u are peaceful now. Kinda reminds me of wallace from wallace and grommit ...

JOE - hi, is there any more info on the new cd. like release date, what songs are on it or anything. Also i been meaning to ask u about the Chrome boys. My friend is trying to buy one but they are so limited its impossible to find one. He said that Ibanez only made about 60 of the new chromeboys and they are very much in demand . I dont know if u can do anything about it but since so many people want chrome boys shouldn't ibanez make more of those.

lol it took me forever to type all this. i wonder how many of u will read and reply to this. well anyway all the best and take care.

PhryDom- I agree with you 100%. I submitted my song "Majestic Beginnings." It did not make it on the T2Jcd. I was somewhat disappointed but who wouldn't be? It would have been an honor to be included on that CD but there is only so much room. There is SO much talent in the songs that were picked. Not being on this CD only makes me work harder to make it next year! All of you involved are doing a great job. Keep it up!!
