civgeek: Matt, sorry to hear about your "unusual" experience with the Sis in law.....maybe it's better that she moves out. Things happen for a reason.....I'll bet it's a Blessing in disguise. Hang in there Matt....... ;-) Good luck with the Band too!

marimariSRV About the Children of Bodom show, I'm probably going to be going to that, someone told me about it, and I got one of those "you don't have to pay for your ticket if you drive there" deals...hey! it's a simple drive for me, only about 40-50 minutes. I'm not really a fan of Children of Bodom, they do have a pretty impressive guitarist, but I can't stand music where the 'singer' screams (didn't want to use singer in this case.) So, I should be going to that show, I'll know for sure later this week. If someone didn't offer me a ticket to drive there, I probably wouldn't go, there's probably going to be better shows this year...and maybe Satch will be on tour later on in '06. If anything, you should have gotten tickets to see Dream Theater at Radio City Music Hall for April 1st. It's going to be amazing! I'll be 3 rows from the stage, almost dead center too! That's being filmed for a DVD and CD also! I can't wait for that show to come around. If you notice or hear of any Satch, EJ, Vai... shows before me, let me know. Oh yeah, have you checked out Pain of Salvation yet?

-Edit: I'm hoping Children of Bodom are good, I've only heard 2, maybe 3 songs by them...like I said, pretty impressive guitarist, but I can't stand the screaming.

Guitarmiester: I may go to the Dream Theater show @ Radio City in NYC. I've seen them at The Tower in Philly where I met up with Michelle for the 1st time. I may get a tix from http://www.StubHub.com ....they are a great source for buying or selling tickets. If not I may try my luck with the scalpers...I didn't know about the show till you posted your experience about buying your tickets. That was a few days later.........Oh well, I'll see what I can do . ;-))

mexican 11, welcome....as far as Satch swag, sometimes it's for sale on the Fanfire site, but there's nothing much there right now...when Joe starts his touring up again this spring, likely they'll start having t-shirts, etc for sale.....

the_beatrix_kiddo, also welcome...I've been cheese101 ever since coming on to the site, but thought I'd just give it a lil change to my real name....somehow, it just dint work though, so I changed it back. The nick was actually my son's when he first found this site, but he never posted, and one day I needed to post in a hurry so STOLE it from him, LOL....he's forgiven me, and now has his own....now see? Someone posted back to you!! :) Oh, and there is a release date for the cd, and I'm sure Joe will announce it as soon as he can! There's some cool stuff coming our way.... ;)

chelly, chelly, chelly.....I'm thinking so hard of a new name for Bubba I'm getting a brain cramp....Scott is helping, so you know what direction THAT'S going in, LOL!!! Hmmm, mebbee you won't want our help.....I don't think I would if I were you! :)

Mari, hiya! Yeppers, that's us...we got 6 inches of snow in like 3 hours.....it was majorly bad around here yesterday! I went out on my 15 minute break to walk around and do errands...came back looking like a real snowwoman.....and I could barely find my car at the end of the day underneath all the snow!!! Pics? Email? COOLIO!!!! Can't wait!

Welcome home from Namm Joe...how was it?

Satriella while i do think 962's gr8, i think those on the T2J cd are selected to be there on the basis of the merit of the track they submitted for the cd. & to be fair to the organizers, they have promised something for the others. we've just got to wait.... :)

Public Notice - Sorry I ranted

PhryDom - Yes you are right, you can't please everyone...and Simon is in fact very cool about the decision, Simon is really helping me with a problem I have at the moment...you may remember me being really down for a while...maybe not..well Simon has really lifted me out of my depression, so I guess I was just feeling very defensive of a friend...but that is not excuse to rant at you...so I really hope you (and the other organizers) can forgive my outburst..please! You are in fact doing a great job and we appreciate what you are doing and can't wait for the album...I'm probably blacklisted from getting one now aren't I

Michele - Just getting angry is really not my style I'm of a peace brother kind of person and I would never ever pep it up by swearing..that's just wrong, although so is ranting really - boy I feel really bad about that now...let it be a lesson to all....don't come on T2J when your angry..you will say something you regret.

I was gonna ask about the kitty yesterday but I wasn't 100% sure if it was you or Lucy that was getting one and I was tired so I didn't mention it in the end, but I was thinking of it...Ahh kittens are just the most adorable things on the planet, I couldn't possibly offer a name suggetion without seeing him although Bubbah doesn't sound right...maybe dumplings....so that you have stew and dumplings...kidding...maybe Joe or Satch would be good? I'm sure you will come up with the perfect name..have fun.

962 - Anytime friend! (just calm me down before I come on here next time OK) By the way "dude-ess"! What's that all about...Yuk!

the_beatrix_kiddo,svk,peaceandguitars - Thanks for you're comments...but what I did was wrong!

Sorry Hugs...Satriella

JOE - Sorry I brought discord to the site, won't happen again!

Stevee T:

Thanks for the kind words regarding my JS6. I'm glad to hear you play your Chromeboy and your JS2PRM. I'm sure you make good use of them. Regarding the Palmer, I thought that was you. If not, my apologies! That unit has been on my mind a lot recently since I've just purchased one. I was listening to Crystal Planet and the guitar sounds had that simulated kind of vibe and that's why I thought I would ask you guys and gals here.

hoiguy79:

Thanks! Actually, the body was cut from a solid block of wood. I drew the outline on the block and then used a bandsaw to cut it out followed by cleaning up of the edges with a robo-sander. I hand radiused the edges as well. By the way, I dig your Satriani Doll. The guitar replica is outstanding.

ovation1, hell yeah brotha! I'm so pleased to hear you've got your copy of Dramagods: Love too! I'm loving this album so much, and the way everythign meshes together is just superb. You're right about the drumming too - there's so much feel in the drumming.....I can't imagine being able to sit still and silent listening to this album! haha. The whole thing is great, and a nice surprise, and a great progression from Population 1.

michelle, aww thanks! :-)
PhryDom, I guess it's fair to say that my contribution wasn't good enough for the CD, so Satriella's sort of got her facts straight, it's just that she's a lot more cut up abut it than I am! hehehe. It's all good, I promote peace in the camp, and love to have the support but also agree with the judges' decision! Also thanks for your kind comments - "simon is a great guy and i like his music a lot, in fact i rather regret leaving england before jamming with him" - cheers man, I dunno what to say to that!
the_beatrix_kiddo, thanks amigo! That's really kind of you to say, especially since you only just joined us! Welcome to the 'board, anyway!

As for your playing - do you have a practice routine? Even though you don't have much time for playing, writing out a structured routine can really help. I did this for one of my students the other day and then wrote one for myself and it really helped.

Also, give me your e-mail address and I'll happily send you the same document of warmup/independence exercises that I'm sending alter_ego_of_joe! If you don't want to put your mail address up here, just mail me - airman_siro@yahoo.co.uk

I'll put a practice routine in a seperate post, probably, or e-mail it to you!

Satriella, sorry, maybe "dude-ess" was a bit off the mark huh?! hahahaha. I know you wouldn't like it really....but would you prefer to be called a "dude"?! hehe

82DeanZ - Nice pics of the JS build. I especially liked the one at Hearst's Castle.

Well the week has ended better than it started. We had a guy come in and play pretty well. He is more of a bluesy type player, not real flashy or fast, but hey that's my job!!. He's a bit older than me which now makes me (at 38) the baby of the group. I think he s going to be a good addition. Nice temperment, can sing, experience, good gear, lots of song knowledge and has played out for a while and has some contacts. Keep your fingers crossed and I'll keep you up to date.

Thanks! The guitar plays great too. I hand profiled the neck and made it a little thinner than a true JS. Regarding Hearst Castle, I couldn't figure out what you were referring to so I looked through the pictures again and found the picture I think you're talking about. That is actually a picture of me and my wife in front of the Trevi Fountain in Italy! What a great trip that was. I'd like to go back again some day.

Best Regards,

Mike.
